  • Patent number: 6249494
Abstract: The present invention measures first and second detection signals respectively obtained at two focuses during a focus search by means of an optical head 2. Then, a type of a disk-shaped optical record medium is determined by a microcomputer in a system controller 7, from a comparison between characteristics of the first and second measured detection signals. Moreover, the present invention can measure an amplitude and a frequency of the detection signal obtained at the focus during the focus search to thereby determine the type of the disk by using the measured result. After the parameters are set in accordance with the determined result, the focus servo control is turned on.

  • Patent number: 6244276
Abstract: Apparatus and a method for the direct recovery of residual quantities of an aqueous solution adhering to pourable mass parts following an electrolytic and/or chemical surface treatment on the parts, in the course of which the parts are carried in a perforated immersion barrel supported on a movable carriage of a barrel treatment installation. A compressed-air chamber is provided on the carriage, into which the barrel is moved, the chamber being provided with a compressed air source to cause a current of air to flow transversely through the chamber. The compressed-air chamber essentially comprises a horizontal, upwardly cylindrically convex upper half-shell which is fixed on the carriage and which encompasses in a substantially air-tight manner the upper half of the immersion barrel when the barrel has been positioned within the chamber, and a pair of horizontal, lateral, lower, outwardly cylindrically convex quarter-shells which are capable of movement towards and away from one another.

  • Patent number: 6244195
Abstract: This invention is a mass incinerator for burning various rubbishes (life rubbishes, industry wastes, hospital rubbishes and like) and flammable wastes (hospital wastes, poison material and like) under high temperature atmosphere. In particularly; to an incinerator in which the combustion chambers 101 constructed in a dome form and the auxiliar combustion chambers 102 are connected alternately to form a tunnel shape. An air supply chamber 104 is formed between the outside wall and the inside wall of the combustion chamber 101. The materials being burned are inputted through the double hinged gate so that the soot or the dust is not scattered outward. The input during the combustion process is possible to improve the treating whereby rubbishes or wastes are completely burnt to prevent the environmental pollutant such as heavy metal material or dioxin as well as soot from discharging.

  • Patent number: 6246727
Abstract: A method and a system for tuning a resonance module in e.g. a radio base station are disclosed. The resonance module has tuning means, a transmitter connection, and an antenna connection. First frequency input and output signals on the transmitter and antenna connection, respectively, are sensed and processed to tune the resonance module to a frequency of the input signal on the transmitter connection. The processing of the sensed input and output signals includes processing in a second frequency range. Prior art methods are improved by the invention through e.g. the use of a quadrature modulator to increase adjustment speed and overall applicability of the resonance module to be tuned.

  • Patent number: 6243965
Abstract: The electronic micrometer includes a casing defining at least an internal volume, in which are disposed a sleeve having an at least partially threaded inner surface. A screw is engaged in this sleeve and is able to be put in rotation with respect to the sleeve in such a way as to displace itself along the longitudinal measuring axis (x) of the device. • Patent number: 6241631
Abstract: An arrangement for belts used in flag-tag games includes a new and improved belt buckle which allows for convenient adjustment of belt lengths, as well as a secure and easily adjustable coupling of the two ends of the belt. This is accomplished by providing the belt buckle with an arrangement of slots and struts around which the belt is looped and through which the belt is trained so as to frictionally retain the belt on the buckle while determining the length of the belt. In order to attach the flags to the belt, two suction cup embodiments are employed in which the first fitting having a suction cup with an outward opening is received within a second fitting having a suction cup with an outward opening. In order to facilitate the reliable coupling, one of the cups has a vent so that air is expelled when the cups are coupled.

  • Patent number: 6243312
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device feeds back a signal made by detecting a data sensing when reading a memory chip, precharges a local data bus within a short time, performs a high-speed operation, and enhances a burst characteristic and AC characteristic responsive to the burst characteristic. The semiconductor memory device detects a sensing moment of a data generated from a local data bus in case of a read operation by using a data bus sense-amplifier unit. At this time, the detection signal precharges a local data bus and its related signals until the next data is generated.
