Abstract: A package or bag is provided with an easy open re-closable device for allowing ready access to the contents of the bag. The closure device is applied longitudinally in a vertical orientation in plastic bags but the closure device is spaced from the ends. In a layer paper bag, while the position of the closure device is preferably longitudinal, the closure device may have any orientation including a diagonal position. The closure device is incorporated in the fins of a fin bag and the closure devices extends longitudinally of the bag in a vertical direction. The process or making a multi layer paper material with a closure device incorporated therein is carried out in a continuous operation. The process of making zip-fin plastic bag or film containing the fins and closure are performed in a continuous operation.

Abstract: A tailgate and hinge assembly for a pickup truck includes a pair of L-shaped hinge brackets secured to opposite sides of the truck body of the pickup truck. Each hinge bracket has an inverted U-shaped cam track therein for receiving the hinge cam pins on the tailgate. This hinge assembly allows the tailgate to be readily moved between a vertical closed position, a horizontal position and a depending vertical position. The novel hinge assembly enables the tailgate to be maintained in the open horizontal position without the need of chains or linkages.

Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a mouse trap for insertion through the opening in the top of a pop can. The trap is formed of one piece stainless spring steel and includes a can-engaging element affixed to a can-engaging clip for engaging opposed surfaces of the pop can top. An intermediate element is affixed to the can-engaging element and to support element which, in turn, is affixed to a bait support element. The trap obstructs the can opening when the trap is in the release or sprung position.

Abstract: A handle assembly for converting a conventional yard cart for use in the manner of a wheelbarrow includes an L-shaped handle including a vertical portion and a horizontal portion. A socket member is connected to the yard cart tow bar which is normally coupled to a garden tractor. The handle member is connected to the socket member after the tow bar is uncoupled from the garden tractor thereby enabling the yard cart to be guided and moved by an operator in the manner of a wheelbarrow.

Abstract: A rear sight device for an SKS or similar type rifle includes a sight base assembly and a sight component assembly. The sight component assembly is adjustable mounted on the sight base assembly and includes sight elements of well-known construction. The sight base assembly includes a vertical plate having locating arms which engage the side walls of the rifle receiver. A pivot bolt extending through openings in the locating arms, rifle receiver and cover mounts the sight device on the rifle. Adjustment screws on the vertical plate or locating arms urge planar pads on the vertical plate against the rear wall of the receiver plate against the rear wall of the receiver to firmly mount the rear sight device on the receiver.

Abstract: A utility apparatus including lift apparatus and dump body apparatus is provided with quick attachment means to permit ready mounting of the utility apparatus on the support frame of a vehicle. The utility apparatus includes a mounting frame having shiftable support members for supporting the apparatus in a free standing position above a support surface. The support members are moved to a transport position when the utility apparatus is mounted on a vehicle frame. Cooperating hooks on the apparatus mounting frame engage and lock to pins on the vehicle support frame. Releasable latch members on the apparatus mounting frame and vehicle support frame latch the utility apparatus on the vehicle support frame.

Abstract: A broadcast type fertilizer spreader includes a hopper having ground engaging wheels mounted on the hopper frame and operating the broadcast rotor which broadcast the fertilizer. The spreader includes a handle for guiding and pushing the spreader and an actuator handle for opening and closing the dispensing openings in the hopper. A tow bar is readily connectable to the spreader and a tractor to convert the spreader to a towable mode.

Abstract: A trash can or receptacle is provided with a container which contains a supply of flexible bags used as a liner for the receptacle. In certain embodiments of the container, the container is permanently attached to the trash receptacle, and in other embodiments the container is detachably connected to the trash receptacle. In certain embodiments of the container, the container is configured to hold a roll of flexible bags which are dispensed through a dispensing slot. In other embodiments of the container, the container is configured to hold a supply of folded flexible bags.

Abstract: A muffler suspension kit for use in attaching a replacement or original catalytic converter, or exhaust pipe muffler to a vehicle includes a flexible clamping band formed of stainless or regular steel. The clamping band extends around a replacement muffler and clamps an angle-shaped suspension bracket against a muffler. The suspension bracket has a plurality of apertures therein for connection to one or more elongate, longitudinally, adjustable J-hooks. The J-hooks are connected to grommets on the vehicle for attaching the muffler to the vehicle. The selective position of attachment of the J-hooks to the suspension bracket and the longitudinal adjustability of the J-hooks provides a wide range of adjustment when attaching a muffler to a vehicle.

Abstract: A shuttle packaging machine includes a support structure having a servomotor driven shuttle device mounted thereon. A transfer arm having suction cups clamps, removes and holds a shipping blank on the shuttle device during all of the packaging functions. The major and minor flaps of the shipping container are held open during the loading of the container. Tucking or folding plows and pneumatic cylinders fold and hold the major and minor flaps. The “shuttle action” of the shuttle device during loading and flap folding allows for a compact arrangement as well as minimizing the number of parts required.

Abstract: An apparatus for generating electromagnetic pulses includes circuitry comprising an induction coil having a silver anode projecting into the coil. Moveable silver mass elements are adjustably mounted on the anode. The circuitry is immersed in liquid hydrogen and when energized produces electromagnetic pulses. If is believed that some of the anode material is consumed during the production of EMP converting the anode material into electromagnetic radiation energy. As the consumption continues the elongate anode assembly produces a composite wave form that equates to the size, shape and arrangement of the mass elements.

Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning castings includes a cleaning cabinet having a rotary clamping device which clamps a casting to be cleaned upon a freely rotatable plate in the cabinet. An elongate lance having a high pressure nozzle at its inner end projects into the cabinet and delivers a high pressure water jet against the casting at a pressure of 1,000 psi to 40,000 psi. A spherical bearing pivotally and rotatably mounts the lance on a vertically reciprocal carriage. A pair of pneumatic cylinder and piston units are connected to lance and are differentially operated with respect to actuation times and length of piston stroke to thereby produce random movement of the lance during the cleaning operation.

Abstract: A display mat includes a display panel and a backing panel having a photographic print and a verse panel positioned therebetween. The display panel has a plurality of symmetrical display openings therein through which the photographic print and verse panel are displayed. The symmetrical display openings may be of different sizes and shapes and the number of display openings may vary. A verse panel is provided and has the verse applied to one surface thereof in two locations arranged ninety degrees with respect to each other for selection of a verse to fit and match a symmetrical display opening in the display panel.
