  • Patent number: 6575487
Abstract: A transport apparatus to launch a boat into the water and retrieve the boat from the water. There is an elongate main frame having forward and rear main frame sections pivotally connected to one another along a transverse axis at approximately a mid location along the length. At the forward end of the main frame, there is an operating station and also forward wheels which are capable of turning a full ninety degrees in either direction, and there are at the opposite end rear support wheels which can be raised or lowered. When a boat is being taken out of the water, the apparatus is moved so that its rear end moves into the water, the rear wheels are raised to lower the rear frame section and the two main frame sections are articulated relative to one another to lower the pivot location. In this configuration the boat can be brought onto the rear main frame section, the rear section raised, and the boat carried out of the water.

  • Patent number: 6575326
Abstract: A venting closure assembly for and milk tank where there is an outside stainless steel cover and a venting closure member positioned beneath the cover. The venting closure member forms a circumferential seal around the periphery of the cover and in one form has a downward and outward flaring flexible skirt, which forms a peripheral venting channel. When there is a surge of product in the tank (e.g. caused by acceleration of the tank) the surge of liquid is forced upwardly against the closure member and takes a circumferential path to slowdowns the surge of milk. In another form, a two-piece closure member is employed.

  • Patent number: 6563036
Abstract: The apparatus of the present invention 1) holds percussion mallets for transportation or storage, 2) converts any concert music stand or desk into a trap table for holding mallets and small percussion instruments such as tambourines, triangles, and claves thereon, and 3) provides a pocketed surface disposed below the surface of the music desk to hold mallets in an easily accessible manner. The upper portion of the trap bag has a sleeve which slips over the shelf or edge of the music desk, securing the trap bag to the desk. A padded portion rests on the surface of the desk to sustain small percussion instruments and mallets. The stick or mallet holding segment hangs below the desk to contain the mallets in a performance ready posture for the percussionist. When the performance is over, the trap bag is lifted off the edge of the desk and closed for easy transit or storage.

  • Patent number: 6502646
Abstract: A method and apparatus to repair dents formed by a golf ball impacting the surface of a golf green. A restoring tool is mounted to the top of the handle of a putter, and this tool comprises a base member and a ground penetrating portion which is formed as a pair of tines and which is rotatably mounted to move from a stowed position flush against the base, to an operating position where it extends at right angles to the base. The putter is inverted so that the end of the handle can be positioned against the raised edge of the dent. The tines (outwardly extending) are moved to penetrate into the soil at a location outwardly of the raised edge of the dent, and the compression surface of the base member presses the sod layer downwardly and displaces the underlying ground layer laterally to fill into the recess portion of the dent. This also causes the displaced portion of the sod laterally over the dent.

  • Patent number: 6494467
Abstract: A structurally reinforced snowboard comprising upper and lower reinforcing components positioned at upper and lower surface regions of the snowboard. The upper and lower reinforcing components have reinforcing strip portions which are vertically aligned with one another. In one preferred configuration, these extend along. end side portions of the board and converge toward an intermediate location. In other configurations, these cross with one another. The arrangement improves torsional stiffness of the board, while permitting the desired flexural stiffness profile to be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6488675
Abstract: A system for collecting, transporting and disposing of biofluids, such as those collected in a hospital or other health facility, in a manner to protect an operator and related support devices and systems from contact with potentially hazardous biofluids. The system provides a portable container adapted to be connected to the patient's suction tubes and also to the vacuum source, so that biofluid is collected in the container. The container is then moved to a base disposal location, and an outlet valve of the valve and connecting assembly of the container is connected to the base assembly, and the valve of the container moved to an open position. A sealed discharge passageway is formed, and the biofluid flows through this passageway. The valve of the container is closed, and the container removed and either disposed of, or washed, and sanitized so as to be ready for reuse. There is also provided a plug and manifold assembly to removably interfit with the container.

  • Patent number: 6398877
Abstract: A parts washing method which utilizes a centrifugal filter to substantially reduce the need to replace its solvent. Solvent in a washing basin flows down a drain in the parts washing basin, through a screen to a centrifugal filter assembly, with a disposable filter in the filter receptacle of the centrifugal filter assembly. Thus the contaminated solvent flows from the drain, into a disposable filter element located in a spinning filter receptacle, where centrifugal force draws the solvent back into the solvent container while the materials washed from the part remain in the disposable filter element. The clean solvent is collected in a reservoir and recirculated back to the wash basin.

  • Patent number: 6386028
Abstract: The present invention provides an peak chamber pressure measuring apparatus 1 for use with a regular firearm 2 using a given ammunition. The apparatus comprises: a piezoelectric accelerometer 3 for generating a recoil acceleration electrical output signal from recoil acceleration of the firearm upon discharge thereof, and provided with releasable mounting means 6 for rigidly securing the accelerometer 3 to the firearm 2 in proximity to its chamber 11. The accelerometer 3 has signal output means 12 coupled to a signal processing means 13. The signal processing means 13 converts said recoil acceleration electrical output signal which is representative of the peak chamber pressure, using a conversion relationship based on the mass of each of the firearm, and the projectile and the propellant components of the ammunition, and the firearm bore diameter, the signal processing means 13 having signal output means for connection to output signal display means 16.
