Abstract: A connector for demountably attaching a large scale integrated circuit package to a backpanel includes a base receptacle mounted on the backpanel with contact means therein which are in contact with the backpanel. In the preferred embodiment, the base receptacle is adapted to receive a leadless circuit package therein with the terminals of the package in alignment with the contact means of the base receptacle, and the base receptacle is provided with upstanding headed studs. A cover having apertures formed therein is mounted atop the base receptacle so that lateral movement of the cover relative to the base causes interaction of the studs with the apertures to load the terminals of the circuit package into conductive contact with the contact means of the base receptacle and to demountably lock the cover in place atop the base.

Abstract: An improved integrated circuit package and connector therefor. The circuit package is provided with a flexible stripline terminal integrally extending from at least one side thereof to serve as leads by which electrical interconnection is made with the internal circuitry thereof, and the connector is for demountably attaching that package to a backpanel. The connector includes a base receptacle mounted on the backpanel for aligningly receiving the integrated circuit package so that the stripline leads are in registry with terminal pads provided on the backpanel, and the base receptacle has headed studs upstanding therefrom. A cover having apertured inclined plane means formed therein is mounted atop the base receptacle so that lateral movement of the cover receptacle relative to the base results in interaction of the studs with the inclined planes to deflect the cover downwardly and lock it in place on the base.

Abstract: A game involving the financial gains and losses associated with the operation of an electric utility plant. The game includes a playing board having three chance devices mounted thereon and having a plurality of playing sections marked off along its marginal portions and a special playing section marked off in a line across the board. The game also includes a plurality of Loss Report Cards, a plurality of Gain Report Cards, a plurality of Plant Down Report Cards, playing pieces and a Gain and Loss Score Card for each player with markers for scorekeeping purposes.

Abstract: After curing, cementitious blocks carried on a pallet are moved by a conveyor to a transfer apparatus which removes the blocks from the pallet and transfers them to another conveyor for delivery to a cubing mechanism. The transfer apparatus is provided with a block lift turn-over mechanism and a block push-off mechanism with those mechanisms selectively operable to provide two distinctive operational modes as necessitated by the types of blocks being transferred and the desired block attitude.

Abstract: A self-contained mechanism for the preparation handling and application of liquified materials such as coating compounds, joint sealers, crack fillers, waterproofing compounds and the like, is provided with an especially configured materials tank having primary and secondary materials heating devices and a unique engine driven hydraulic system which allows reversible and variable speed operation of the materials mixing, delivery, and cleanout devices and systems.

Abstract: A folding arm rest for attachment to individually mounted seats of the type commonly provided in automotive and marine vehicles. The arm rest includes an elongated strap secured beneath the seat so as to extend laterally therefrom. An upstanding standard is carried on the extending end of the strap and an arm rest is foldably carried atop the standard.

Abstract: An apparatus for sensing temperature, humidity, air movement and mean radiation so that those factors which effect human comfort may be correlated to determine effective temperatures. The apparatus includes a thermometer which is capable of simultaneously sensing dry bulb temperature, wet bulb temperature and mean radiation to produce a temperature reading indicative of the combination of those factors. Wind speed indicators are provided for use with temperature correction charts so that the air movement factor can be correlated with the temperature, humidity and mean radiation factors to arrive at a comfort index, or effective temperature.

Abstract: Organic materials are fed tangentially into the head of a centrifugal mill by an adjustable rate feeding device. The materials, either in a dry state or in conjunction with a separately supplied liquid carrier, move downwardly through a compacter device which positively feeds the materials through a series of comminution devices which are arranged in an inverted conical housing and are of decreasingly smaller sizes, with the comminution means shredding the materials. The top of the mill is open to freely admit air which is admixed by the communition devices with the materials to satisfy the biochemical oxygen demand so that the output product of the mill is odor free and finely shredded.

Abstract: A baby pouch which supports an infant in a position in front of a person wearing the pouch with the latter being supported from the neck of the person. The pouch consists essentially of a fabric back support and a front panel integrally joined to the back support by a neck-like crotch portion. Lateral extensions are integral with the front panel and have end portions formed with detachable fastening elements which are connected after the extensions are wrapped around the back support with the baby positioned on its front. A head rest extends across the upper edge of the back support. A pair of straps are adjustable as to length and each of them has one end secured to the upper end of the back support at one side with the other end having means for adjusting the length of the strap and detachably securing it to the front panel.

Abstract: A system including an evacuator apparatus, an especially configured centrifugal mill, and a self cleaning screen is employed for treatment of aqueous sewage. The system expedites satisfaction of the biochemical oxygen demand and separates the solids from the sewage so that the treated water is suitable for uses such as irrigation, equipment cooling and the like, and the separated solids are suitable for use in fertilizers.

Abstract: A material handling apparatus including a forklift assembly for attachment to a hanger bracket carried on the front end of an automotive vehicle of the type which may travel over roads and highways. The forklift assembly and hanger bracket are both especially configured for demountable attachment of the forklift assembly, and to allow pivotal movement thereof relative to the hanger bracket so that tilting of the forklift assembly may be accomplished without the vehicle's close proximity restricting such movements.

Abstract: An air conditioning structure having a depending centrally located outlet opening and auxiliary air inlets disposed laterally with respect thereto in combination with an air handling mechanism coupled to the outlet and auxiliary air inlets thereof. The air handling mechanism is located within a special support frame for the air conditioning structure, with the frame being adapted to retain and protect insulative material adjacent the exterior surfaces of the air handler mechanism. The air handling mechanism includes a central supply duct for conducting air from the air conditioning structure to a point of use and has a pair of laterally disposed return air handler ducts for conducting and treating the air returned from the point of use to the air conditioning structure, and further includes an exhaust duct extending from the supply duct by which air from the point of use may optionally be exhausted to ambient.

Abstract: A multi-mode solar heating and cooling system including a solar collector/heat exchanger unit for heating air and/or liquid has an air compartment through which air from a point of use is circulated, and has a liquid compartment through which liquid is circulated from a liquid storage tank. An evaporator unit for chilling air and liquid by evaporation has an air moving device for selectively supplying chilled air directly to the point of use of diverting that air, and is connected to the liquid storage tank for chilling of the liquid therein. Thus, the liquid from the tank may be selectively circulated through the evaporator unit or through the solar collector/heat exchanger unit for appropriate heating or chilling of the liquid which may be simultaneously or subsequently employed for treating the air circulating through the solar collector/heat exchanger unit.

Abstract: A one piece molded pool structure configured to define a pool compartment having a seat formed therein below the water line and having an equipment compartment for housing water circulation and flow control equipment. Water from the pool compartment moves through the circulation equipment and by selective positioning of the flow control equipment, is returned under pressure to the pool compartment either through a first hydro-jet distribution manifold located below the water line or through a second hydro-jet distribution manifold located above the water line. A waterfall superstructure may be formed on the pool which allows the water from the circulation equipment to be optionally returned to the pool compartment through a waterfall manifold located in the upper end thereof.
