  • Patent number: 6896255
Abstract: The invention relates to a cassette for receiving a stack of sheets, with a pressing element which bears against a first end face of the stack of sheets and is movable in the pressing direction, with a drive motor for displacing the pressing element so that a second end face the stack of sheets facing away from the pressing element can be brought to bear against extracting elements of a sheet extracting device, and with a measuring device for determining the pressing force of the stack of sheets against the extracting elements an output signal of the measuring device serving for controlling the drive motor in order to generate a predetermined pressing force. The stack of sheets and the pressing element are arranged in a slide which is accommodated in the cassette movably in the direction of displacement of the pressing element, the pressing element being displaceable with respect to the slide by the drive motor.

  • Patent number: 6072208
Abstract: In a dynamic random access memory (DRAM), a step produced by forming a stacked capacitor can be prevented from being produced and increased, thereby facilitating the patterning of an upper layer (wiring, etc.). Further, the pattern layout can be made with freedom and the DRAM itself can be highly integrated. This dynamic random access memory is constructed such that stacked capacitors (C.sub.1), (C.sub.2) composed of accumulation node electrodes (7a), (7b), a dielectric layer (8) and a sub-plate electrode (9) are formed on the under layers of a switching element (Tr1) composed of a word line (4a) and two source-drain regions (5a), (5b) and a switching element (Tr2) composed of a word line (4b) and two source-drain regions (5a), (5c).

  • Patent number: 5907311
Abstract: A liquid crystal cell and a plasma cell are layered together with a dielectric sheet in between. Data electrodes (column electrodes) are constructed to form parallel columns on the underside of an upper substrate in a display cell. Discharge channels filled with ionizable gas are constructed in parallel rows in a plasma cell. Row electrodes are constructed on the upperside of a lower substrate corresponding to each of the discharge channels, and reference electrodes to which reference voltages are applied, are constructed inside each of the discharge channels. Data voltages are applied to the data electrodes and drive pulses are applied to the row electrodes. The polarities of the data voltages are changed so as to be opposite to the polarities of the drive pulses with respect to the reference voltages. Each time the polarities of the drive pulses are inverted, plasma discharges are generated in the discharge channel corresponding to the row electrodes to which the drive pulses are applied.

  • Patent number: 5824885
Abstract: In order to keep a patient from being administered an incorrect anaesthetic, an erroneous concentration of an anaesthetic or a mixture of anaesthetics, an anaesthetic system can be equipped with a device for identifying anaesthetics in anaesthetic system. The device identifies anaesthetics by determining a parameter related to a physical property, such as density, of liquid anaesthetics. A floating body can be immersed in the anaesthetic fluid. The floating body then sinks to a depth which depends on the fluid's density. The identity of the anaesthetic can then be read off a measurement stick arranged on the floating body.
