Abstract: An automotive interior trim panel has an outer flexible skin that overlies a rigid backing panel formed with a foam entry hole through which foam precursors are poured into a space between the skin and panel and they react and expand to generate a foam layer within the space. Tab projections are carried by the panel and extend into the foam space to at least partially cover the opening and provide rigid backing support for foam expanding in the region of the entry hole to control the density of the foam in this entry hole region such that it conforms more closely with the density of the immediate surrounding foam.
Abstract: The invention involves the making of a group of apertures spaced in a precise manner on a structure and including, for example, a first aperture made in a first layer and a second aperture made in a second layer which covers the first layer, the first aperture being located within the second aperture.
Abstract: Arrangement at tiller truck, at which the communication between the handle and the truck itself is done via a serial connection, for instance a serial cable (31) between a logic unit in the handle and a logic unit in the truck itself. A drive control (7, 8) includes a number of Hall-sensors (19) that are successively activated by a magnet (17) that is in turn mechanically activated, so that via a logic circuit a varied drive current is fed to the drive motor. The Hall-sensors (18) are arranged on a circuit card 19 that also include logic circuits.
A safety control (belly button) (9) that is arranged on the handle. If the belly button is depressed this is on an inward protruding arm (21) provided with a magnet 22 that at this movement is moved so that it will influence one or several Hall elements belonging to the drive control (7, 8), at which however the magnet (22) is on the other side of a circuit card (20) that carries the Hall elements.

Abstract: A method of controlling a clock, including the steps of (a) receiving an external clock signal, (b) calculating a first period of time defined as (T1-T2) wherein T1 is a cycle of the external clock signal, and T2 is a period of time during which the external clock signal is transmitted through devices generating skew to the external clock signal, (c) stopping the external clock signal to be transmitted by the first period of time, and (d) driving the external clock signal to thereby turn the external clock signal into an internal clock signal. The method makes it possible to detect delay in a clock signal, and generate no delay error inherent to a digital circuit.
Abstract: In fabrication of a semiconductor device, firstly an isolation trench is formed on a substrate to isolate a plurality of semiconductor elements, and then a thermal oxide film is formed on a sidewall of the trench, whereupon a silicon oxide film is formed on the substrate by chemical vapor deposition. Finally the entire substrate is annealed in a high-pressure ambient.

Abstract: A passenger protection apparatus for a motor vehicle is provided comprising a first interior trim member and a second interior trim member. The first interior trim member, preferably an instrument panel, is attached to the motor vehicle and the second interior trim member attached to the first interior trim member. The second trim member is attached to the first trim member such that the second interior trim member is removable from the first interior trim member without detaching the first interior tnm member from the motor vehicle The second interior trim member is located in the knee impact region of the motor vehicle and comprises a first energy management device in the form of an inflatable restraint apparatus having an airbag and an inflator.
Abstract: Atomic wires of great length and great stability are formed on the surface of a SiC substrate as straight chains of dimers of an element chosen from amongst SiC and C. In order to produce same, layers of the element are formed on the surface and the assembly is constructed by means of annealings of the surface provided with the layers. The resulting wires have application to nanoelectronics.

