Abstract: A synchronous memory device includes: a plurality of pipelatch circuits storing data as pull-up and pull-down signals, transferring the stored data to pull-up and pull-down lines and producing initialization signals to initialize the pull-up and pull-down lines in response to a pipe count signal; common pull-up and pull-down lines coupled to the pull-up and pull-down lines in response to the pipe count signal and the initialization signals; initialization unit for supplying a power supply to the pull-up and pull-down lines in response to a reset signal, the pipe count signal and the initialization signals; an output buffer outputting the data transferred by the common pull-up and pull-down lines; and a precharging unit for precharging the pull-up and pull-down lines and the common pull-up and pull-down lines in response to an output signal from the output buffer, wherein the common pull-up and pull-down lines is precharged to a ground voltage level.
Abstract: An apparatus for sensing a current direction of an input signal and amplifying the sensed input signal to a logic level in use for semiconductor memory devices includes a current-direction sensing ad amplifying means for sensing a current direction of the input signal and amplifying the input signal in response to a sensing control signal to output a sensed and amplified signal, and a voltage level shift means for receiving a reference voltage from an external circuit and shifting a voltage level of the sensed and amplified signal to output a level shifted signal, thereby preventing an erroneous operation therein and improving a data access time.
Abstract: A coupling device for metal pipes includes a cup-joint, a packing bushing, a padding bushing and a bridging connector. The cup-joint holds and confines in its confining face the packing bushing and the padding bushing to yield a central holding hole for accommodating metal pipe. When the set of cup-joint, packing bushing and padding bushing is screwed to the threaded head of the bridging connector, the guiding face of the cup-joint squeezes the converging ending of the padding bushing to yield an excellent sealing effect to the metal pipe, while in turn the padding bushing pushes and squeezes the fortifiers against the confining face and the metal pipe to yield a clasping and sealing effect against leakage inside the couple device.

Abstract: This invention proposed a temperature and optical frequency sensor using two different optical resonators. The fiber with different thermal expansion factor and refractive index can be used to sense the temperature variation. The optical resonators with different cavity lengths can be used to detect the frequency deviation. Applying a laser, a microprocessor and two optical resonators with different thermal expansion factors and resonate lengths, we invent the device which can detect the temperature and frequency simultaneously. Furthermore, the device can provide tunable and highly stabilized light source for optical system application.

Abstract: Microcapsules involving a wall of chitin or chitin derivatives or of polyhydroxylated polyamines or one of their salts, with the wall sheathing a hydrophobic substance, are prepared by forming a hydrophobic phase emulsion of the hydrophobic substance in an aqueous phase containing an anionic surfactant capable of causing insolubilization of chitosan or chitosan derivatives or polyhydroxylated polyamines, mixing the emulsion with a chitosan or chitosan derivative or polyhydroxylated polyamine organic salt so as to cause the coacervation of the chitosan or the chitosan derivatives or the polyhydroxylated polyamines around the droplets of the hydrophobic phase, subjecting the chitosan or chitosan derivative or the polyhydroxylated polyamine coacervate to an acetylation or crosslinking reaction and recovering the microcapsules, and are applicable to cosmetic compositions incorporating sunscreens.

