  • Patent number: 6213964
Abstract: A hydromechanical massaging apparatus has a mechanical component providing mechanical massaging and a hydraulic component providing hydraulic massaging. The mechanical component has a longitudinal body, with a handle on its upper surface. A rear roller is centrally mounted on the rear end of the body, and a front axle carrying a pair of front rollers is mounted on the front end of the body. Each of the front rollers is attached to an end of the front axle for limited universal movement by a ball joint connection. Each joint has a sphere captured within semi-spherical shells. The hydraulic component includes a transverse cylindrical spray chamber having a series of nozzles. The cylindrical spray chamber is removably supported in the middle of the body by a correspondingly shaped cylindrical seat. The chamber is held in place by tooth-like members. A series of water jets are emitted from the nozzles between the front and rear rollers of the mechanical portion.

  • Patent number: 6213954
Abstract: Accordingly, the object of the present invention is to provide a pulse meter comprising a pen body installed with a counting microprocessor, and a liquid crystal display (LCD) and a counter are installed on the proper position of the pen body. The counting microprocessor is connected with the LCD and the counting key. One hand may press a tested person or a patient for sensing the beat of the pulse thereof, and the other hand serves to press a counting key to count the times of the pulse, and thus the frequency of the pulse can be input into the counting microprocessor. Next, the counting microprocessor can derive the pulse number per minute and then display the result in the LCD. Since only a short period of pulse beat is necessary to be input the counting microprocessor. Thus the pulse frequency can be derived in a very short time and much time is saved.

  • Patent number: 6215465
Abstract: An input analog video signal is converted into digital video data. The digital video data is inverted to inverted digital video data. The digital video data and the inverted digital video data are selectively output for each one field period of the input analog video signal. The selectively output digital video data and the inverted digital video data are converted into a first and a second analog video signal. The first and second analog video signals are adjusted at different first and second bias voltage levels, respectively. The adjusted first and second analog video signals are selectively output to a liquid crystal display device for each one field period. It is preferable to output the same digital video data twice for each one field period before inversion. In this case, the digital video data and the inverted digital video data are selectively output for each ½ field period, and the adjusted first and second analog video signals are selectively output for each ½ field period.

  • Patent number: 6212923
Abstract: A dead bolt lock automatically blocks the extended bolt to prevent externally-applied force from thrusting the bolt back into the lock case, and in the event of physical attack the lock responds by prolonging or perpetuating the dead bolt blocking condition. A push-pull lock has a bolt whose motion in both directions is stopped in response to detection of a rise in motor current above a certain level: a cushioning arrangement allows the current-limiting feature to be implemented without risk of damage to the motor, gear teeth or other drive components. A re-locker arrangement includes an angled flange that is part of a motor-supporting bracket; when forcibly pressed, the flange breaks plastic pins to release a spring-biased re-locker wire to block the bolt from being withdrawn, and when the wire is in the dead bolting position an extension of the re-locker wire engages a ridge in the lock's case to prevent the re-locker from being manipulated back to its original position.

  • Patent number: 6216047
Abstract: An adaptive control method employs an adaptive signal generation algorithm 11 for generating an adaptive signal y(n) which cancels a cyclic signal y(n) at a measurement point 24, and an adaptive coefficient vector renewing algorithm 12 for renewing the amplitudes a(n) and phases &phgr;(n) of the adaptive signal y(n). The adaptive coefficient vector renewing algorithm 12 is quasi-normalized by a sum [A(&ohgr;)+&ggr;]. The A(&ohgr;) is a gain measurement of a transfer characteristic 23, and the &ggr; is a divergence prevention constant. Hence, in a frequency region where the gain A(&ohgr;) is high, a step size is small so that the stability of the adaptive control method can be enhanced. In a frequency region where the gain A(&ohgr;) is low, the step size is large so that the adaptability can be improved. As a result, the convergence stability and the characteristic following the frequency variation are compatible with each other.

  • Patent number: 6212370
Abstract: Provided is a radio receiver for selective calling that improves the efficiency of a battery saving function and that can reduce the possibility that an incorrect time will be displayed. According to the radio receiver for selective calling of the present invention, when a controller receives input time information from a reception section, it compares the time indicated by the time information and time indicated by a clock. When the two times match, for a subsequent specified period of time the controller does not turn on the reception section, even at the time of transmission of time information. When the times do not match, the clock is adjusted to reflect the time indicated by the time information.
