Abstract: A self-closing tilting valve which is insertable in a valve mounting provided in the lid of a container filled with product under pressure, comprises a substantially rigid mandrel member having a base part and a tip part, and an enveloping member surrounding said mandrel member and having a foot part and a head part with an outlet opening. At least one passageway for product from the container leads along the mandrel member to the outlet opening, and at least one obturating face is provided on the inner wall of the enveloping member and a corresponding counter-face on the mandrel member in the region of said passageway, contact between said obturating face and said counter-face obturating said passageway in closed position. The tip part of said mandrel member and the head part of said enveloping member bear contact faces remaining in contact with each other during closed as well as during open position.

Abstract: A hand-held device for the local heat treatment of a patient's skin comprises a casing composed of a lower treatment part having a bottom wall with an external treatment face, and an upper handle part, and an electric heating unit in the treatment part comprising a power transistor with a cooling vane and a heat sensor, the cooling vane and the heat sensor being in heat transfer contact with the interior surface of the bottom wall, and an electric circuit unit inside the treatment part for controlling electric current flow through the power transistor depending on temperature variations detected in the bottom wall by the heat sensor. The circuit is fed low voltage direct current from a source therefor.

Abstract: Using windows with reflectors and roof elements with a triangular pyramidal structure, the natural sun rays of the entire spectral range from infra-red to ultra-violet are spread at least in a major part of the room in a controlled diffuse manner. Local excessive illumination and overheating of the room in the vicinity of the window are thereby prevented. In case of insufficient natural lighting, fluorescent lights permit a large-area, uniform overall room illumination. As regards rooms with flat roofs, additional light may be introduced in diffusely controlled manner into room by truncated pyramidal roof domes. The roof elements may comprise baffles by means of which acousting dampening openings can be adjusted individually for the purpose of additionally controlling the sound waves generated in the room. The invention allows creating conditions of optimal comfort in a room while simultaneously saving on auxiliary energy by using the natural energy of radiation in a controlled manner.

Abstract: A sealed can or similar container having a can body the wall of which is internally lined with a coating is sealed with a deep-drawn membrane in a manner which leaves on the inside of the can wall surrounding a can top opening an annular zone uncovered by said membrane, but with the coating of the can wall intact, which annular zone extends between a lower internal edge of a rim-covering part of the membrane and the upper edge of a collar part of the membrane, which collar part is integral with, and extends upwardly from and surrounds a flat part of the membrane which covers the said can opening, and which collar part is glued or welded to the inside of the can wall beneath said uncovered zone. A preformed closure element destined for sealing fastening in a can opening, a process and apparatus for producing a rupturing zone in which preformed closure element, and a process and apparatus for manufacturing a sealed can with the aid of the preformed closure element are also described.

Abstract: The invention relates to a closure means for instance seated on a bottle and hermetically sealing it. The closure means preferably is shaped like a cap comprising at least one slitting by means of which the side wall of the cap spreads when being set. The cap furthermore comprises an inside annular bead and a sealing collar for hermetically sealing the cap onto the bottle. The cap further comprises a lift-off element for easy reopening and at least one tear-off tensioning member spanning the slitting so as to counteract spreading and acting as a warranty signet.

Abstract: A rotary brush for applying paint to surfaces comprises a housing, a rotatable hollow cylindrical body which bears on the cylindrical surface a plurality of brush units, motor means, passage means for supplying paint from a supply channel to the bristles of the brush units, and a number of stationary guide rings mounted rigidly in the housing and guidingly surrounding the rotatable cylindrical body. The guide rings are disposed in zones transverse to the axis of the cylindrical body and distributed over the length of the same. Each ring bears a slidable bearing means adapted for bearing, for instance with a loose wheel at its free end, against the surface to be painted, thus relieving pressure of the bristles on the surface to be painted.

Abstract: A box for cigarettes, cigars or the like smoking units comprises a box body having a longitudinally displaceable slide cover. A lifting hoop or stirrup of spring wire serves for lifting the smoking units at one end, while the cover has been partly removed. The wire hoop has two ends which are inserted in opposite side portions of the box body, and two legs which are depressed into corresponding grooves of the body by the cover when the latter is completely closed, as well as a cross portion which extends across the top face of the box body and which is raised, the legs adjacent the cross portion being biassed upwardly away from the box front face when the cover is partly slid away therefrom to expose the larger portion of the hoop.
