Abstract: A method of playing a wagering card game which includes selected elements of the games of Blackjack and Poker, said wagering card game being played between a dealer and one or more players, where the dealer deals from a stack of cards containing a plurality of standard 52-card decks of cards and Poker payout odds are predetermined, this wagering card game having rules wherein:
a. each player elects to play Blackjack or Poker or both by placing a Blackjack bet or a Poker ante bet or both respectively,
b. then the dealer deals according to standard Blackjack procedure to all those players who elected to play Blackjack,
c. then before the dealer turns over his hole card and before he makes the Blackjack payout or collection to the players playing Blackjack, each player who previously made a Poker bet is invited to play Poker using his Blackjack hand as the beginning of his Poker hand by placing a Poker raise bet,
d. then each player electing to play Poker places his raise bet,
Abstract: A process for controlling the microwave heating of a product to a temperature which is higher than or equal to a determined temperature for a period which is longer than or equal to a determined period, a marking support and a receptacle for product intended for such a control. Measurement is made of the resistivity of a thermally crosslinkable ink filled with conductive particles, with which the product or the receptacle containing the product has been previously marked and the resistivity of which is arranged to decrease in a predetermined manner in relation to the temperature and the period of microwave heating. The invention is applicable especially to the control of the sterilization of a pharmaceutical or agri-foodstuff product.

Abstract: A surgical stapler having a pivotable trigger in a housing and a cartridge of surgical staples, has a moving anvil which receives one staple at a time in its open configuration. A forming blade moves to engage and capture the staple between the forming blade and the anvil and drive the staple away from the cartridge allowing the user to see and place the points of the staple at a desired location on the tissue. Further movement of the forming blade pressing upon the top of the staple forces the staple legs to pierce and close joining adjacent edges of tissue. A detent prevents reversibility of the trigger and return of the staple after and the trigger reaches a pre-cock position, allowing the user to relax his hand while the staple remains exposed, until the trigger stroke is completed and the staple is closed and stripped from the anvil.
Abstract: A homokinetic coupling which has a housing or outer ring with a cavity limited by a spherical surface and open toward the outside at least one edge. An inner ring, having an outer spherical surface with axially extending grooves is placed within this cavity. A set of balls flattened at one edge is accommodated at that edge in the grooves. The bottoms of the grooves form a rolling surface along which the balls are capable of moving by the flattened edge. At the other edge the balls are accommodated, rotating by the spherical edge in a recess forming a part of the housing. The housing has a plurality of rotating ball-shaped elements with a recess in each element, in which recess the spherical edge of the respective ball is partially accommodated.

Abstract: A flyleaf heat sealer for adhering a flyleaf having its inner surface pre-coated with hot melt or heat sensitive adhesive to the exposed outer surfaces of the end sheets of a book block insert, includes means for engaging and transporting a book block insert and the flyleaf folded therearound, means for directing a flow of air heated to a temperature adequate to melt the adhesive against and impinging upon the outer surfaces of the flyleaf, and means for pressing and cooling the flyleaf and book insert between them and removing heat from the flyleaf and book block, and thus curing and hardening the adhesive.
Abstract: The invention relates to improvements in an apparatus employing computerized tomography for diagnosis and stereotactic surgery. A new tomographic scanning system is shown including a base, a source of penetrating energy, a detector which produces scanning signals, source and detector positioning means, a C-shaped frame having top and bottom arms, means for securing the detector and source to the top and bottom arms, and first, second, and third drive means for positioning the frame.
Abstract: A transferable enamel sheet and the process for producing it is disclosed, which consists of a carrier film, a release layer applied thereon, a paint or enamel layer and an adhesive layer whereby a neutralization layer of wax-type consistency, preferably carnuaba wax is applied to the release layer which is of the dimethyl-siloxane type (silicone). It is possible to preform two types of transferable enamel sheets. One of them is characterized by the adhesive layer between the neutralization layer and the paint or enamel layer. In this case the enamel paint itself is used as a removal coating, which can immediately be adhered to the surface to be touched up or painted. The other type is characterized by a buffer layer, preferably acrylic resin coated on the neutralization layer and by sharp defined enamel-characters being printed on the buffer layer with an adhesive layer on the outer side to transfer the characters to any surface.
Abstract: An electric appliance safety system including a hand-held appliance, a power input for receiving electric current, a two-pole switch for activating the appliance, a power cord connecting the appliance with the switch and a pair of manually operable control elements operatively coupled to the two-pole switch for controlling its position. A hanger box encloses the switch and control elements, except for protruding portions of the control elements, and is adapted to receive the appliance. When the appliance is removed from the hanger box, the protruding portion of one of the control elements can be pressed manually, until latched on the other control element, thereby closing the switch and activating the appliance. When the appliance is hung on the hanger box, the protruding portion of the other control element is pressed down, thereby releasing the first control element, opening the switch, and disconnecting the appliance.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a multilayer powder blank, and the product of such manufacture which is suitable for subsequent extrusion. A hollow cylindrical container with its central axis oriented horizontally is rotated while powder is allowed to fall from a powder distribution tube in the center of the container downward onto the inner surface of the rotating wall, thereby forming successive layers of powder which are maintained in position by centrifugal forces acting thereon. The powder blank consisting of the multiple layers is removed from the container, isostatically compressed, and finally sintered, with fusion of the outer powder layers into a fused, water-tight coating.

Abstract: An apparatus for grouping unitary dose containers which have polygonal collars receives such containers from a supply magazine and directs them by a first transfer device onto mandrels on plates carried by a rotating drum. The containers are carried by the drum to a second station where heads of a joining device join adjacent edges of collars of selected containers. Subsequently, the drum is further rotated for carrying the joined containers to another station where a second transfer device transfers the joined containers onto a receiving device.
Abstract: Each odd-numbered heddle frame is actuated by a pair of rockers mounted on two horizontal axes. Each even-numbered heddle frame is actuated by a pair of rockers which are mounted on two other horizontal axes. The resultant increase in the pitch between rockers on one and the same axis permits the use of the actuating device for heddle frames of small thickness.
