  • Patent number: 4453717
Abstract: An apparatus for practicing golf putting strokes including a putting surface member for receiving a golf ball to be putted and a swing path defining member which extends angularly from the putting surface part and lies in a plane which defines a normal and desired putter swing path. The swing path defining part is laterally offset from the intended swing path of the putter to provide a person using the apparatus with a visual indication of a normal swing path to serve as a guide while making unfettered practice swings with the putter. The swing path defining member includes an unobstructed planar member and a flange which is mounted on the putting surface member and supports the unobstructed planar member at an angle of substantially 72.degree. with respect to the putting surface member.

  • Patent number: 4449892
Abstract: A sonic pressure wave operated pump is provided with a rotary sonic pressure wave generator which impactingly generates sonic pressure waves of special character in a column of liquid contained in the pump with the generated sonic pressure waves being transmitted through a metallic production tube about the inner walls of the tube to a pumping unit which is in communication with a liquid to be pumped. The pumping unit reflects the generated sonic pressure waves back into the center of the production tube for movement countercurrent to the movement of the generated sonic pressure waves with the pumping unit reacting to the reflection of the sonic pressure waves by intaking the liquid that is to be pumped so that it is carried through the production tube with the reflected sonic pressure waves.

  • Patent number: 4426807
Abstract: A liquid herbicide applicator mechanism mountable on a farming vehicle for wipingly applying the herbicide on undesired vegetation growing in a cultivated field. The applicator mechanism includes a tool bar for carrying a plurality of herbicide dispenser assemblies so that they alternately align with the rows of crop plants and the spaces therebetween as the vehicle moves through the cultivated field. Each of the herbicide dispenser assemblies receives the herbicide from a reservoir tank under the influence of gravity and has a herbicide wiper head which absorbs the herbicide for wiping application on the undesired vegetation. Each of the herbicide wiper heads is substantially rigid but deformably configurable so that it may be shaped into substantial conformity with the contour of the crop plant rows and the spaces in the cultivated field and each wiper head is provided with special absorbent wiper elements.

  • Patent number: 4418663
Abstract: A radial internal combustion engine having a rotor of the radially movable vane type eccentrically housed within a rotor chamber casing both of which are journalled for rotation within an engine housing. Combustion induced rotation of the rotor is coupled by a gear train to the rotor chamber casing for driving the rotor chamber casing at the same speed as the rotor. Impeller blades provided on the periphery of the rotor chamber casing are employed to supercharge the fuel mixture prior to its being directed into the volumetrically expandable and contractable combustion chambers provided about the periphery of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4398870
Abstract: A variable volume single tube surface operated pump including a piston reciprocally mounted in a cylinder for alternately opening and closing a liquid delivery port formed in the sidewall of the cylinder and for generating a sonic pressure wave by impacting a column of liquid in a metallic tube extending from the cylinder to a remote pumping mechanism located in communication with the liquid to be pumped. The piston is especially configured with a central recess in the face thereof so that the sonic pressure waves generated thereby will pass through a sonic inductor and move downwardly toward the pumping mechanism in a spiral-like motion against the inner wall of the metallic tube and enter into a sonic intensifier chamber where they are reflected off the pumping mechanism into a central column which travels back toward the cylinder and causes the liquid to be pumped to move in that same direction.
