  • Patent number: 7531574
Abstract: This invention provides methods for improving reproductive performance of lactating dairy cows and other mammals. The method in the case of cows comprises feeding to the cows, a composition comprising conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs), cis-9, trans-11 and trans-10, cis-12. When these CLAs are fed daily to dairy cows starting at or prior to calving, and continued after parturition, an improvement in reproductive performance is observed.

  • Patent number: 7528117
Abstract: The present invention discloses antisense poly-2?-O-(2,4-dinitrophenyl) oligoribonucleotides which are capable of down regulating the expression of the RI? subunit of protein kinase A. An example is 5?-GGCUGCGUGCCUCCUCACUGG (named antisense poly-DNP RNA-21) or a sequence which has a one-base mismatch therewith. The antisense oligoribonucleotide can be synthesized by in vitro transcription followed by chemical derivatization. The base sequence of the oligoribonucleotides is complementary to that of nt 110 to 130 in RI?/PKA mRNA. The antisense poly-DNP RNA-21 was found to inhibit cell growth with IC50 values in the nanomolar range. These oligonucleotides can be used as effective anti-cancer agents.

  • Patent number: 7527143
Abstract: The invention may include a series of rows of belt modules. A first one of the rows may have a plurality of hinge elements along an end of the first row. A second one of the rows may have a plurality of hinge elements along an end of the second row. The plurality of hinge elements of the first row may be interleaved with the plurality of hinge elements of the second row. A hinge pin may extend through the plurality of hinge elements of both the first row and the second row so as to pivotally join the first row to the second row. A roller may be supported from a first module of the first row and supported from a second module of the first row, so that the roller resides between the first module and the second module and so that the roller extends above the modules in order to allow an object, which is to be conveyed by the conveyor belt, to be supported on the roller. The modules may be moved in a belt travel direction in order to convey the object from a first location to a second location.
