  • Patent number: 7621046
Abstract: A molding process of composite material including high-thermal-conductor and room-temperature magnetic refrigerant comprises the steps of nesting magnetic refrigerant with high-thermal-conductor and connecting them mutually, especially making the room-temperature magnetic-thermal-conductor into sheet, strip or filament, inserting the high-thermal-conductors'sheet, strip or filament in the room-temperature magnetic refrigerant's sheet or filament and connecting them fully. This invention has solved the application of the room-temperature magnetic-thermal-conductor, particularly the application of the room-temperature magnetic-thermal-conductor which is lower thermal-conductor, easier oxidation and powdering. The invention utilizes the high thermal-conductor to solve the problem of room-temperature magnetic refrigerant which is poor in conventional heat exchange, meanwhile decreases the loss of the magnetic-thermal effect.

  • Patent number: 7615274
Abstract: This describes a procedure for replicative fabrication and packaging of at least one microstructured molded part as one magazine/molded part composite as well as a magazine with at least one microstructured molded part as one magazine/molded part composite. The first step covers fabrication of at least one microstructured molded part using an initially closed tool which consists of at least one first and one second tool half. In the second step, both tool halves are opened, whereby the molded part remains in the first tool half. In the third step, at least the second tool half is replaced with at least one additional tool half. In the fourth step, the replicative fabrication of the magazine is carried out using the first tool half containing the molded part and the additional tool half. Finally in the fifth step, magazine and molded part are demolded simultaneously as one magazine/molded part composite.

  • Patent number: 7607374
Abstract: Tube ends such as those of boiler tube banks, are prepared utilizing any of various combinations of processes which include a step of micro-diameter tube film removal from a portion of a tube end, including an area below a beveled segment, or segment to be beveled. The micro-diameter film removal step provides the tube with an exposed, clean metal surface which is conducive to a subsequent welding or bonding operation performed on the tube. Preferably, the process is performed with a tube milling tool having interchangeable milling or cutting heads. A specialized milling head is also disclosed and, in one embodiment, is at least used to perform the micro-diameter tube film removal step. Advantageously, the tube film removal milling head also removes a weld overlay on one or both sides of a tube in one embodiment. The tube film removal milling head includes an attached blade having a planar face configuration which enables tube film removal.

  • Patent number: 7603192
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of designing an orthopedic implant in which a plurality of samples of the bone are selected and a CT scan of each of the samples of the bone is taken so that the data from the CT scan can be used to generate a 3D graphical solid body model of each of the sample of the bone. The 3D graphical models are placed into a category of one or more of average, small, and large, and the center of mass and an X, Y and Z plane for each model is determined. The 3D graphical models for one category is assembled and aligned at the center of mass to create a categorized composite 3D graphical solid body model of the bone. The categorized composite 3D graphical model is sectioned at a specified interval to create a lofted contoured surface of a selected thickness which is cut to create a categorized implant profile.

  • Patent number: 7579574
Abstract: The invention provides molding compounds that are particularly suitable to be molded into an article such as a heating element that will conduct heat and not burn when an electric current is passed through the article. These compounds are generally liquid thermosetting molding resins which comprise a thermoset resin matrix such as a terephthalate polyester which can include blends of polyester and/or vinyl ester with a significant loading of conductive inorganic filler, typically graphite. The compositions also include flame and sound retardant additives, and glass fibers. They are further formulated to meet the desired molding characteristics; to withstand the operating temperatures to which they will be exposed; and to have a predetermined strength and a desirable user interface including appearance, and odor. Typically, the compounds will have a glass transition temperature from about 160° C. (320° F.) to about 195° C. (383° F.).
