Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for joining elements forming jeweller articles, such as precious metals and pearls, which device comprises: a pair of pin arranged at respective cross sections of a metal half-ring shaped link, made of a precious material; a pair of opposite holes arranged on the outer surface of a pearl so that the pair of pins can be housed in the holes to form a coupling element between the pearl and the metal ring-shaped link.
Abstract: A heat pump type air conditioning apparatus is disclosed. In the apparatus, a first heat exchanger is mounted to a refrigerant conduit at a position between an indoor heat exchanger and a heater-mode capillary tube. A second heat exchanger is mounted to the conduit at a position between an outdoor heat exchanger and a four way valve while being positioned higher than the first heat exchanger. The first and second heat exchangers are filled with actuation fluid and vaporize both remaining liquid refrigerant and incompletely vaporized gaseous refrigerant from the outdoor heat exchanger using the actuation fluid vaporized by liquid refrigerant from the indoor heat exchanger. In another embodiment, an auxiliary heating unit is connected to the first heat exchanger and is operated when the temperature of atmospheric air is exceedingly low in days of cold weather. In the auxiliary heating unit, a third heat exchanger is mounted to the first heat exchanger.

Abstract: A device is provided for coupling a short-axle type motor with a pump, wherein the motor has a first side and a second side, and a short axle rotatably extending through the first side of the motor. The coupling device includes a large disk having a first side fixedly mounted on the first side of the motor and a second side, and defining a first center hole for passage of the short axle, a small disk having a first side fixedly mounted on the second side of the large disk and a second side, and defining a second center hole communicating with the first center hole, and a coupling having a first side connected with the short axle of the motor and a second side connected with a spindle of a pump. In such a manner, the large disk co-operating with the small disk can be adapted to couple a motor with a pump of different sizes.
Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions consisting essentially of a narrow dispersity trimethylsilylated silica in a volatile and/or non-volatile silicone-aliphatic hydrocarbon hybrid fluid. Improvements in the range of properties and benefits, which the mixtures of the present invention may provide, include a broad range of viscosities, from about 100 cs to about 10000 cs, a higher % trimethylsiloxysilicate, a wider range of sensory profiles, and non-occlusivity or occlusivity. In all cases the mixtures are both clear and safe for human contact.

Abstract: A fastener for fastening a strap to an article having an end pin attached thereto, the fastener having a retention portion and an engagement portion defining a fastener aperture where movement of the engagement portion relative to the retention portion acts to close the fastener aperture about a reduced diameter portion of the end pin. A locking mechanism restricts movement of the engagement portion thereby maintaining the fastener aperture in its engagement position.

The sliding rest has two securing members that fit around the outer surface of the parallel bars of the handle wherein the securing members allow the rest to be secured to the handle in slidable relation.
Abstract: A press for processing and recovering preselected solid urban waste and the like comprises a hopper which is operatively coupled to a pressing device for reducing the volume of the waste which, in a pressed condition, is conveyed by the pressing device to a cutting device designed for forming the waste into preset cross-section rods.
Abstract: A method of drying objects includes the steps of placing the objects into a pressure reduction tank, placing a metallic element having a single or plural number of sharp edge into the pressure reduction tank, subjecting the objects to controlled microwave heating and controlled far infrared heating either separately or simultaneously, detecting an electrical discharge at the sharp edge of the metallic element due to microwave energy, stopping or pausing the microwave heating when an electrical discharge is detected at the single or plural number of sharp edge of the metallic element, continuously measuring the change in reduced pressure at prescribed time intervals after the microwave heating has been stopped or paused upon detecting an electrical discharge due to microwave energy, and terminating the drying process when the measured change in reduced pressure reaches a predetermined target reduced pressure change value determined in accordance with the level of dryness selected and the type of the objects be
Abstract: A method for inducing neuromuscular blockade is described which is based on the administration to a surgical patient of an amount of a drug comprising tetrabutylammonium or a mixture of tetrabutylammonium and tetrapropylammonium which is effective to induce a neuromuscular block. In addition, there is disclosed the method of combining a non depolarizing muscle relaxant with the tetrabutylammonium or tetraproplyammonium compound to provide a neuromuscular block which requires a reduced dosage of both drugs.
