Abstract: A rotating lumber sorting device has a rotatable transfer element provided on its periphery with a plurality of receptacles which are spaced from one another in a peripheral direction and have different widths substantially corresponding to different thickness of boards to be sorted, and a plurality of guiding elements having inlet ends located close to the transfer element and also having different widths substantially corresponding to the widths of the receptacles, so that the boards of different widths are first received into the receptacles of the transfer element with each part received in a corresponding one of the receptacles, and thereafter the boards are transferred to the guiding elements and each board is transferred from a corresponding one of the receptacles of the transfer element into a corresponding one of the guiding elements, the guiding elements having outlets which are spaced from one another so as to guide having different thickness into separate accumulating places.

Abstract: A universal cold-cathode type ion source with a closed-loop electron drifting source and with an ion-beam propagation direction perpendicular to the plane of electron drifting is intended for uniformly treating stationary or moveable objects with such processes as cleaning, activation, polishing, thin-film coating, or etching. The ion source of the invention allows adjustment of beam parameters and configurations and has an ion emitting slit of an adjustable geometry. In one embodiment, the adjustment is carried out by changing the width of the slit by shifting moveable parts of the cathode in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the ion beam. In another embodiment the slit configuration is adjusted by shifting a moveable part of the cathode in the direction of the beam propagation. The invention also provides a method for adjusting the shape and configuration of the ion beam with respect to the object to be treated.

Abstract: A multidirectionally stretch-crazed microencapsulated polymer film having a matrix material and microcapsules which are formed in the matrix material in the form of crazes which are filled with an encapsulated substance (30, 30a) and oriented at least in two mutually intersecting directions X and Y. The filled crazes form a net-like structure. The microencapsulated film is produced by stretching the original film under a controlled rate of stretching in two intersecting directions in an environment of a surface-active substance with or, if necessary, without a material to be encapsulated. When stretching is discontinued, the crazes are closed and encapsulate the material.

Abstract: An electroluminescent light source has a core member and a pair of transparent band structures between which the core member is sandwiched and which in an assembled state form a transparent sheath. The core is formed by a plurality of elongated electrodes spaced from each other and interconnected by means of connecting bodies of a dielectric material. Spaces between the electrodes are filled with an electroluminescent material which is applied in the form of a film onto the connecting bodies. The entire system of electrodes is placed between a pair of electroconductive buses to which the electrodes are connected electrically and which support the system of electrodes through dielectric separating blocks. In order to provide dynamic light effects (e. g., "traveling light") the electrodes may be combined into separate isolated groups arranged lengthwise or widthwise with electrical connection of each group to a respective electroconductive bus via a switching device.

Abstract: The method and equipment are proposed for wastes thermal destruction on the surface of a bath of melted metal and slag with a heating in plasma jets and the off-gas bubbling through a bath of melted slag, including a plasma hose generated in waste introduction zone which prevents the coming waste from contact with cooled units of the facility; thus, the reliable destruction of bacteria contaminated and toxic wastes are provided. The plasma hose is generated by the coaxial plasma torch with the hollow central electrode through which the wastes are fed. The units for a regular bacteriological examination of waste treatment products are also provided when the processed wastes are infectious wastes generated by medical and veterinary institutions.
