  • Patent number: 4271245
Abstract: A grid base plate and its method of manufacture comprising intermittently conveying a thin elongated metallic sheet longitudinally in one direction through successive first, second and third stations, the sheet being stopped in each of the stations between successive conveying steps. In the first station, the sheet is bent to form a peripheral upwardly projecting portion in a frame region surrounding an inner grid region. In the second station, a plurality of openings are punched in the grid region and in the third station, the sheet is punched along an outer peripheral edge surface to separate the base plate from the sheet. The upwardly projecting portion forms a space with the grid region which is filled with an active material of a thickness determined by the height of the upwardly projecting portion. The upwardly projecting portion has an outer bend region with an end surface constituting a peripheral edge of the frame which faces laterally outwards and is disposed vertically.

  • Patent number: 4270860
Abstract: In the electrophotographic apparatus for printing one or more copies of a document, a photoconductive drum rotates at a constant velocity while being charged; a document feeding device advances a document through a light exposure portion at a constant speed and, an optical device projects an image of the exposed document onto the drum to form an electrostatic charge latent image thereon. A latent image is developed to form a toner image after which the toner image is transferred onto a record paper and the toner image is fixed on the record paper to form a final copy. Clock pulses in synchronism with the rotation of the photosensitive drum are produced, whereby master and slave timing pulse generators receive the clock pulses to produce timing pulses. Then a control device receives the timing pulses and produces control signals necessary to control the operation of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4270649
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling operating processes applied to particles. The device comprises a number of operating stations, such as, lifting- and sluing conveyors to allow for feeding the particles to an indexing rotary plate and conveying of particles to a processing stage, e.g. a welding device. The operating processes of the operating stations are initiated according to a common, pre-set cycle, at least one of the operating stations is associated with a correcting process initiated by a sensor arrangement for detecting faults in the operating process, for shortening the outages and for increasing the total output. The operating process involving a fault detected by the sensor arrangement is immediately interrupted, whereupon the correcting process is initiated independently of the common, pre-set cycle. The common, pre-set cycle serves to initiate dependent subsequent or previous operating processes of the operating stations until the end of the correcting process.

  • Patent number: 4269212
Abstract: The application discloses a procedure appropriate in the manipulation especially of small batches of liquid and an apparatus for carrying out the procedure, these being based on the use of valves closable by freezing and openable with the aid of electrical heating elements. The apparatus comprises an integral system composed of volumes and of conduits connecting these, wherein the conduits have been provided with said freezable valves. The transfer of liquids within the sytem is accomplished by means of control signals directed to the valve heating elements. As valve heating elements film resistances incorporated in plate-like components are employed in such manner that one component establishes a plurality of valves. At the same time these valves are connected to a common refrigerator.
