  • Patent number: 5562967
Abstract: This invention aims at providing a woven fabric having a structure suitable for bonding, so as to bond a so-called "tarpaulin sheet", which is bonded by sewing means and is obtained by coating a synthetic resin to a fiber base fabric, to a woven fabric such as a tape or a belt. The present invention further aims at providing a woven fabric having a structural portion enabling a woven fabric to be bonded to another woven fabric. A woven fabric 100 is divided in a longitudinal direction or in a transverse direction, or in both the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction, and either one, or both, of warps and wefts are woven more coarsely in at least one of the divided zones 22, 32 than the rest so as to form a mesh portion 2.

  • Patent number: 5550284
Abstract: Alkoxynaphthalenecarboxylic acid is produced by a process comprising the addition of 1,3-butadiene to alkoxyalkylbenzene to yield an adduct. The adduct is cyclized in the presence of an acid catalyst to alkoxyalkyltetralin. The tetralin derivative is then dehydrogenated to produce aloxyalkylnaphthalene, which is oxidized to alkoxynaphthalenecarboxylic acid.

  • Patent number: 5549285
Abstract: A wire rope vibration isolator includes a coil of wire rope having a predetermined number of individual consecutive coils, a first crimp bar, and a second crimp bar. Each of the crimp bars is essentially rectangular in shape and has a pair of opposing side surfaces. A series of lateral holes extending from one side surface to the other side surface of each of the bars is provided so that the predetermined number of individual consecutive coils may be threaded through the series of lateral holes of each of the bars. A crimping force is applied to each of the two crimp bars at a point where each of the individual coils passes through a respective bar. The coils are thereby secured in a fixed position relative to one another while remaining elastically deformable. A spring-like quality is thus imparted to the coil of wire rope so that the first crimp bar and the second crimp bar may move relative to each other to dissipate vibrational energy.
