  • Patent number: 5935692
Abstract: A transfer composite for in-mold decoration of molded plastic or rubber articles complexing a casting substrate having a controlled release surface, and a thin discontinuously printed pressure sensitive adhesive tape-strippable pattern deposited on the casting substrate, whereby the transfer composite is suitable for inserting into a mold and adapted to resist print-distorting movement during flow of plastics or rubbers in the mold, yet capable of permanently bonding to the molded article without the use of adhesives. After removal from the mold the casting substrate and the controlled release surface are stripped from the decorated article.

  • Patent number: 5929005
Abstract: This invention provides graffiti removers for removing permanent ink stains from painted surfaces. The graffiti removers include an active solvent for dissolving the stains, which are organic in nature, an optional secondary solvent for concentrated attack on the stain without being adversely affected by dilution with water, an emollient for maintaining a uniform dispersion of particulates in the remover and on the graffiti-stained painted surfaces, and an amorphous, particulate, mildly abrasive filler for imbibing the solvents, the filler being selected to permit the slow release of the active solvent.

  • Patent number: 5925208
Abstract: Polymeric sheets or rolls suitable for printing and forming at high rates of production of blown or injection in-mold labeled plastic containers are based on a polymeric transparent, translucent or contact clear substrate having a thickness in the range of 0.002 to 0.008 inches which is reverse printed and overcoated on the container-facing side with a heat activatable adhesive and coated or extruded on the opposite side with an antistatic and/or slip coating. Optionally, such sheet or roll can be printed and then cut into individual labels for affixing to the container as part of a in-molding process. Recyclable containers are provided at high speed without missing labels or doubled labels due to feeding problems. The labels are firmly adherent, and squeeze-release resistant and the indicia, because they are viewable through the labels themselves, are protected against spillage and abrasion.

  • Patent number: 5917506
Abstract: A fast data alignment display queue structure for image block transfer comprises a shift circuit, a bit mask, a multi-layer FIFO buffer and a plurality of multiplexers, wherein input data are shifted a desired number of bytes by the shift circuit, and written to the FIFO buffer, and then the data in each level of the FIFO buffer are read by an external DRAM. By using the structure above, a block can be shifted to right or left by filling the data to the FIFO buffer in the sequence started from the first level or in the sequence started from the last level. Therefore, shifting operation for a block can be implemented in different directions without additional transfer logic.

  • Patent number: 5912660
Abstract: A computer mouse for blind users and a method for its use. The mouse has a display area on its upper surface in which a portion of the computer's screen display is reproduced in tactile form, for example by raising and lowering members of an array of pins. A monochrome display is encoded by pin height. A color display may be encoded in various ways. Preferably, lightness is encoded as the range of vertical motion of the pins and hue is encoded as pin motion frequency. A blind user scans the screen display by moving the mouse around on a mouse pad and feeling the relative heights and frequencies of the pins.

  • Patent number: 5906841
Abstract: The present inventions relates to a mold for forming a one piece flip-top cap and process for making such a cap. A mold for forming and closing the one piece flip-top cap prior to ejection from the mold includes a first mold part, an inner core mold part and a second mold part movable into relationship with the first mold part and the inner core mold so as to form a mold cavity therebetween. The mold produces a one piece flip-top cap with a living hinge between the body and lid of the cap and which is maintained in a closed position upon ejection from the mold. Pull straps are used to ensure full closure of the cap lid to the body prior to ejection.

  • Patent number: 5905218
Abstract: A device for connecting two drum pedals of a drum includes an outer tube, an inner rod and a resilient strip. The outer tube defines therein an axial hexagonal (tetragonal) hole. A first end of the outer tube forms a recess on a periphery thereof having a plurality of screw holes and a through hole defined from a circumference of the outer tube to the outer surface of the recess. The inner rod is received in the hexagonal hole of the outer tube and defines a cutout in an appropriate position of a circumference thereof. The resilient strip is received in the recess of the outer tube and abuts the inner rod. A first end of the resilient strip has a protrusion integrally extending from one end thereof to be received in the through hole of the outer tube and a second end of the resilient strip is retained by the cutout of the inner rod. With this arrangement, the device for connecting two drum pedals can prevent damage to the inner rod and separation from the outer tube.

  • Patent number: 5901456
Abstract: A device for measuring distance between walls of coaxial cylindrical screens is provided. Rotation of motors is rotated to screw bars and rotation of the screw bars is converted to translational movement of gauge bars. The numbers of rotation of the screw bars corresponding to length of projection of the gauge bars from their withdrawn positions to positions at which they abut against wall surfaces of the screens are measured by rotary encoders and the distance between wall surfaces of the screens thereby is measured. A main body of the device is fixed between the wall surfaces of the screens by means of the projecting gauge bar and a pair of main body supporing units.

  • Patent number: 5903778
Abstract: A method for enabling traditional SCSI peripheral equipment to be compatible with a PLUG-AND-PLAY protocol comprising steps of: selecting an SCSI peripheral device as an object and assigning a predetermined identification number to the selected SCSI peripheral device; periodically detecting the signal status on an SCSI bus so as to change a specific signal level to thus communicate with a host computer which determines whether the assigned identification number is permitted; and delaying a time period during the detection of the signal status on the SCSI bus when the permission to assign an identification number has not been determined, and abandoning the assigned identification number when the same identification number has been found to be used by another SCSI peripheral device.