Abstract: Device for emission-reception of a stream of electromagnetic waves, in which an emission unit (1) and a reception unit (2) are each supplied with light energy passing through an optical guide (13). This light may be stopped by an optical gate (19). Otherwise, it reaches a micro-laser (4) that illuminates a photo-conducting sheet (5) on which an antenna (3) is located. The portions (6, 7) of the emitter antenna (3) at different potentials are then short circuited and a stream of electromagnetic waves is emitted. The wave stream passes through a medium to be studied and is returned to the receiving unit (2) in which it is sampled, recorded and analyzed to determine the composition of the medium through which it had passed. The wave stream has a wide frequency band and the opto-electronic device can be used to make a very compact system.
Abstract: According to a waste water treatment method and apparatus of the present invention, a permeable sheet 3 is fed into a treatment tank 2 in which a stream is formed. The waste water, which flows downstream, is caused to pass through the permeable sheet 3, while the permeable sheet 3 travels in the treatment tank 2 so as to traverse the surface of the waste water on a downstream side in the flowing direction of the waste water. Therefore, not only the sludge in the waste water but also the oily substances floating in the waste water can be collected and removed because they cling to the permeable sheet 3 and are gathered by it. As a result, a waste water treatment tank 2 and the like can be maintained in a usable state for a long time. In addition, there can be obtained a treated water to which microbial treatment can be applied.
Abstract: A first conductive type well layer is formed on a surface of a first conductive type semiconductor substrate. A second conductive type impurity diffusion layer having the conductive type opposite from the first conductive type is formed on a surface of this first conductive type well layer. A second conductive type well layer is formed below the first conductive type well layer. This second conductive type well layer is provided at its both ends with terminals comprising second conductive type well layers passing through the first conductive type semiconductor substrate to reach its surface.

Abstract: A perimeter weld flange comprising an inner and external perimeter wall surface and a perimeter weld lip on said flange for welding said flange onto a receiving surface. The perimeter weld flange herein is particularly suitable for weldable metal-gasketed ultra-high vacuum joints, and is also conveniently welded onto tubes, cones, ellipsoids, plates and other shapes, including even irregular shapes, in addition to spheres.
Abstract: A catalyst system for deodorization and an apparatus for deodorization, each of which comprises a pretreating catalyst and a noble metal catalyst, the pretreating catalyst converting a sulfur atom of low oxidation state which deactivates the noble metal catalyst into a sulfur atom of high oxidation state which has little deactivation effects thereon, the noble metal catalyst oxidizing aldehyde, etc., wherein a material to be deodorized is brought into contact with the pretreating catalyst prior to being brought into contact with the noble metal catalyst. As the pretreating catalyst, a catalyst comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper and oxides thereof is used, while as the noble metal catalyst, a catalyst comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, silver, rhenium, osmium, iridium, platinum and gold is used.

Abstract: A retention and release mechanism and ski boot for mitigating injury to a skier when the rearward loads, potentially injurious to the user, are imparted to the boot. The mechanism includes a first linkage arm, a latch, and a second linkage arm. The latch is connected to a first end of the first linkage arm, and is configured for direct or indirect pivotal connection to a first portion of the boot (e.g., an upper portion), which is pivotally connected to a second portion of the boot (e.g., a lower portion). The second linkage arm is pivotally connected to a second end of the first linkage arm at a pivot point, and is configured for pivotal connection to the second portion of the boot.
Abstract: In a food and drink circulating conveyer passage 1 disposed along an eating and drinking counter 3 for conveying and supplying food and drink, a tunnel unit 5 which has at least one side formed to a curved portion having a prescribed radius of curvature is disposed on the conveyer passage and slide rails 10 are disposed to guide the opening and closing doors along the curved portion in an up and down direction, wherein when the opening and closing doors have been moved to an upper position of the tunnel unit, they are disengaged from the slide rails and can be removed from the tunnel unit.
Abstract: A DVS-BCB polymer film is grown by heating a divinyl siloxane bisbenzocyclobutene (DVS-BCB) monomer in a vaporization controller with continuously supplying; supplying a carrier gas and maintaining a partial pressure of the DVS-BCB monomer at a state lower than a saturated vapor pressure, thereby to vaporize the monomer; transporting the carrier gas containing the DVS-BCB monomer from the vaporization controller to an evacuated reaction chamber; and spraying the gas on the heated surface of a substrate in the reaction chamber.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a semiconductor device has a step whereby, when forming a gate oxide film, a thin oxide film is left on a silicon substrate onto which it is formed and whereby a heavy metal at the surface of the silicon substrate is diffused into the substrate, and a step of forming a gate oxide film onto the silicon substrate.
