  • Patent number: 6699078
Abstract: A connector block adaptable to engage with a terminal assembly of a hermetically sealed compressor, including a circular substantially flat surface that has a plurality of holes adaptable to receive the electrical conductor pins mounted inside the terminal assembly when the connector block is engaged with the terminal assembly. At least partially surrounding the circumference of at least one of the holes is a protrusion located on the substantially flat surface. The circular substantially flat surface defines a connector lip erected around its perimeter. This connector lip is designed to cover the open end of the cap of the terminal assembly and to surround the electrical conductor pins so as to minimize possible electrical arcing. The connector lip is fisher designed to seal the open end of the cap of the terminal assembly such that no particles from the hermetically sealed compressor could enter into the cap of the terminal assembly.

  • Patent number: 6699426
Abstract: A gypsum wallboard core, and methods and apparatus for making the same are disclosed. Methods of making a gypsum wallboard core include extruding a gypsum slurry containing water, gypsum, slip agents, water-reducing agents, surfactants and, optional additives, through a die and onto a substantially flat, smooth, moving surface. The die has provisions at its outer sides for the introduction of slip agents into the slurry, and provisions at its lateral outer edges for the introduction of a strength-enhancing agent. Once extruded onto the conveyor belt, the slurry is chemically-activated to set and form a hardened board core which then may be easily removed from the conveyor belt and dried.

  • Patent number: 6698976
Abstract: Grouting equipment and methods suitable for use in underground water wells, which accomplish their goals by better centering the grouting equipment within a bore hole, even in curved bore holes, in an manner that prevents leakage of the grout into the well. Improved grouting is achieved by using corrugated, bendable incasings and expandable tubes which create a seal between the incasing and the well wall for the grout, and which prevent both contaminated surface water and grout from contaminating the groundwater. The disclosed techniques are implementable in such a manner that grouting does not necessarily need to precede the location of a groundwater nappe.

  • Patent number: 6695576
Abstract: A pump is disclosed that comprises: (1) a support structure including a body having an annular end in which an opening is defined, and a volute connected to the said end of the body so as to define a pumping chamber therewith; (2) a bladed rotor disposed in the chamber and connected to a shaft which is mounted rotatably in the body and extends through the opening; and (3) a first and a second annular sealing member which are carried by the structure and which encircle the shaft in a leaktight manner. A lubrication chamber containing a lubricating grease is defined between the sealing members and the shaft. A first sealing ring, closer to the rotor, has an inner portion which forms at least one sealing lip which bears on the shaft, and a circular portion disposed outside the lip and having a substantially U-shaped cross-section with its convex side facing the rotor.

  • Patent number: 6694586
Abstract: The invention relates to press tools for the connection, by cold forming, of tubular workpieces (2, 3) whose connection regions are provided with circular external cross-sectional shapes and are pushed one into the other. The press jaws (10) of the press tool have, in the closed state, approximately the external cross-sectional shape of the workpieces and can be provided with recesses (13, 17). Such a press tool may also have only two press jaws (10) and one bearing bolt (4). As a result of drive forces (F) introduced into the tool, cold-forming forces are exerted on the workpieces (2, 3) via said tool. Depending on manufacturing tolerances of the workpieces (2, 3), the distance (A) between the press jaws (10) varies.

  • Patent number: 6695705
Abstract: Drive shaft coupling having in-series bellows segments of different flexural resistance. The bellows segment nearest a tube section presents less flexural resistance than the immediate following bellows segment. Each individual bellows segment may be dimensioned in such a way that stress is distributed evenly over all bellows segments so that the component may be optimized; for example, with respect to installation and strength.
