Abstract: A backlight driving apparatus for a liquid crystal display device includes a light source, an AC driver for supplying a high voltage AC power to turn on the light source, and a protection circuit electrically connected to the AC driver responsive to an input voltage lower than a reference voltage for stopping the driving of the AC driver.
Abstract: An organic electro-luminescent display and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The organic electro-luminescent display includes a first transparent substrate and a second transparent substrate which are arranged to face each other while being spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance, a transistor formed on the first transparent substrate, a spacer formed on the second transparent substrate, a first electrode formed on surfaces of the second transparent substrate and the spacer, and electrically connected to the transistor, an organic electro-luminescent layer formed on the first electrode, and a second electrode formed on the organic electro-luminescent layer, wherein the first electrode has a projecting part projected with the spacer toward the first substrate, exposed between neighboring organic electro-luminescent layers and between neighboring second electrodes so as to connect to the transistor.
Abstract: An organic electroluminescent device, adapted to enhance device reliability while allowing simplification of a manufacturing process, and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The organic electroluminescent (EL) device, comprising a substrate, TFTs located in respective unit pixel regions on the substrate, a first insulation layer to insulate the TFTs, first electrodes formed on the first insulation layer while contacting the TFTs, respectively, a partition wall positioned between the unit pixel regions on the first insulation layer, a subsidiary electrode formed on the partition wall, an organic light emitting layer positioned on the first electrodes, an insulation part to insulate each first electrode from an associated subsidiary electrode, and a second electrode positioned on the organic light emitting layer and connected with the subsidiary electrode.

Abstract: A trimmer head for use in a flexible line rotary trimmer including a housing adapted to be operatively connected to the trimmer to effect rotation of the head and a spool operatively connected to the housing for rotation therewith. The spool defines at least one inwardly extending line receptor channel defining surface irregularities therein for securely gripping the cutting line upon an end portion of the line being inserted in the channel and the spool rotated with respect to the housing. The channel is preferably tapered inwardly to hold different line sizes. To provide uniform winding of the line about the spool, the operative connection between the spool and the housing effects relative reciprocal motion therebetween when the spool is manually rotated relative to the housing.
Abstract: Provided is a method for fabricating an organic EL device that can prevent delamination of an electrode. The method includes: forming electrode separators on a substrate, the electrode separators being spaced apart by a constant distance from one another; and depositing an electrode material on an entire surface of the substrate including the electrode separators to form an electrode separated by the electrode separators. According to the present invention, since the anode is automatically separated in the unit of pixels due to the existence of the electrode separator, delamination of the anode can be prevented, and further product reliability can be enhanced. Also, since a complicated photolithography process is not needed, process efficiency can be enhanced.

Abstract: The system (10) and the method are used for forecasting the electrical conductivity of an anode (12) for aluminum production before the anode (12) is baked. In the system (10), at least one receiving coil (20,22) is coupled to an electromagnetic field emitting unit (14,18). A sensing device (30) is connected to the receiving coil (20,22), the sensing device (30) outputting a signal indicative of a variation of the electromagnetic field received by the receiving coil (20,22) as the crude anode (12), or a portion thereof, passes inside the receiving coil (20,22). A value indicative of the electrical conductivity of the anode (12) is then calculated using the signal from the sensing device (30) and signals previously obtained using reference anodes (12). This way, the electrical conductivity of the anodes (12) can be forecasted before the crude anodes (12) are baked.

Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the invention described herein includes a method and apparatus for providing a seal between at least the outer sidebar and pin bushing of a chain link assembly. The apparatus includes a seal having an outer collar and an inner resilient ring, the outer collar preferably having a mating ridge and the resilient ring being molded onto the collar. This seal also includes outer ribs for providing a sealed contact against the outer sidebar, and may include inner ribs. The seal is part of a chain link assembly positioned between the outer and inner sidebars and surrounding a pin bushing end. A fluid (e.g., grease) may be advantageously placed between the ribs, lubricating the rib—sidebar interface and thereby reducing wear of the ribs.
