  • Patent number: 7812042
Abstract: Therapeutic applications, such as prevention, treatment and supplementation, for the use of novel and other thiolatocobalamins to protect human cells against the effects of oxidative stress. In particular, this invention relates to the use of a novel synthetic thiolatocobalamin, N-acetyl-L-cysteinylcobalamin (NACCbl) to protect animal cells against oxidative stress damage. This invention also relates to the use of thiolatocobalamins, such as NACCbl, in lieu of current, commercially available forms of vitamin B12 for the treatment and prevention of conditions associated with oxidative stress damage and for dietary supplementation.

  • Patent number: 7810396
Abstract: A test device for an electronic product includes a vertical pressing pole having a pushing end. The test device also includes a movable platform with a sticking point, wherein upward movement of the movable platform moves the vertical pressing pole upwards by the sticking point. The vertical pressing pole passes through a balance weight which rests on the sticking point. A pressurized platform bears pressure from the pushing end, when the pushing end is pushed onto the pressurized platform. A load-bearing platform supports the pressurized platform and the electronic product located below the pressurized platform. The product is pressed between the pressurized platform and the load-bearing platform due to the pressure from the pushing end lying on the pressurized platform. When the movable platform is further moved downwards after the pushing end is on the pressurized platform, the sticking point bearing the balance weight is separate from the movable platform.

  • Patent number: 7793966
Abstract: Disclosed is a plug-in coupling system for joining cables between a tractor and a trailer. The invention also relates to the individual components, i.e. the semitrailer coupling and the plug-in connector on which the invention is implemented. The cables between the tractor and the trailer are usually plugged into each other by hand. Automatic systems have not been successful on the market so far. The aim of the invention is therefore to create a plug-in coupling system which allows the supply cables to be connected in a comfortable and operationally safe manner when the trailer is joined to and disconnected from the tractor. Said aim is achieved, among other things, by disposing the socket in a stationary manner below the insertion hole on the semitrailer coupling while arranging the contact points of the plug below the king pin on the plug-in connector.

  • Patent number: 7780313
Abstract: A package structure for light emitting diode (LED) comprises a base, an LED die, an optical lens and a lens holder. The base comprises at least one holder cavity formed on its surface and at least one chase formed on its side surface. The lens holder comprises an opening, at least one holder stem and at least one wedge. The optical lens is arranged between the lens holder and the base, and also through the opening. The lens holder is fastened on the base by wedging the wedge with the chase and positioned on the base by embedding the holder stem into the holder cavity to enhance the positioning between the optical lens and the base, such that the optical lens can generate a desired light pattern. Therefore, the required time of a packaging process can be reduced, and the lens holder can be removed simply for replacing the optical lens, so the objective of changing the light pattern quickly can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 7777046
Abstract: The invention provides a method for preparing the sodium salt of the novel thiol derivative of vitamin B12, N-acetyl-L-cysteinylcobalamin (Na[NACCbl]). The method involves carrying out the reaction in aqueous solvent with a relatively small excess of ligand reactant, specifically from one to less than four molar equivalents. The cobalamin derivative formed is precipitated from the aqueous solvent, preferably by the addition of a precipitate inducing solvent. This provides a product in acceptable purity without the need for an additional chromatographic purification step.

  • Patent number: 7741107
Abstract: A biological indicator for monitoring the effectiveness of a sterilizing, disinfecting treatment or process. A compound or condition is disclosed which comprises a substrate having a surface layer containing functional groups thereon desirably free of silicon linking groups. The functional groups are desirably in the form of a monolayer of a uniformed distribution and of a selected quantity. Various types of microorganism indicators, such as spores and/or etiological agent indicators are covalently bonded to the surface layer functional groups through a crosslinking reagent and thus form a uniform number and distribution of the microorganism and/or etiological agent indicators. After being subjected to sterilization or other similar disinfecting treatments or processes, along with various articles such as instruments, the indicator can be cultivated to determine the effectiveness of the sterilization, disinfection, etc. treatment or process.

  • Patent number: 7732358
Abstract: A modified alkali silicate composition for forming an inorganic network matrix. The modified alkali silicate matrix is made by reacting an alkali silicate (or its precursors such as an alkali hydroxide, a SiO2 source and water), an acidic inorganic composition, such as a reactive glass, water and optional fillers, additives and processing aids. An inorganic matrix composite can be prepared by applying a slurry of the modified aqueous alkali silicate composition to a reinforcing medium and applying the temperature and pressure necessary to consolidate the desired form. The composite can be shaped by compression molding as well as other known fabrication methods. A notable aspect of the invention is that, although composite and neat resin components prepared from the invention can exhibit excellent dimensional stability to 1000° C. and higher, they can be prepared at the lower temperatures and pressures typical to organic polymer processing.
