  • Patent number: 5736270
Abstract: A battery device having a high discharge current value and a high current collecting efficiency at electrodes. A first active material is applied on a first current collecting unit avoiding one end and/or the other end of the width direction to form an anode, and a second active material is applied on a second current collecting unit avoiding one end and/or the other end of the width direction to form a cathode. The current generated at the electrodes formed by winding the anode and cathode via separators is output through the parts uncoated with the first active material of anode and the parts uncoated with the second active material of cathode, so as to realize the battery device having a high discharge current value and a high current collecting efficiency at the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5732966
Abstract: A bracket is provided for mounting an automobile portion of a mateable connector of the type for connecting an automobile's electrical system to operate a trailer's lights, turn signals or brakes. The bracket is configured for installation to a conventional rear license plate assembly for convenient hook-up adjacent a trailer hitch and consists of a base portion and a cantilevered arm portion. The base portion cooperatively mounts with screw holes alignable with standard holes of the rear license plate. The arm portion may extend from the base portion at desired angled orientation with respect to the base portion. An electrical connector portion is securably mounted to the free end of the arm portion, positioning the connector portion for convenient plugging-on of a mated connector portion associated with the trailer's wiring.

  • Patent number: 5732700
Abstract: A reusable electrode holder and associated disposable electrode unit are provided. The holder retains the electrode therein and is connectable to a vacuum source for holding the electrode against a patient's skin with vacuum suction. The holder is also connectable to an electrical lead for connection to the electrode unit. The holder has a resilient cap which is moveable to actuate a valve to open communication through the holder from the vacuum source to a chamber adjacent the skin. To prevent the transfer of contaminants from the skin to reusable parts of the holder, a first contaminant absorber is provided within a housing of the holder and a second contaminant absorber is provided as part of the electrode unit. A second valve can be provided which is actuatable to close vacuum communication when second absorber expands to a threshold contamination condition.

  • Patent number: 5734832
Abstract: In the method, the evaluation of messages for performance feature control is independent of the position, plurality and sequences of performance feature control elements. This is enabled in that the performance feature control elements are embedded in sequences in a message, and the performance feature control is implemented using a processing sequence that has flexibly allocatable processing routines and that takes the type of performance feature control element into consideration.

  • Patent number: 5732702
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for functional imaging an impulse sequence is used in which an examination subject is charged with a readout gradient with sub-pulses of alternating polarity. By means of at least two-dimensional Fourier transformation, an image data matrix having N rows is generated from the raw data thereby acquired. After a stimulation of the subject, a second image data matrix is acquired. The coincidence of opposed signal changes that occur at two pixels disposed from each other by a distance of N/2 rows in the image matrix is checked. Found coincidences are evaluated as functional activity.

  • Patent number: 5734308
Abstract: Electromagnetic, monostable, small relay has a rocker armature arranged between a base plate and a coil, the armature being mounted with its middle segment at the end of an L-shaped yoke, and forming a working air gap with a second yoke. Contact springs are connected with the armature, which work together with fixed contacts anchored in the base. A resetting spring is connected with the armature and prestresses the armature into a rest position on the first yoke. For stabilization of the construction, and for separation between a contact chamber and a coil chamber, a base body is provided with an H-shaped cross-section, which overlaps the base plate in an interleaving manner, and which forms supports for the terminal pins of the base plate on both sides of the armature. In this way, a monostable relay is created, which can have any of conventional soldering pin terminals, SMT terminals, or press-fit terminals.

  • Patent number: 5734534
Abstract: A magnetic head is made by fixing together two head halves 9 and 39. Recesses 10 and 40 are formed in glass layers 4 and 34 on the substrates 1 and 31 respectively of the head halves, and spiral coil patterns 11 and 41 are formed in the recesses. Apart from their inner end portions 11a and 41a the coil patterns are covered by insulating protective films 23 and 53. A plurality of sloping surfaces 4b, 34b are formed on the glass layers 4 and 34 at the locations of the inner end portions of the coil patterns, whereby a plurality of projections 4a, 34a are formed. The angle of slope .theta. of the sloping surfaces is above 30.degree. and below 90.degree.. The coil patterns 11 and 41 comprise copper plating layers 19 and 39; because the coil pattern inner end portions lie on the projections 4a, 34a their surfaces are high and exposed at the surfaces of the insulating protective films 23, 53, and gold films 16 and 46 are formed thereon.

  • Patent number: 5734650
Abstract: An apparatus for queuing and scheduling ATM cells across an ATM switch comprises sustainable cell rate calendar connected in series with a peak cell rate calendar wherein cells are scheduled independently in each. The sustainable cell rate calendar guarantees the maximum ATM cell delay is not exceeded. The ATM cells are not placed on the peak cell rate calendar unless the peak cell rate threshold might be exceeded. In this case the cell is scheduled on the peak cell rate calendar and it is this that determines when the cell is sent. In this way, it is possible to guarantee absolute minimum and maximum cell rates of a connection.

  • Patent number: 5731963
Abstract: A housing is provided for a radio device, such as a portable cellular telephone, in a housing arrangement which includes an integral electromagnetic shield. A thin conductive film is applied to an interior or exterior surface of one or more shell-type housing parts. This thin film may be applied during an injection molding process to form the shell-type parts. The shell-type parts are shaped to define a cavity for encasing electronic components of the radio device, and for securably receiving an associated circuit board. The thin film is disposed to extend over a supporting edge of the corresponding housing part so that circuit board grounding surfaces are in low-resistance contact with the shielding film. The film thereby provides the housing with an integrated shielding function against electromagnetic radiation.
