Patent number: 8136515Abstract: A gatling gun style projectile launcher comprising an assembly of rotating, pressurized-air driven guns. A loader assembly mounted on the gun assembly rotates synchronously through mating of drive gears with the assembly of guns. The loader applies centrifugal force to the paintballs within, urging them into loader tubes positioned in the wall of the loader. Synchronous timing gears align the rotating loader tubes with cognate breech openings in the guns, thereby transferring paintballs into the firing positions from which the paintballs are launched.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2009Date of Patent: March 20, 2012Inventor: Richard Galinson

Patent number: 6338723Abstract: A device is provided for compression of objects such as parts of the body. The device has the form of a band that can be shaped like a sleeve, wrap or garment that is sized to encircle the body part or other compressible object and having a component or components made of an elastic material. Indicia such as tick marks or scales are printed on the device. The stretch of the elastic material as the device is tensioned around the body part causes increased separation of the indicia or movement of a free end of the band with respect to the indicia. A system measures the separation of the indicia and converts it to compression as a function of the circumference of the body part. The system may be a card having edges with measurement scales or the scales may be printed on the device and the displacement of a free end of a band or sub-band of the device with respect to the scales indicates the compression for particular circumferences of the body part.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1999Date of Patent: January 15, 2002Assignee: Circaid Medical Produts, Inc.Inventors: Todd Alan Carpenter, Sandra Anne Shaw, James Pope

A port having a fabric cover permits menstrual flow from the uterus to pass into the reservoir. The device, which is flexible and resilient, is folded in one end of an applicator used to insert the device into the vagina. The device is shaped to automatically fit into and remain in position over the cervix after the device is ejected from the applicator.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1999Date of Patent: December 25, 2001Assignee: Moonstruck, LLCInventors: Daniel X. Patent number: 6245501Abstract: Methods for detecting if a subject with tumor cells is at increased risk of developing tumor progression. The method involves determining the frequency of endoapoptosis in a sample of tumor tissue taken from the subject. The frequency of endoapoptosis in the tissue sample indicates whether the subject is at increased risk of developing tumor progression. Method for screening chemical agents for anti-tumor effects.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1996Date of Patent: June 12, 2001Assignee: Dalhousie UniversityInventor: Rengaswami Rajaraman

Patent number: 5960987Abstract: A container having an integral lid hinged about the wall of the container to selectively close and seal the same on demand. Integral walls extend from the bottom portion of the device to form the container, the top portion terminates in a rim and a sealing ridge. Integral to one of the walls of the container is a lid formed by a crease within one of the walls, which crease defines the bottom end of the lid. The lid's top end is matched to the shape of the top portion of the container for conforming and locking therewith in the closed position, the lid extending above the top portion of the cup, forming a spout and a lid, at least one aperture formed in the lid to facilitate dispensing of the contents from the container when the lid is in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1998Date of Patent: October 5, 1999Assignee: Flip Cup Company, LLCInventors: Kurt Solland, Glen H. Tobias

Patent number: 5910075Abstract: A portable remotely controlled automatic door closing apparatus enables the door of a room or office to be closed from a remote location within the room or office by transmitting a signal to an actuator which exerts a force on the door to move it from an opened position to a closed position. The apparatus comprises a battery or AC powered motor which moves a lever arm into engagement with the door to rotate the door about its hinges from the open to the closed position. The apparatus is free standing and immobilized on the floor in a non-connected relationship thereto between an adjacent wall and the door in its open position. The apparatus is immobilized to prevent slipping by a floor-engaging mechanism, such as an adhesive, an anti-skid rubber material, or suction cups, or carpet engaging projections.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1998Date of Patent: June 8, 1999Inventors: Louis G. Patent number: 5872089Abstract: A descalant means, comprising L.sub.E structured liquid crystals which when placed close to, or into a liquid stream, cause the formation of microscopic liquid crystalline structures, which act as nucleation sites for the formation of crystal structures of normally liquid-soluble or insoluble salts, and other suspended particles, these crystalline structures being chemically stable and causing a large reduction in the scaling potential of the liquid, thereby avoiding scale buildup on metal or other containment surfaces and also initiating descaling of surfaces already containing scale buildup. Furthermore, said means will reduce the amount of detergents, soaps, surfactants and polymers required in washing and other forms of water use.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 1996Date of Patent: February 16, 1999Assignee: American Technologies Group, Inc.Inventor: Shui-Yin Lo
