Abstract: A graphic staging device for displaying substantially two-dimensional graphics such as a sign or the like of generally planar configuration, preferably in at least a slightly arcuate presentation and for protecting the same from ambient exposure, is comprised of first and second staging member which are nearly identical, having longitudinal asymmetry such that the two may be nested in mechanically interlocked, transversely mirror-imaged face-to-face engagement. There are very slight dimensional variations between the two staging members; in one instance the overall dimensions are identical but thickness differs, in another instance the dimensional variations are on the same order as the thickness of the members or less.
Abstract: A venting closure assembly for a milk tank where there is an outside stainless steel cover and a venting closure member positioned beneath the cover. The venting closure member forms a circumferential seal around the periphery of the cover, and it has a downwardly and outwardly flaring moderately flexible skirt which forms a peripheral venting channel. When there is a surge of milk in the tank (caused by acceleration of deceleration of the tank on the road), the surge of liquid upwardly against the closure member pushes the closure member upwardly to close a vent opening in the outside cover, thus preventing milk from escaping from the outside cover.

Abstract: In a wing and nacelle combination, where the nacelle is positioned below and forwardly of the wing leading edge, a wake control device to control a turbulent wake which is formed at the upper forward lip portion of the nacelle. This wake control device comprises a forward vortex generating portion to create a vortex which travels over the leading edge of the wing, and also a fence located at the middle third of the nacelle to control boundary layer air and thus properly locate the wake control vortex.
Abstract: An FM/CW radar linearization network provides target identification data discriminating a target from background reflections and/or false targets by compensating for random variations in the linearity of the frequency sweep of the radar transmitter in the processing of the radar receiver signal, the latter being characteristic of the range and physical size of the target. Linearization is achieved by sampling the transmitter signal, generating an error signal proportional to and indicative of any deviations in the frequency sweep of the transmitter from that for linear operation, and applying that error signal to correct the target data signal, thereby frequency normalizing the same for processing and utilization.

Abstract: The blade of the stick is formed by placing two blade sections against the lower tapered end of a handle of the stick. The two blade sections are each made as laminated sections, made up of two laminations of wood with a fiberglass layer therebetween. The grain of the two wood pieces of each blade section are offset 45.degree. to one another for greater shear strength. The cavity between the two blade sections is filled with a pliable material that hardens to make the complete blade structure. The outer surfaces of the blade and the side surfaces of the handle are coated with layers of fiberglass.

Abstract: An airfoil used in a ruddevator assembly for controlling movement of an aircraft refueling boom, where there are two airfoils (i.e. ruddevators) mounted to the boom, each at a dihedral angle of about 42.degree.. Each airfoil has an outboard section, which is an advanced technology cambered airfoil for high lift at transonic speeds, with a raked wing tip. The inboard portion of the airfoil has a forwardly extending strake-like member having a sharp leading edge which in planform comprises three sections. There is a curved forward edge section and two rearwardly extending edge sections, which in operation are positioned at high sweep angles. The side edge portions of the strake-like member create vortices which travel over the inboard portion of the airfoil to augment lift over a wide range of surface deflection of the airfoil (i.e., angle of attack).
