Abstract: Centrifugal analyzer and method for staining biological or non-biological samples in microgravity, wherein the method utilizes an increase in weight of a fluid sample as a function of g-load, to overcome cohesive and frictional forces from preventing its movement in a preselected direction. Apparatus is characterized by plural specimen reservoirs and channels in a slide, each channel being of differing cross-section, wherein respective samples are selectively dispensed, from the reservoirs in response to an imposed g-factor, precedent to sample staining. Within the method, one thus employs microscope slides which define channels, each being of a differing cross-section dimension relative to others. In combination therewith, centrifugal slide mounting apparatus controllably imposes g-vectors of differing magnitudes within a defined structure of the centrifuge such as a chip array.
Abstract: A balanced free-standing juvenile safety gate characterized by its facile placement and displacement in a passageway wherein adjustably connected frame sections include a hinge frame and frame supporting platform with a hinge standpost being fixed to the platform; an extendible latch frame attached to the hinge frame with a latch handle atop said frame section, said latch handle having intermediate pivot connection to the frame section by pivoted connectors which in turn join the latch handle to a lever yoke, the lever yoke being connected at a lower end to a moveable bracket, whereby, upon closure of the latch handle transverse movement of bracket and pressure bar is forced into registry with one extreme of the passageway, against resistance of the standpost on an opposite extreme of the passageway; a caster supports the latch frame in extension of the hinge frame, during positions of passageway closure and opening.
Abstract: This heavy-duty, sliding panel door guard/bumper includes a rigid base plate which is suitable for mounting upon a doorjamb or a sliding panel in a distortion-free connection, by means of plural fastening anchors. The panel serves as a mount for opposed trunnions which mount a wheel axle thereon. The gudgeons of the trunnions are elevated vertically from the base plate, adjacent one end thereof and the elevation of each trunnion is inclined forwardly to form a sliding slope which corresponds at its proximal end to the circumference of an aligned sliding panel bumper wheel, although the maximum elevation of the trunnions is less than the protruding circumference of the bumper wheel. The wheel has axle bearings therein such that a minimum of friction is presented to passing contact of one heavy duty panel which is slid relative to another.
Abstract: The invention encompasses a juvenile safety gate latch and housing which is handily mobile, its function being to render the existing gate secured, for intermittent passage of an adult through a gateway. It is especially useful for swinging such a gate from its open to closed position, and vice versa. It has specific utility for gates which are extendible and retractable. In their extended, closed position they compress against walls of a passageway for fixation against dislodging forces. The latch housing may be mounted upon a door stop or balustrade separately from the gate, but it is ideally portable with the gate from one passageway to another. It is characterized by its portability and versatile mounting without the use of any screws or other fixing devices. Once mounted it permits the adult to open and close the gate with one hand.
Abstract: The present industrial purification system consists of an electronic power supply and control unit, an ionization delivery unit, having at least one unique Copper/Silver electrode rods. It's objective as applied to water-based fluids in a closed-loop flow system is to prevent electrostatic materials from building up on the cathodic ionization rods and/or achieving ionization in very low conductive water-based systems which have as their medium de-ionized, ultra-purified, or reverse osmosis filtered water. The power supply and control unit requires 120 or 240 vac input at less than 1 amp, and provides an adjustable regulated dc voltage to the electrode rods, dc voltage being 50 volts. A zero center meter on the control panel indicates the actual voltage supplied to the electrodes, whereas current flowing through the electrodes is indicated by a second zero centered meter.

Abstract: A portable ground engaging, draft and equalizer assembly and kit for loading and subsequent hauling of discrete items of large bulk such as mulch, leaves, and grass cuttings. The kit is characterized by a singletree draft bar to which a hauling harness is secured, the draft bar and harness bearing clevis clips for attachment to a flexible, reinforced tarpaulin. Grommets suitably anchored in the tarpaulin selvedge edges provide towable connection thereto. Specific reinforcement of the tarp ensures against tearing under excess load conditions and the tarp is thus provided with consistently spreadable characteristics. The coaction of tow bar, tarpaulin weights in the combination, enhance the continual spreading of the tarpaulin when it is loaded and being towed by hand or tractor. The assemblage provides a readily furled travel kit, the tow bar serving as a rigid core therefor.
