Abstract: A method for the preparation of a beverage by mixing water and at least one powdered product in a mixing chamber and dispensing the mixture to a final container. The method includes preparation and delivery of at least a first portion of beverage by mixing a first soluble product with water, either in the absence of mechanical stirring or with rotating a rotor at a rotor rotation speed of less than 500 rpm. The method also includes the preparation and delivery of at least a second portion of beverage by mixing a second soluble product with water in the presence of mechanical stirring and for the delivery of further portions of beverage to the final container.

Abstract: The present invention describes a method and system for protecting the integrity and authorship of a piece of registration information of the user, applicable in voter information registration, by means of biometric techniques. To that end, after a first stage of entering a piece of registration information, a second stage of protecting the integrity of the registration information is implemented. In this second stage, an item of integrity proof of said information is generated and said item of integrity proof is displayed to the user who wishes to protect it. In a third stage of generating an item of non-repudiation proof of the registration information, an item of biometric proof of the user which contains the item of integrity proof displayed is obtained, an item of non-repudiation proof is constructed from said item of biometric proof, and finally the item of non-repudiation proof is stored.

Abstract: Process and system for calculating distances between wireless nodes. The process includes, in order to determine the RTT between a node to be positioned and a reference node: providing a time-stamping software layer above the physical layer, and using it to assign and register timestamps to the inputs and outputs of data frames received and to be sent by the node to be positioned; processing, by means of a link software layer, the data frames received and to be sent by the latter; and providing a binding software layer, above said link software layer, and using it to access the timestamps registered and the data frames received and to be sent, and binding them to one another. The system includes a wireless node to be positioned configured to implement the process proposed by the process.

Abstract: A self-expanding foldable structure for a display has a structure that includes a pair of side walls (2) hinged at respective connection edges (2a) to opposing edges of a back wall (1) and a shelf (3) linked to the back and side walls (1, 2) such that they can adopt a flat position in which the back wall, side walls and shelf (1, 2, 3) are substantially coplanar and an expanded position in which the back wall, side walls and shelf (1, 2, 3) form respective dihedrons. An elastic element is arranged to push the structure to the expanded position. The side walls (2) comprise a transverse fold line (14) having one or more scored sections (14a) wherein an inner structure of the wall material is crushed, in combination with one or more cut sections (14b) wherein said inner structure of the wall material has flat edges that can mutually face and support one another in the expanded position.

Abstract: A power unit for air conditioning systems installed on boats, including at least one compressor, of the mass produced type used in the automobile industry, connected to the circuit of the refrigeration device, at least one mechanical pump for circulation of a heat exchange fluid along a circuit and one or more rotating electrical machines. Operation of the power unit is ensured during navigation by an internal combustion engine for marine propulsion, in particular a four stroke gasoline engine, with vertical motor axis, normally used for outboard marine propulsion, mass produced at low costs, while when the boat is in port it is ensured by an electric motor. The fan coils are also of the mass produced type used in the automobile industry.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a brewing unit for a coffee machine. The brewing unit comprises a brewing chamber in which a dose of coffee powder can be lodged, an inlet for supplying water to the chamber for preparing a coffee beverage, a first piston providing a moveable wall for adjusting the chamber internal volume, which wall has an outlet for delivering the coffee beverage out from the chamber, and a valve assembly for opening/closing said delivery outlet. Advantageously a second piston is provided which moves the first piston and supports the valve assembly. The second piston is also moveable with respect to the first piston, for actuating the valve assembly.

Abstract: A method and a module are described for storing and dispensing flat items such as banknotes or wads of banknotes, wherein the items are retained between ribbon means and deposited on a rotating support element having at least two faces comprising one or more flat or convex portions, after crossing a pair of feed-in/dispensing main rollers. Means are provided for adjusting the length of the ribbon means along the portion that extends between the points of contact with the main rollers and the points of contact with the supporting element and/or with the items stored on the same.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for controlling a beverage dispensing machine. The apparatus performs the method and the method includes steps of monitoring, through a sensing device, the ingredient amount/level and/or the shape of the surface of the ingredient within the container, comparing the monitored value with a reference value stored in a machine control unit, and changing one or more operative parameters of the beverage dispensing machine, when necessary on the basis of the comparison. The monitoring may include detecting a distance between the sensing device, which is positioned above the ingredient, and at least one point of an upper surface of the ingredient. The operative parameters may be operating time of the machine to draw the ingredient from the container, an amount of ingredient drawn from the container, and an operating time or condition of other machine units.

A fastener, such as one having engaging hooks and loops, is at the larger of the two elastic bands. Abstract: A mold houses a least one cutting die that defines a die axis. The mold has at least one punch aligned with the die axis and movable in a reciprocating manner that cooperates with the at least one cutting die to cut the laminate into the laminations by carrying out cutting steps. The mold has a centering device within the mold that locks the at least one cutting die into a desired position prior to each of the cutting steps. A punching movement of the at least one punch is coordinated with a feeding movement of the laminate to a location within the mold that is interposed between the at least one punch and the cutting die.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a lamination for electro motor rotors that have skew or helical slots by forming at least one boss on a face of the lamination and reducing a thickness of a first portion of the boss. The reduction in thickness may be by carrying out a localized narrowing of the thickness of the first portion and the boss may be manufactured by pressing the lamination. The localized narrowing may be carried out by misalignment of a die relative to a punch within a mould.

Abstract: A hybrid heating apparatus heats potable water with waste heat from heat recovery units and insolation from solar collectors. A single circulation pump circulates fluid between at least one heat exchanger and each of the heat recovery units and preferably the solar collector. A single controller receives sensor readings from the heat recovery units and the solar collector units and receives a demand to heat the potable water. To satisfy the demand, the controller determines the extent to which the demand may be satisfied from heat available from the heat recovery units and the solar collector units and sends command signals both to the circulating pump to circulate the fluid and to appropriate ones of valves at connections to those heat recovery units and solar collector units to allow fluid to circulate to be heated to flow to the heat exchanger for effecting heat exchange to heat the potable water.
