Abstract: The present invention provides the technique for isolating the toxin of the Sarcocystis protozoa, which may be later used in the production of specific antibodies against the sarcocystine responsible for the symptoms of sarcocystosis. The technique of the invention consists of separating the blood serum of an infected animal followed by dialysis thereof and finally the sample is dried. The technique is more effective when heart muscle material from an intermediate host with Sarcocystis cysts is used to contaminate a carnivorous mammal final host.

Abstract: A security lock having a main locking bolt connected to a U-shaped tail member slidably mounted in a housing secured to the door. The U-shaped tail member has an upper branch engaged by a turnable driving arm for movement between a retracted unlocked position for the main bolt and an extended locked position therefor. A spring biasses the driving arm to move the U-shaped tail member to the extended locked position. A key cylinder and an interior handle are connected to the driving arm to turn the arm and unlock the bolt. A spring-loaded latch is biassed to engage the lower branch of the U-shaped tail member in the retracted unlocked position. In the closed position of the door, the latch releases the U-shaped tail member which, under the action of the spring, drives the main bolt to its locked position. The latch can be operated when the door is open to release the U-shaped tail member so the main bolt extends from the lock.
Abstract: Improved sports flooring for practicing sports indoor as in sports halls, for example basketball, football, handball, volleyball, etc. It has improved biomechanical characteristics and the vertical bouncing height is higher than 90%, having also a friction coefficient appropriate to run and rotate rapidly. It is comprised of a double-panel marine (quality) plywood (1,3) joined to each other with angle offset of 45.degree.. Elements or feet (2) made of rubber or the like, in contact with the ground, are added or stapled to the lower panel (1). On the visible face of the second marine panel (3) is applied a layer of glue for lying sticking the agglomerated cork sheets (4), in a joined configuration. Finally, two varnish layers (5) are applied.
Abstract: A device for supporting a dental prosthesis and to provide a rigid engagement to a dental implant or natural dentition while correcting the lack of parallelism of the latter. The device includes an implant abutment that has a spherical portion and an anchorage portion for rigidly mounting to the implant. A tubular engaging assembly supports the prosthesis and includes two ends. At least one of the ends has a diameter that is smaller than the diameter of the spherical portion and sufficiently large to house a substantial area of the spherical portion. A dental surgeon fills the tubular engaging assembly with cement and brings it in contact with the spherical portion. A protuberance with irregularities for enhancing the engagement is introduced in side the tubular engaging assembly. The latter can be positioned in site to correct any lack of parallelism of the implant.
Abstract: An improvement for containers for medicaments that have to be ingested or applied periodically during the day or night and these containers include a neck connecting the body of a container. A ring with markings is snugly mounted to the neck so that it can be selectively positioned to make one of the markings coincide with one of two reference marking members. One of the two reference marking members is selectively covered with one pad member. The pad member is mounted to the reference marking assembly and it is foldable so that a user can selectively cover one of the reference marking members.
Abstract: A device for supporting dumbbells that have a bar with two ends and a weight mounted on each end. The device is used to suspend the dumbbell from a hook mounted at the top of a vertically extending post. The device includes two parallel elongated arm members that have each first and second sends with a connecting member mounted at one end of each. This connecting member is received by a hook at the uppermost end of a vertically extending post. The second ends form bays that receive the bar of the dumbbell, and a locking assembly is provided to keep the bar in place.
Abstract: A pet food bowl that includes a protection against small crawling insects to prevent the latter from reaching the food contained therein. The bowl has a container assembly and a protective removable annular cover that can be readily mounted over the water channel formed in said bowl. The design is particularly helpful for cleaning the bowl and having access to all of its parts. The lower peripheral wall extends outwardly at an angle to improve the structural stability of the bowl and preventing accidentally tipping it over. The cover includes a slanted wall that matches the inclination of the upper wall so that it can be aligned and frictionally locked in place, if needed. The water channel that prevents the small insects from crossing to the area where the food is has sufficiently large dimensions to prevent the average insect from reaching it. The opening between the cover and the channel is sufficiently small to prevent the pet from drinking the water.

Abstract: There is provided a device for applying an elongated tubular condom to a male sex organ. The device has a body with lateral walls that define an annular inlet portion which forms an inlet mouth, an annular outlet portion which forms an outlet mouth, and a portion adjacent the annular outlet portion. The outlet and adjacent portions have respective diameters which permit the condom to be mounted on the body with a portion of the condom stretched over the outlet mouth and with a rolled portion of the condom in contact with the adjacent portion. The lateral walls of the body taper from the outlet portion to the adjacent portion so that, in use, the body can maintain the condom mounted thereon while permitting the rolled portion to unroll in contacting relation with the adjacent portion. The body has a cross section which is curvilinear. The device also has means to facilitate handling hereof.
