  • Patent number: 5999514
Abstract: A unique VPCI is defined for each of subscriber lines #A and #B, which are accommodated in an ATM switch. Conventionally, attribute data indicating subscriber attributes can be defined only for each of the subscriber line units #A and #B as a unit. However, the attribute data can be defined for each virtual path whose VPCI is used as the unit according to the present invention. Accordingly, it can easily be implemented, for example, to make different communication forms for each of different subscriber accommodation location numbers belonging to the same subscriber.

  • Patent number: 5987071
Abstract: A digital modulator and digital demodulator with quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) schemes, which are designed to modulate or demodulate RZ-coded baseband signals. The digital modulator comprises first to fourth roll-off filters and a first and second inverters connected to the second and fourth roll-off filters. It also comprises a parallel-to-serial converter to successively selects the outputs of the first roll-off filter, third roll-off filter, first inverter, and second inverter. A D/A converter converts the selected digital signal stream into an analog signal. The roll-off filters and inverters operate at a predetermined clock frequency, while the parallel-to-serial converter and the D/A converter work at a frequency four times the predetermined clock frequency. The digital demodulator reverses the above modulation process to reproduce the baseband signals.

  • Patent number: 5982296
Abstract: A plurality of modules, each connected to communication lines, are interconnected by a logically separated interprocessor communication bus for transferring header information and control information and a frame transfer bus for transferring data. When each module receives data from a line, the module generates a header containing header information from the received data, stores the header and user data in respective queue-type data storage sections, and transmits the header on the interprocessor communication bus; when one of the other modules detects its own identification from the header on the bus, the module sends a data send request to the transmitting module which in response reads the data from the data storage and outputs it on the frame transfer bus for transmission to the requesting module.

  • Patent number: 5983199
Abstract: An on-line shopping system is provided which enables users to do shopping by referring to on-line advertisements posted on home pages. A WWW server and an exchange are connected in one-to-one correspondence. The exchange finally receives a PPP dial-up from a user device and thus can be informed of the originating number of the user device. First information about the connection of the user device to the WWW server is stored in storage unit after the transmitting port number accompanying the first information is converted to a corresponding line number. Also, second information (originating number) about the connection of the user device, obtained at the exchange, is stored in the storage unit together with a line number. In the storage unit, the first information and the second information are combined through the agency of the line number.

  • Patent number: 5974045
Abstract: An OEM processing device for supporting operations, administration, and maintenance (OAM) in an ATM network, whose control circuit has a simplified configuration that avoids duplexity of common functions, thus realizing reduced size and less power consumption. A VPI/VCI extractor extracts VPI/VCI from each incoming ATM cell, while an alarm detector detects a physical layer alarm. An entry data memory stores a plurality of VPIs/VCIs that have been previously registered. When the extracted VPI/VCI is found in the registered VPIs/VCIs in the entry data memory, a VPI/VCI coincidence signal will be generated. When a physical layer alarm is detected by the alarm detector, all the relevant VPIs related to the detected alarm will be generated by using the same entry data memory. A VP-AIS cell generator then produces VP-AIS cells corresponding to the generated VPIs and inserts them into the current ATM cell stream.
