Abstract: A single-piece coaster and handle device molded from plastic material for ready attachment to and removal from a conventional beverage can includes a generally circular coaster structure and a generally C-shaped handle. The C-shaped handle includes a slotted upper handle element having a plurality of gripping projections for engaging the upper bead of a beverage can. A rectangular support element is integral with the lower handle element of the C-shaped handle.

Abstract: An odor removing device for toilets includes an L-shaped member which is attached to the lower surface of a toilet seat and which defines a collection chamber having a plurality of openings therein. An elongate flexible hose has one end thereof connected to the L-shaped member and has the other end thereof connected to the connector element of a housing. The housing is secured to the ceiling in overlying relation to a conventional ceiling fan and closes the inlet of the ceiling fan. When the ceiling fan is energized, gases and air will be removed by the odor removing device through the L-shaped member into the flexible hose and thereafter into the housing.

Abstract: An electrostatic linear accelerator includes an electrode stack comprised of primary electrodes formed or Kovar and supported by annular glass insulators having the same thermal expansion rate as the electrodes. Each glass insulator is provided with a pair of fused-in Kovar ring inserts which are bonded to the electrodes. Each electrode is designed to define a concavo-convex particle trap so that secondary charged particles generated within the accelerated beam area cannot reach the inner surface of an insulator. Each insulator has a generated inner surface profile which is so configured that the electrical field at this surface contains no significant tangential component. A spark gap trigger assembly is provided, which energizes spark gaps protecting the electrodes affected by over voltage to prevent excessive energy dissipation in the electrode stack.

Abstract: A corner lamp is attached to the corner of a room defined by the orthogonal relation of two adjoining walls and the ceiling of a room. The lamp is of tetrahedral configuration and includes a frame comprised of a rectangular central panel and a pair of triangular side panels. The central panel has a light bulb assembly mounted thereon and a triangular lens is mounted on the frame between the triangular side panels.

Abstract: A resistor device for use with electrostatic particle accelerators includes a resistor element positioned within a tubular housing having a fixed end cap at one end thereof and a movable end cap at the other end thereof. The tubular housing, fixed end cap, and movable end cap serve as an electromagnetic field for the resistor element. Conductive disks engage opposite ends of the resistor element and concentrically position the resistor element within the tubular housing. Helical springs engage the conductive disks and the end caps to yieldably support the movable end caps and resistor element for yieldable axial movement relative to the tubular housing. An annular conducting ring is secured to the tubular housing and is spaced radially from the movable end cap and cooperates with the latter to define an annular spark gap.

Abstract: A plurality of concealed attachment clips are used for securing a grill to a window or door frame. The attachment clips are generally of L-shaped configuration, including a flat body portion having a pointed end, which is forcibly urged between the window or door frame and inner surface of the window or door pane. A coupling portion extends at substantially right angular relation from the body portion and includes a dome-shaped detente. The grill is comprised of grill bars, and each grill bar has a semi-spherical recess therein. The ends of the grill bars are forced over the detentes of the clips to releasably secure the grill to the window or door frame.

Abstract: A non-invasive apparatus for continuously measuring the cardiac output and cardio-respiratory function includes a gas sampling device which is inserted into the mouth of a human subject. The gas sampling device may be a disposable endotracheal tube or a smaller disposable mouthpiece. Each of these gas sampling devices is provided with a plurality of passages for sampling the lung gases and for continuously sampling the gas pressure on opposite sides of a capillary restriction member. A miniature motor pump mass spectrometer module is mounted on the upper end of the endotracheal tube or mouthpiece. Electronic circuitry connected to the mass spectrometer permits constant visual monitoring of the cardiac output and cardio-respiratory function.

Abstract: A portable, foldable swimming pool step device includes a pair of sectional stiles interconnected by transverse steps and provided with sectional handrail structures. The stiles, steps, and handrail structures are formed of a thermoplastic material. Each stile includes a pair of sections hingedly connected together and foldable between an extended operative position and a folded position. The steps are adjustable to permit the swimming pool step device to function as an inclined ramp. Suitable rollers are mounted on the stiles to permit easy movement of the swimming pool step device when the ladder is in the folded position.

Abstract: A towable support frame for supporting a pair of 12-row implements in side-by-side relation includes front and rear frame structures interconnected by longitudinal frame members. Front transport and rear wheel assemblies support the frame and implements for transport. Field wheel assemblies cooperate with the rear wheel assemblies for supporting the frame for travel during the field operation. The hitch mechanisms for the 12-row implements are mounted on the support frame at locations with respect to the transport and field wheel assemblies to provide optimum weight distribution.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for conditioning and preserving living seeds in a bin of the type having means for forcing air into a plenum chamber in the lower part of the bin, a floor pervious to gas flow forming the top of the chamber, and heating means. Electrical heating means such as heat lamps are utilized to introduce energy into the plenum air. A variation is disclosed wherein the heating means and plenum chamber are located in the upper part of the bin, and the air flow is from top to bottom.The process involves measuring the temperature of drying air in the plenum chamber, measuring the temperature of exhaust air leaving the bin, and inactivating the heating means when the difference between the two temperatures exceeds a predetermined level.

