Abstract: A dry powder inhaler has a vibrator coupled to a blister filled with a dry powder drug substance. One or more of drug ejection apertures in the blister are substantially opposite the vibrator. One or more air intake apertures in the blister are not opposite the vibrator. Upon vibration of the vibrator, the drug substance is deaggregated, aerosolized, and ejected from the drug ejection apertures for inhalation by a patient.

Abstract: A release device, particularly for a motor vehicle door, comprises a base body intended to be applied on the outer face of a door, having an axial appendage that can be inserted in a corresponding opening of the door. The axial appendage includes a tubular portion provided with a bottom wall having a hole intended to be slidably engaged by a cylindrical member projecting axially from a button to be associated with the base body with a possibility of a relative movement. The tubular portion has connection means for allowing a switch unit to be removably fastened, which switch unit can be operated as a result of an axial movement of a free end of the cylindrical member of the button.

Abstract: The system contains an output device in communication with the programmable device. The output device produces output information from the programmable device to the individual. An input device is in communication with the programmable device. The individual communicates a responsive act to the programmable device through the input device. The responsive act will include at least one psychomotor behavioral element. A processor integral with the programmable device determines the preferred modalities of the individual based, at least partially, on the psychomotor behavioral element of the responsive act from the individual. The processor also determines a preferred combination of modalities and an ordering of modalities by preference thereby further defining a focus of the individual's attention. Abstract: In order to simplify the assembly of a shielded connector, it is proposed that an electrically insulating base body provided as a carrier for electric contacts features a mounting surface with two openings, wherein a recess that respectively features an integral collar on its inner side is respectively arranged around these openings. In addition, the base body is provided with lateral fastening elements that respectively feature a window formed by a frame. The frame can be positively fitted into the appropriate recess by bending the fastening elements such that the fastening element is positively and non-positively fixed on the base body. An electrically conductive shielding element that largely surrounds the base body contacts the fastening elements that, in turn, contact ground strips on the circuit board such that the connector is shielded from external voltages.

Abstract: A shaft sealing device in which a load acting on a sliding section of the device is reduced to extend the life of the device and which permits no leakage of fluid in a machine to an atmospheric air. The shaft sealing device has seals arranged in three stages in the axial direction between a seal case and a rotating shaft passed through the inner periphery of the seal case. A first-stage seal on the machine's inner side and a third-stage seal on the machine's outer side have contact type mechanical seal structures in which a rotational sealing element and a stationary sealing element are in close sliding contact with each other. The intermediate second-stage seal has a contactless mechanical seal structure in which a rotational sealing element and a stationary sealing element are kept by dynamic pressure so as not to be in contact with each other.

Abstract: The bottom side of an N type silicon substrate is connected to a power supply terminal, a second P type epitaxial layer is formed on all sides of the N type silicon substrate, and a device forming portion is provided on the second P type epitaxial layer. A first P type epitaxial layer and an interlayer insulating film are provided on the device forming portion and an N well and a P well are formed on the top surface of the first P type epitaxial layer. The second P type epitaxial layer is connected to a ground terminal via the first P type epitaxial layer, the P well, a p+ diffusion region, a via and a wire. Accordingly, a pn junction is formed at the interface between the second P type epitaxial layer and the N type silicon substrate.

Abstract: A control valve includes a diaphragm assembly imparting a biasing force to a moving member according to the pressure introduced into the pressure-sensitive part. The moving member is moved by the biasing force to control the valve opening. The control valve further includes a solenoid part which imparts the thrust of the diaphragm assembly produced according to the pressure introduced into the pressure-sensitive part to the moving member through a diaphragm holding body as a biasing force, and imparts a biasing force capable of controlling the valve opening in cooperation with the afore-said biasing force to the moving member.

Abstract: There is disclosed a single space parking meter that includes a low powered radio for communicating with a mobile access point. There is also provided a parking meter management system comprising a single space parking meter and a mobile access point. The mobile access point comprises a coin collection cart, and a mobile data collection terminal including a wireless radio for communicating with the wireless radio of the single space parking meter. Also disclosed is a method of managing single space parking meters comprising the steps of collecting and storing meter information in a single space parking meter, receiving at a main electronics board of the single space parking meter a transmit signal, and transmitting the meter information to a mobile access point using a low powered radio of the single space parking meter.

Abstract: A powder dispensing container is provided, the container divided into a powder storage chamber and a powder dispensing chamber with an opening between the two controlled by a valve mechanism. A cap or closure member is disposed over an upper open end of a powder dispensing chamber and when opened, causes a closure of the valve mechanism. When the cover is returned to its closed position, the valve will automatically open allowing for new charge of powder form the storage chamber to enter into the dispensing chamber. The closure member is provided with an actuator that extends through the powder dispensing chamber and engages and causes operation of the valve mechanism.

Abstract: It has been demanded to improve the poor solubility of curcumin to develop an anti-tumor compound capable of inhibiting the growth of various cancer cells at a low concentration. Thus, disclosed is a novel synthetic compound, a bis(arylmethylidene)acetone, which has both of an excellent anti-tumor activity and a chemo-preventive activity. A bis(arylmethylidene)acetone (i.e., a derivative having a curcumin skeleton) which is an anti-tumor compound and has a chemo-preventive activity is synthesized and screened. A derivative having enhanced anti-tumor activity and chemo-preventive activity can be synthesized.

Abstract: A method and system method for e-mail management of e-mails having embedded classification metadata. A query from an end user to access an e-mail account by an e-mail client is received. It is then determined whether the query has come from an insecure e-mail client, such as a web e-mail client. Access rules for defining classification access restrictions for the e-mail client to access e-mail in the e-mail account are retrieved when the e-mail client is determined to be insecure. The e-mail query can then be modified before sending to an e-mail server storing the email account. The query is modified based on the retrieved access rules to exclude retrieval of e-mails based upon the e-mail classification metadata.

Abstract: A method for operating a demodulator to demodulate a first channel is provided. The demodulator stores parameters of a second channel that is scanned before the first channel. The method comprises the following steps. First, the demodulator is reset. Second, an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing acquisition is processed to search Transmission Parameter Signaling and mode/guard interval parameters for the first channel and using the parameters of the second channel to process a forward error correction acquisition for the first channel. Third, a determining step is performed to determine whether or not the forward error correction for the first channel is locked and the Transmission Parameter Signaling for the first channel are not locked. Finally, the parameters of the second channel is used to demodulate the first channel when the forward error correction of the first channel is locked and the Transmission Parameter Signaling of the first channel are not locked.

Abstract: A window buck is formed of side walls that are extruded from vinyl. The side walls have interior channels. The side walls may be formed to effect a female-male connection between the ends of two adjoining side walls. Alternatively a locking member is provided that is sized to frictionally engage a selected channel. The edges of the side members are shaped for abutment to each other with a connector in the channels to hold the window buck together. The window buck thereafter may be placed before the cement wall is formed and is sized to receive a window frame. The window buck may be formed into selected geometric shapes. Window bucks of different dimensions may be assembled by selected sides of different dimensions from bins or pallets of presized side members.