Abstract: A stacker for stacking articles, particularly blister packs, into stacks of goods, including a goods feeder, a primary packing unit and a unit for supplying the stacks for secondary packing or processing. The packing unit has a goods magazine with a goods support, on which the articles inserted in the magazine may be deposited to form stacks of goods. The goods magazine has a first goods support and a second goods support, the first support being arranged above the stack of goods until the stack resting on the second support is removed. A further stack may be piled up on the first support and lowered into the removal position following the removal of the stack located below it.
Abstract: The known antenna connectors for transmitting RF-signals from an outside antenna to a portable telephone includes a connecting cable (8), one end of which is connected to the outside antenna (11) and the second end which is connected with a circuit (4), which capacitively or inductively transmits the RF-signals from the outside antenna to a main antenna of the telephone. In order to improve the coupling performance said circuit consists of a meander formed loop (4) of conductive material, which loop (4) is arranged on a substrate (5) of non conducting material and in one end (6) is connected with the connecting cable (7). The cable has a screen (10) which is connected with a ground element (9), and couples with the ground plane of the telephone, whereat the meander formed loop is placed beside main antenna (11) when transmitting RF-signals.
Abstract: A dryer for removing surface moisture from a pelletized product and more specifically a dryer which is constructed with dimensions enabling it to effectively centrifugally remove surface moisture from pellets of resin material received from an underwater pelletizer. The dryer is capable of operating at very low rates and easily cleaned with its overall size enabling it to be effectively used for small operations, especially laboratory applications.
Abstract: A digital video effects apparatus is arranged to generate a digital video effect by interpolating the values of parameters governing the effect, according to a given function, between time points corresponding to selected frames of a video signal and at which the parameters are fixed at selected values. The apparatus is organised in such a manner that the values of parameters are stored in exclusive timelines enabling the time points at which the parameter values are fixed to be adjusted without reference to other parameters governing the same video effect.
Abstract: Disclosed is a semiconductor memory device capable of improving a timing margin in a logic circuit using a signal latch. The semiconductor memory device according to the present invention includes an address generator including a latch circuit, wherein the address generator receives an external address signal from an external circuit and latches the external address signal in response to a control signal; and a Y-predecoder for receiving outputs from the address generator and for generating a pulse in response to the control signal. Accordingly, the semiconductor memory device according to the present invention transfers a signal at safety without considering a separate timing margin, by using the control signal in an adjacent circuit as an enable signal.

Abstract: An electronic control unit for the control of automatic watering systems having plural lines comprising an electronic circuit with a programmable processing unit for the control of a plurality of different watering lines. A manually operated selector, preferably of the rotary type, is provided, that is settable in a plurality of selectionable positions, to each one of which a specific watering cycle for the lines corresponds. By acting on the selector and on a start button, it is possible to modify the programming of the processing unit in order to associate with each single line a respective watering cycle different from the ones otherwise selectable by means of the selector.
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there are provided mutant human growth hormone proteins which exhibit enhanced affinity for growth hormone but lowered hormone activity, base sequences encoding the same and their production processes as well as uses of said proteins. The proteins according to the present invention, with their enhanced affinities for the growth hormone receptor, can inhibit the binding of growth hormone to its receptor, while they retain lowered growth hormone activities, thus finding application as a medicament for the treatment of acromegaly and gigantism.
Abstract: A multi-purpose impact sensor, preferably used in burglar-alarm systems for automobiles or in security systems for access control areas, is disclosed. In the multi-purpose impact sensor, an anode plate having a surface area is set within a metal case, while an elastic and oscillatable cathode plate, having a high restitution, is set within the case at a position above the anode plate. An annular spacer, having a predetermined thickness, is positioned between the anode and cathode plates. Anode and cathode holding rings stably hold the anode and cathode plates at positions above and under the two plates, thus accomplishing a stable arrangement of the annular spacer and the two plates within the case. A PCB is positioned under the anode holding ring. An amplifying device is positioned between the PCB and the anode plate. The multi-purpose impact sensor of this invention has a simple construction, is reduced in size and accomplishes a desired operational reliability of such a system.
Abstract: A hose for transporting a refrigerant for an electrically driven compressor has an inner layer of rubber having high resistance to an ester oil, and a laminated layer including a metallic foil, or a metallic layer formed by vapor deposition. It exhibits high degrees of electric insulation, refrigerant resistance, waterproofness and vibration resistance, and is suitable for use with an electrically driven compressor in an automobile air conditioner.
Abstract: A method for forming a layer of hemispherical silicon grains having a desired density and a desired shape in order to increase the surface area of the storage electrode of a capacitor. The method involves the formation of a thin oxide film over an under silicon layer to be formed with hemispherical silicon grains, so that the formation of those hemispherical silicon grains can be carried out in such a manner that the hemispherical silicon grains have a desired density and a desired shape under given conditions irrespective of whether or not the under silicon layer is doped with impurity ions and the crystalline structure of the under silicon layer.