Abstract: An improved casement window sash unit includes a pair of track and hinge assemblies, each being secured to one of the upper and lower horizontal window frame members of a window opening in a building. Each track and hinge assembly includes a track having a toggle hinge pivotally and slidably secured thereto and to the sash. The track for each assembly has a pair of elongate longitudinally extending openings therein, each accommodating an attachment screw therethrough, each opening being of a size to permit slight longitudinal shifting of the track relative to the window frame. Each track and hinge assembly includes a cam positioned within a cam opening in the track and secured to the track and window frame by an attachment screw. Each cam is selectively shiftable in either direction from a centered position to slightly shift the track longitudinally of the window frame before the attachment screws are tightened to adjust the position of the hinge relative to the window frame and thereby overcome sash sag.

Abstract: A crane apparatus is provided with a lock mechanism which releasably locks the pivot axle of the personnel bucket against pivotal movement relative to the upper boom arm. The pivot axle is affixed to the bucket and projects through and is journaled on the upper boom arm. Locking elements are affixed to the pivot axle and clamping elements are affixed to and mounted within the upper boom arm. A locking bolt is operable to cause the clamping elements to be clamped against the locking elements and to lock the pivot axle against pivotal movement relative to the upper boom arm.

Abstract: An ice fishing device for jigging a fishing line includes a support having a housing attached to its upper end. An electric motor having an output shaft is positioned within the housing and a cam disc is secured to the output shaft of the electric motor. A cam element for the cam disc engages a socket member pivotally mounted on the housing. A reel having a fishing line wound thereon is mounted on the support, and the fishing line is supported by a rod which projects into the socket member. A switch assembly is actuated by the reel and energizes a signal light when the reel is unwound by a pulling force. The cam element on the cam disc imparts a vertical jigging movement to the socket member and rod when the electric motor is energized.

Abstract: A multi-compartmented toilet paper holder includes a mounting plate, which is attachable to a vertical wall. A housing pivotally engages the mounting plate to permit pivoting of the housing between open and closed positions. In one embodiment of the invention, an intermediate wall divides the interior of the housing into upper and lower compartments. In another embodiment of the invention, an intermediate wall divide the housing into side-by-side lateral compartments. Each compartment is of a size to accommodate a roll of toilet paper and each compartment has an access opening through which the paper is dispensed at the lower portion thereof.

Abstract: A portable hand wash unit is comprised of a tank having a dispenser housing hinged to the upper portion of the tank. The dispenser housing is shaped to define a pair of wash basins, each having a water outlet connected in continuous communication with a metering receptacle and each basin having a soap dispenser pump connected in communicating relation with a soap reservoir. Each wash basin is provided with a manual water pump which pumps clear water from a bag of water within the tank through the inlet of each metering receptacle. The inlet for each metering receptacle has a cross-sectional size approximately twice the cross-sectional size of the water outlet, thereby allowing a user the time needed to wash his hands after the user has finished operation of the water pump.

Abstract: A portable, collapsible grain cleaner and spreader apparatus is used to evenly spread and clean grain or similar crops as the grain is introduced into a storage structure. The grain cleaner and spreader apparatus comprises a vertically disposed grain receiver which distributes grain to be dried over a frusto-conically shaped perforated screen device. A funnel-shaped body engages the perforated screen device and has a fan assembly connected thereto. Grain is evenly distributed over the screen device into the storage structure. Debris, chaff, bees wings, dirt, and weevils pass through the screen device, funnel-shaped member, and fan assembly and are discharged exteriorly of the storage structure through a conduit.

Abstract: A golf scorecard holder is formed of rigid transparent plastic and is of generally rectangular-shaped configuration. One longitudinal edge portion of the golf scorecard holder is shaped to define a curved clamping element and a recess which is shaped in dimension to frictionally engage a pencil for use by a golfer. The other longitudinal edge portion of the holder is shaped to define a retaining lip. A clamping ring may be attached to either end of a holder and is attachable to a golf bag. A transparent envelope is clamped against the clamping surface of the holder by the clamping element to retain the transparent envelope against the clamping surface. The scorecard is positioned between the panels of the envelope for ready examination by a user. The envelope and scorecard may be readily removed from the holder by a user for entry of the golfer's score.

Abstract: A towed type crop sprayer for spraying a liquid agricultural chemical upon a standing crop includes a frame having a tank mounted thereon and having a horizontal transversely extending boom assembly thereon for supporting a spray device. A centrally located cylinder and piston unit and cable tensioning mechanism are operable to produce ready vertical adjustment of the boom assembly and spray device carried thereby. The tractor which tows the crop sprayer, and the crop sprayer, are provided with belly pans to smoothly engage the standing crop to minimize damage thereto. The ground engaging wheels of the tractor and the crop sprayer are provided with grain dividers which progressively part the standing crops during movement of the tractor and crop sprayer and thereby minimize damage to the standing crop during the spraying operation.

Abstract: A portable knock-down toilet structure includes a base, vertical side, front and rear walls, and a top wall. The vertical walls each have slots in the lower edge portion thereof which engage clips on the base to detachably secure the vertical walls to the base. Elongate U-shaped corner members each have a plurality of pins which engage in slots in adjacent vertical edges of a pair of adjacent vertical walls to releasably secure the walls together. Each vertical wall has a plurality of cam locks pivoted along the upper edge portion thereof which engage in slots in the top wall to releasably secure the latter to the vertical walls.
