Abstract: A buffer battery power supply circuit is provided. In one embodiment, a battery charger circuit supplies a total output current which is delivered to both an active system and a battery. The total output current and the current delivered to a battery are sensed and compared to a preset threshold total output current signal and threshold battery current signal, respectively. The compared signals generate error signals which are provided as feedback to the battery charger circuit, so that the total output current can be controlled. In another embodiment, in addition to sensing the total output current and the battery current, the total output voltage is sensed and multiplied by the total output current, generating a total output power error signal. The error signals are provided as feedback to the battery charger circuit, so that the total output current and/or the total output voltage can be controlled.

Abstract: A solenoid actuated door lock has a latch keeper which normally is in a locking position to prevent opening of a door. The latch keeper is maintained locked by a locking means which prevents movement of the latch keeper to an unlocked position. The locking means is moved by operation of a solenoid to a position where the keeper can release the door.
Abstract: A recording film has recording tracks that record information and separating regions that separate neighboring recording tracks. A recording film reflects light when performing recording, playback, and erasing of information. A protective film has a pattern of surface unevenness that corresponds with the recording racks and separating regions, and has a thickness at a recording track whereby there is a change in reflectivity of the reflective film depending upon whether or not there is information recorded, and a thickness at the separating regions such that reflectivity does not depend upon whether information is recorded.
Abstract: An electron-beam exposure system is constructed using electromagnetic lenses, apertures and an electron-beam mask, which are arranged and aligned in line between an electron source and a substrate. Within a trajectory of an electron beam that is radiated from the electron source and is then irradiated onto the substrate, crossover planes emerge with respect to electrons of the electron beam. The electron-beam mask is arranged at one crossover plane, while the aperture is arranged at another crossover plane. In addition, one aperture is an object aperture that narrows down the electron beam in sectional shape and size.

The staple is deformable, and includes a plurality of tissue-piercing prongs which are expanded outwardly, inserted into tissue and collapsed inwardly to close the wound. The stapler includes a plurality of mechanisms to deform the staple into various positions. An introducer is provided that includes a plurality of spaced-apart wire guides for securing and centering the wound opening during a medical procedure, and during closure of the wound.
Abstract: An insulation film is formed on a first single crystal silicon substrate, e.g., a hydrogen anneal substrate, an intrinsic gettering substrate and an epitaxial substrate. Hydrogen implantation is carried out from a surface of this insulation film, thereby forming a hydrogen implantation region in the first single crystal silicon substrate. Then, by carrying out a thermal treatment at 400 to 500° C., voids are formed in the hydrogen implantation region, and the first single crystal silicon substrate is cleaved therefrom. Next, the surface of the insulation film and a surface of a second single crystal silicon substrate are laminated and then, they are subjected to a thermal treatment at 1,000° C. or higher. With this method, the adverse influence, on a device, of defects in the substrate can be reduced and a yield can be enhanced.

Abstract: A light emitting semiconductor element comprises a first additive layer which is added into a cladding layer or a middle layer. The first additive layer has a lattice constant which is different from a lattice constant of a semiconductor substrate. The light emitting semiconductor element is attached to a heat sink to form a laser device. The heat sink gives deformation to the light emitting semiconductor element. The first additive layer generates strain therein and suppresses influence of the deformation.
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device is provided, which prevents the characteristic of storage capacitors from degrading without chip-area increase of memory cells. Each of storage capacitors has a dielectric sandwiched by lower and upper electrodes. The lower electrodes are formed by a patterned, common electrically-conductive layer. The dielectrics are formed by a patterned, common ferroelectric layer formed on the common electrically-conductive layer which is entirely overlapped with the common electrically-conductive layer. The upper electrodes are regularly arranged on the common ferroelectric layer and are located outside the rows and columns of a matrix array where the windows of the common electrically-conductive layer and common ferroelectric layer are aligned. Wiring lines are formed over the upper electrodes through an interlayer insulating layer covering the storage capacitors, thereby electrically connecting the upper electrodes and select transistors.
Abstract: An interterminal anti-short-circuiting pattern is formed in an upper metal wire included in a connection terminal 3, for connecting to external driving LSI and the like, located on the projected portion of a bottom glass substrate 2. This pattern includes recess 4 and island 5 on which a contact hole 12a is formed through a protective insulating film. The protective insulating film has high residence to water penetration. Spread of the corrosion can be shut off by the recess surrounding the island. Short circuit occurrence due to interterminal current leak can be inhibited under high moisture conditions in the semiconductor device used for active matrix display, e.g. LCD panel.
Abstract: A semiconductor substrate is dipped into a contaminating treatment liquid whose pH value is controlled depending on the property of metal impurities, so as to produce a sample contaminated with metal of a desired concentration. Alternatively, a semiconductor substrate is kept in a hermetic container along with desired organic matter so as to produce a sample contaminated with the organic matter in the form of vapor obtained through vapor-liquid or vapor-solid equilibrium.

First skin portion comprises a receptacle and a second skin portion comprises a protrusion. When connected, a portion of the protrusion in mechanical engagement with a portion of the receptacle to join the first skin portion and the second skin portion.

Abstract: The present invention provides a electrical double layer capacitor that can prevent the leakage of an electrolyte solution to the outside that is caused by the fractures occurring in the collectors, and thereby both the yield during manufacture processing and the reliability can be improved. Chamfered portions 20 are formed on the corners that are the border between components that are adjacent to the surfaces 12a and 12a of the polarizing electrodes 12 that do not contact a separator 11 and a collector 13, and thereby, the stress focus on these corners, which occurs easily at the contacting portions between the polarizing electrode 12 and the collector 13, occurs with difficulty.
Abstract: A method for establishing conditions of making an index representing characteristics of a MOSFET in a permitted range by means of differentially injecting ions into a wafer. The method includes the steps of: making a curve indicating an amount of energy contamination with respect to a junction depth, and determining a permitted amount of energy contamination with respect to a desired junction depth. A MOSFET having substantially no deterioration of the characteristics can be obtained by referring to the curve, and establishing a degree of vacuum of and/or a distance of a beam line.
Abstract: The present invention enables to preferably correct mark patterns reproduced in parallel from a magnetic tape. A mark detection block 204 successively identifies as one of the plurality mark patterns a plurality of binary data reproduced in parallel from the magnetic tape, and confirms a mark pattern whose reproduction time has reached a reference time. A mark holding block 211 holds a mark pattern whose reproduction is integrated. A mark pattern discontinuity detection block 121 detects a discontinuity and the discontinuity integrating block 213 counts the number of discontinuity times. This discontinuous number of times and the mark pattern held are output together with the confirmed mark pattern, thus correcting the mark pattern appropriately.
