Abstract: There are provided tetrahydro-3-(4-pyridylmethyl)-2H-1,3,5-thiadiazine-2-thiones, a method for preparing the same, and a process for utilizing tetrahydro-3-(4-pyridylmethyl)-2H-1,3,5-thiadiazine-2-thiones in the control of plant pathogenic fungi.
Abstract: There is provided a process for stabilizing lime mud so as to eliminate balling during calcination of the same by incorporating a surface active agent decomposable at a temperature below 1500.degree. F into lime mud comprising calcium carbonate, filtering said treated lime mud, and thereafter calcining said treated lime mud to recover calcium oxide absent any balling during calcination.
Abstract: This invention provides for novel benzophenone ureas, a method for preparing the same, and a method for controlling undesirable broadleaf weeds and grasses therewith, wherein said benzophenone is represented by the generic formula: ##STR1## where A and B each represent hydrogen, methyl, halogen, trifluoromethyl, or methoxy; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are taken singly or in combination and represent hydrogen, lower alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, cyclohetero, loweralkylamino, lower alkenyl or lower alkynyl, with the proviso that A is either meta or para to the --NH--CO--NR.sub.1 R.sub.2 substituent.
Abstract: There is provided an ixodicidal and chemosterilant compound having the formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different and are hydrogen, straight chain or branched alkyl (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4), and R.sub.3 is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3), and a method for preparing the same, as well as ixodicidal and chemosterilant compositions containing said compound or mixtures thereof.