Abstract: An automatic advance unit as applied to the circuit breaker ignition of motorcycles. In the circuit breaker advance unit herein, flyweight roll pins are not set in the flyweights, per se, but they are mounted in the advance unit backing plate, ensuring that the flyweights are movable in perfect horizontal position. The advance unit assembly baseplate and centrally disposed breaker cam journal thereon has connection to a driving gear cam; opposed flyweight mounting pins project from the, backing plate and opposed flyweight mounting pins are on the backing plate, per se; opposed flyweight roll pins being set thereon, breaker cam spot pin is interposed on the plate including the breaker cam and flyweight roll pins. A breaker cam 9 is mounted in extension of journal of the backing plate, centrally thereof; centrifugally activated flyweights are slideably contacting contiguous portions of the baseplate.
Abstract: Lightweight speaker cabinets manufactured from acoustical composite panels having unique acoustical and structural properties, include an acoustical composite laminate consisting of a porous inner core of closed cell rigid urethane foam which is bonded to fiberglass rovings or skin by means of polyester resin and resin tie blocks, interconnecting the exterior and interior roving and core.
Abstract: A complemental series of handheld, tactile devices in kit form to assist in behavioral modification training techniques as well as utilizing the techiques of "resisted movement" and "successive approximation". Each positioner device is handheld, with one portion protruding from the lips and the other portion loosely fitting on the patient's hard plate. Different shapes are introduced to the tongue and lips on each respective device. A commonalty within the interdependent positioner devices is presented by an elongated palatal base defining a convex upper surface to engage the palate, a manipulable handle projecting from the base and the respective devices are further characterized in configuration.
Abstract: Apparatus for treatment of spasticity by electrical stimulation in male and female patients having spinal cord injury. The apparatus is likewise adapted to stimulate ejaculatory nerves in the male through ejaculation and is characterized by an electronic stimulator which delivers current by rectal probe to the prostate and seminal vesicle glands in serial variance of since wave voltage. In both male and female treatment of spasticity, substantially similar apparatus is employed.

Abstract: Portable association croquet wicket practice assembly of three-point playing surface contact, defining a simulated target wicket wherein upright legs are fixedly spaced apart in regulation measure by a topmost transverse crown, the free ends of the legs being supported by surface contact, the target wicket being ballasted and balanced rearwardly by two interconnected weights, a first weight being elevated and fixed relative to the crown to apply vertical and horizontal moments to the wicket, a second weight being in slope declination relative to the first weight to apply target aligned and anchoring moments to the wicket. The wicket, per se, is white in the assembly foreground and neutral or dark in its background.
Abstract: A thermodynamic constant volume vapor compression heat pump system including method and apparatus wherein a closed fluid loop having first, intermediate and second treatment stations, is employed. A liquid refrigerant fluid under low pumping pressure is introduced to a first treatment station following initial expansion, accelerating propulsion, and atomization thereof, precedent to evaporation of the refrigerant fluid through a divisive containment of the accelerated refrigerant fluid.
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a plurality of electric switches, pneumatic actuators for the switches, assemblies for preventing inadvertent actuation of one or more switches and supports for the elements of the assemblies in coactive relation to each other, in such a way as to prevent eventual binding of the spring arm retainer. This apparatus further eliminates the need for molding of the retainer plate or the separate molding of the supports leading to a reduction in cost and assembly time.
Abstract: A device which adapts to the neck of a patient who has undergone a tracheostomy. It is useful in supplying humidification and oxygenation upon inhalation and to exhaust the outgoing exhalation gases and secretions upon exhalation. It is characterized as a tracheostomy bubble and has front and rear barriers which remain in spaced relation to each other, irrespective of the patient's breathing.
Abstract: In storage and utilization of disposable bedding materials as for example for institutional usage, non-woven bedding materials dispensably secured to a portable bed, and including tensioning therefor, whereby the two or more bedding materials such as sheets are held in superposed and stretched relation to the mattress of a bed, the system to include means for longitudinally shifting used portions of bedding materials, for cutting same, while simultaneously replacing same in bedding relation to a bed mattress. Sheets may either be pulled, hand-cranked or motorized on a bed.
Abstract: A vehiclular towing hitch is described wherein its coupling to the frame or bumper of a towing vehicle may be easily connected and/or disconnected, simply by towing hitch extension and traverse. The towing hitch is characterized principally by an extendible tongue on its trailing end which is slidable, relative to draft bars and a tie bar, permitting, when extended, the angular dislocation thereof to the degree that an attached towing hitch may be readily secured to the towed trailer vehicle frame ball mount without any further movement at all of the towing vehicle relative to the towed vehicle.
