Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the fluid flow rate from a drainage pond that is common in developed sites where the drainage pond is adapted to supply a degree of fluid capacitance so the runoff does not overflow downstream creek beds and the like. The method and apparatus for controlling the fluid draining from a pond comprises a system for allowing a higher flow that is allowed by regulatory bodies when the pond is at a lower level so the pond drains more quickly when it is at a lower water level. Thus the apparatus allows for a smaller retention pond.
Abstract: A mobile support system having a central region that allows the legs to move in an unobstructed manner and providing an upper body support assembly where the weight is distributed between the elbow region and hand region of the individual for a desirable weight distribution for assisted bipedal motion such as walking or running.
Abstract: A safety system for a coking facility where there is a coke drum and a drill assembly. When the coke accumulates in the drum, a drill head of the drill assembly is lowered into the coke drum to emit high pressure water jets to remove the coke from the coke drum. There is a enclosing structure with an access door which is fixedly mounted at a location above an upper opening of the coke drum, so that when the drill head is moved out of the coke drum and there is an accidental jet water discharge, it will be redirected at a location within the enclosing structure. Interlock systems are provided.
Abstract: A method for providing a decorative wood surface that is two-dimensional but creates a three-dimensional visual pattern. The upper surface of a wood member is embossed to form ridges, valleys, and transition zones. After embossing, the upper portions of the ridges are removed so as to leave a substantial planar surface which is made up of lower portions of the ridges, upper portions of the valleys, and slanted surface portions of the transition areas. The result is that there are different reflective patterns which provide the three-dimensional visual effect.
Abstract: A tool assembly which is adapted to perform a cutting operation and also a beveling operation on a pipe. There is a rotary power saw which has rotary drive member to which a saw blade can be mounted. There is a bevel section having a mounting member that connects to the rotary drive member, and a bevel member. There is a locating surface portion around the axis of rotation of the bevel member, and an end lateral locating section and an apex end of the bevel member. The bevel section can be removably connected to the drive member of the power saw.
Abstract: A system and method for dissipating vortices that form at the wingtips on aircraft and from other airfoils. A jet air stream is discharged in a location at or proximate to the outer end portion of the airfoil into the vortex flow, and the jet air stream is moved cyclically back and forth. The cyclic movement can be at lower or higher frequencies to alleviate at least in part intensity of the vortex or accelerate instability of the vortex which leads to vortex dissipation.

Abstract: A luggage bin assembly (10) adapted to be disposed within a vehicle is provided. The luggage bin assembly includes a bin (14) reciprocally mounted for movement between an opened position and a closed position. The luggage bin assembly also includes a linkage assembly (16) adapted to be hingedly mounted to the bin for swinging movement with the bin as the bin is reciprocated between the open and closed positions. A reciprocating assist mechanism (20) is coupled to the linkage mechanism to selectively apply an assist load to the linkage assembly when the bin is reciprocated between the opened and closed position.
Abstract: A system for managing utility power use by ascertaining the amount of resources to be purchased from a power supplier, identifying transactions that balance energy needs with various users, and production of schedules that maximize or minimize potential revenue from surplus energy. To accomplish this, there are studied forecasted weather, historical weather patterns, industrial and seasonal loads, and other factors affecting timing and use of power.
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for the handling, transport and or storage of items of wearing apparel which are hung on hangers. In the system, there is plurality of transport units which travel over a rail system from a first location (e.g. an inbound location) to a second location (e.g. an outbound location). Each transport unit has a carrier section which, in the first operating position of the transfer unit, is generally horizontally aligned, and is suspended from a rail by means of first and second roller support sections at opposite ends of the carrier section. The transport unit has a second operating position where the carrier section is rotated relative to one of the roller support sections to a more vertical orientation where the garment units are closer together in a horizontal direction and more vertically aligned with one another, this being a position in which the garment units can be stored and/or shipped in a more closely packed configuration.

In one form, the rotation of the club about the shaft (the roll) is controlled in conjunction with the pitch of the club.
Abstract: A system for improving either or both the physical well-being and physical performance of a person, such as in day-to-day activities or sports-related activities. The person's skeletal and muscular characteristics are assessed relative to such things as flexibility, movement, and strength, and the person's performance characteristics relating to an optimized performance of a task or a sports-related activity (e.g. golf swing) are determined. By matching the differences in the person's physical characteristics and performance characteristics, an optimized physical remedial course can be initiated, as well as a remedial course in improving the physical performance related more to learned defects in performance.
