  • Patent number: 4738294
Abstract: A device for mounting and demounting tubeless tires with respect to wheel assemblies includes a wheel support structure upon which a tubeless tire and wheel assembly is positioned. An elongate vertically disposed mounting member is releasably locked to the wheel support structure and projects vertically upwardly therefrom through the tire and wheel assembly. A wheel clamping member projects through openings in the mounting member and is urged into clamping relation with the wheel by an adjustable threaded clamping bolt. An elongate lever has a tire removing member at one end thereof, which is insertable between the tire bead and the wheel rim so that, when the lever is maintained in engaging relation with the mounting member and is moved through an arc of 360 degrees, each tire bead will be successively removed from the wheel.

  • Patent number: 4682387
Abstract: An apparatus and method for stripping the casing from casing enclosed sausage sticks includes an indexing device which moves sausages in an arcuate path during which the front end of the sausage stick is severed. The sausage sticks are then moved horizontally, front end first, by a positioning conveyor, and the front edges of the casing are engaged by a casing stripper device. The casing is pulled from the sausage stick as the latter is moved by a positioning conveyor. The decased front end of the sausage stick is gripped by a movable gripper device which pulls the sausage from the casing. An ejector mechanism ejects the sausage from the gripper device.

  • Patent number: 4680885
Abstract: A jigging machine for use in jigging a fishing line includes a unipolar stepper motor having an output shaft revolvable through a step angle of approximately 7.5 degrees per step. A reel having a fishing line wound thereon is secured to the shaft of a stepper motor and is provided with a bait or lure at the free end thereof. The stepper motor is operated by electrical circuitry through a predetermined number of rapid steps in one direction, and the stepper motor is then automatically reversed to revolve the output shaft thereof in the opposite direction. This mode of operation produces a rapid jigging action to the fishing line and to the bait or lure secured thereto.

  • Patent number: 4675194
Abstract: A continuous steady state flow process for converting proteinaceous materials by reacting the proteinaceous materials with coagulants or other precipitants in situ. Streams of proteinaceous materials and coagulants are fed into an introduction chamber under a predetermined pressure and are directed through an orifice as a high velocity jet stream into a resonance chamber to impinge against a vibratile element. The energy from the jet stream is transferred to the vibratile element to cause it to vibrate at high sonic or ultrasonic frequencies. The high sonic or ultrasonic energies are transferred to the mixture of proteinaceous materials and coagulants to produce a cavitational effect and cause instantaneous reaction and homogenization of the proteinaceous materials and coagulants to thereby form a protein matrix.

  • Patent number: 4662029
Abstract: A process and apparatus for automatically and continuously cutting hog carcasses into primal cuts includes means for moving the hog carcasses in a predetermined path of travel. The carcasses are first separated into carcass sides and are conveyed on adjustable support mechanisms. Optical scanning devices view each primal cut portion of each carcass to locate a reference structure on the primal cut portion. The scanned reference structure is compared to a programmed cut pattern by a computer which controls operation of a plurality of cutting devices. The cutting devices are adjusted in response to the comparison of the scanned reference structure of the primal cut with the pre-programmed cut pattern. The computer program will include many cut patterns for each primal cut. The computer may be programmed daily, or in more frequent intervals, to select a particular cut pattern for each primal cut. The computer selects the desired cut pattern which has been predetermined for that particular time.

  • Patent number: 4655005
Abstract: A process and apparatus for dry lens generation of a plastic optical lens includes a chamber structure in which the lens grinding tool and the lens blank holder are positioned. The chamber is provided with a large unobstructed inlet and an outlet connected in communicating relation to a vacuum system so that the high volume, high velocity stream of ambient air is directed across the interface between the grinding tool and the lens blank to thereby entrain the cut plastic material in the stream for evacuation through the outlet. The grinding tool is diamond plated and the spacing between the diamond elements is of a sufficient magnitude to permit single point cutting of the material to thereby eliminate any tendency of the material to adhere to the grinding tool. A misting nozzle discharges a fine lubricating mist across the lens blank grinding tool interface when a lens is being formed from polycarbonate.

A positioning plate assembly is mounted on the tracking carriage. A carcass engaging assembly is mounted on the lateral feed carriage and clamps the carcass to be split against the positioning plate assembly. A saw carrier is vertically mounted on the lateral feed carriage and is vertically shiftable relative thereto. The saw carriage is operable, when shifted vertically downwardly, to cut longitudinally through the length of the backbone of the carcass.

  • Patent number: 4646755
Abstract: An introducer tool for a screw-in endocardial lead includes a plunger housing which is connected to the connector of the endocardial lead. The plunger housing is shiftable in a locking tube between retracted and advanced positions. A stylet is insertable through the plunger housing and through the lumen of the lead for shifting the helix assembly of the lead from a retracted to an advanced position. Clamping elements on the plunger housing engage the stylet to clamp the latter against movement when the plunger housing is in the advanced position. The lead may then be rotated relative to the introducer tool about the stylet to fix the helix assembly into the endocardium.
