Abstract: An apparatus for lifting and transporting toilets with a wheeled C-shape assembly that has a hoist assembly mounted thereon. The hoist assembly includes a ratcheted spool assembly with an off-centered axle and a central axle that, when they rotate, take in a strap simultaneously from both ends. The strap ends are releasably attached to two separate attachment points in a toilet. One of the attachment points utilizes the openings typically found in the rear portion of a toilet where the toilet seat assembly is typically fastened. The other point uses the inwardly recessed rim found in conventional toilets.
Abstract: An underreamer with pressurized water activated lateral cutters pivotally mounted thereon and being spring biased to urge them in longitudinal alignment with the underreamer. A removable constrictor socket is cooperatively mounted adjacent to the distal end of the piston rod so that a user can select one of several designs depending on the magnitude of drill fluid pressure to be applied on the bottom of the well. The lower end of the underreamer is provided with several contiguous cutting teeth arranged in a circle with a relatively small separation inbetween so that it may continue to work even if the well collapses. The cutting teeth enhance the turbulence of the drill fluid. The underreamer is lubricated with drilling fluid applied up to a predetermined pressure without opening the lateral cutters. After a given predetermined amount of pressure, the lateral cutters open perpendicularly.
Abstract: A system for detecting cargo movement inside a cargo compartment of a craft, such as a plane or vehicle. The cargo is mounted on pallets that in turn are transported within the cargo compartment on rails end kept in place by latch assemblies. An arm assembly is mounted to a fixed convenient location inside the compartment at its distal end attached to a suitable position on the cargo being monitored. At least two parallel arms are pivotally mounted to the fixed position at the distal end. One of the arms to pivotally mounted indirectly through plate members. The plate member pivotally mounted to the fixed end includes a magnetic element that moves in physical proximity to a magnetic field sensor. If the separation exceeds a predetermined magnitude, the sensor generates an output signal that is transmitted to the pilot or driver for the necessary measures to be taken.
Abstract: A seat assembly that includes two symmetrical elongated seat sections having each an upperside, an underside with two ends. One of the ends of each of the seat sections are pivotally mounted to a pivoting axle that is transversally disposed. The seat sections are adjacent to each other. A reciprocating mechanism is mounted to the seat assembly at a distance from the underside and causes the sections to move in reciprocal opposite directions. The projection of a user's spine is substantially aligned with pivoting axle. When a user applies his/her weight on one of the pedals, some of this weight is exerted on the distal end which is turn causes the other section to lift the other leg, thus alleviating a user's fatigue.
Abstract: A protector device for hardware latch members used in conventional containers and trailers to secure in place the pivoting locking bar members. The device includes a housing having a substantially rectangular cross-section defined by side walls, a top wall and a bottom wall. Hingedly mounted tabs extending outwardly from the inner edge of the side walls are foldable within the housing and secured on the hardware latch members of the door being protected. The distal ends of the latch members include openings though which a conventional protective seal member is passed. Upper and lower concave members join the walls' outer edges and they are separated defining aperture inbetween. In front of the aperture a convex wall is mounted to the outer edges of the side walls and cutouts on the upper and lower walls permit a protective seal member through. The latch members are completely covered and protected.
Abstract: A portable toilet that can be used as a stand alone device or in conjunction with existing toilet facilities. A substantially rectangular seat housing is provided with a pivotally mounted cover member that also acts as a back rest preventing the user, typically a small child, to come in contact with the fixture. A cooperatively positioned opening receives a flanged tubular member trapping a bag for receiving a user's excrements. A pivotally mounted ring secures the tubular member in place. Two pivotally mounted leg assemblies extend outwardly and can be selectively distended 180 degrees resting on the rim of the toilet furniture. When folded inwardly, the leg assemblies are kept in place with a pressure sensitive lock assembly such as hook and loop-type fasteners.
Abstract: A portable and self-contained device for generating melodies. The electronics and battery are contained within an ergonometrically designed housing. Five switches assemblies are also housed therein with the switch actuators protruding out from the housing and being cooperatively positioned to permit a user to readily actuate them to generate one of up to 32 possible combinations that correspond to the musical notes of at least two octaves. A speaker is also housed inside the housing.
Abstract: A coupling system for transferring granular contents from a container to a pump dispenser with minimum risk of direct contact with a user. The coupling system includes a connecting threaded assembly that is frictionally and snugly mounted inside the neck of the container. The upper wall of the connecting threaded assembly includes at least one off-centered opening. A cap assembly is rotatably and coaxially mounted over the connecting threaded assembly and the former also includes at least one off-centered opening that is selectively made to coincide with the off-centered opening of the connecting threaded assembly. A spring is used to bias these two assemblies to make the respective off-centered openings not to coincide. A coupling ring assembly is firmly mounted inside the neck of a pump dispenser. The cap assembly engages the coupling ring assembly with at least one of its protuberances that extend radially outwardly into the L-shape slots on the internal surface of the coupling ring assembly.
Abstract: An apparatus for storing vehicles in a multi-level structure defining several spaces, each one with an entrance. The vehicles are driven to a platform mounted on the upper level of an entrance supporting assembly. The platform is engaged to a carrier assembly with a longitudinal traction mechanism that brings the platform to its upper level while within platform is passed from the lower level of the carrier assembly to the lower level of the entrance supporting platform. The carrier assembly brings the vehicle, mounted on the platform housed with its upper level, in alignment with an entrance of a parking space wherein a similar procedure takes place. The vehicle and the platform with upper level is delivered to the upper level of the parking space while, simultaneously, the lower platform is retrieved and housed within the lower level of the carrier assembly ready for the next car.
Abstract: A stretcher for a canvas that includes three co-planar elongated members centrally foldable are pivotally interconnected with two horizontal elongated members. One of the elongated members has longitudinal slots along which one of the ends of each of the horizontal elongated members is sidably connected. Upper and lower canvas holders are slidably and adjustably mounted to the third elongated member, keeping the canvas rigidly in place. A supporting leg is removably and hingedly mounted to a predetermined position of the third elongated member and with a spacer member permits a user to achieve a desired inclination for the canvas being supported, when in working state. For storage or transportation, the elongated members are brought in abutting relationship with each other and the horizontal pivoting members are allowed to rotate sliding out one of their respective ends. Then, the elongated members are centrally folded and secured with straps.
Abstract: A device for cleaning a body of water by passing an elongated net having a C-shaped cross section over the surface and slightly immersed in the water. The elongated net is supported by elongated rigid members that include C-shape brackets that are cooperatively disposed therealong. A rubber band with cooperating slots is positioned over the arcuated plate of the brackets trapping the elongated net in place. An upright wheeled assembly is perpendicularly mounted to the elongated net and includes a mechanism for adjusting the vertical position of the net. The upright wheeled assembly includes a cooperatively positioned handle for imparting motion to the structure.
Abstract: A mat that is convertible, when folded, into a bag. The mat includes a cushioned head portion and a larger body portion. The mat has a rectangular shape with two handle loops mounted to the cushioned head portion. A strap is attached at one end to a point on the cushioned head portion. To fold the mat, the first fold is longitudinally and the lateral edges of the cushioned head portion. The next step is to centrally fold the body portion in half thus defining the bottom for the internal cavity of the bag being formed. Next the corners of the folded body portion are folded again defining a triangle. Then, the pointed end of the triangle is brought against the cushioned head portion and the strap is passed around the folded body portion and fastened to it.
Abstract: An improvement for a toilet furniture that includes a seat and a cover hingedly mounted thereon. A latching mechanism housed within the underside of the cover and in cooperative alignment with the inner rim of the seat opening from its underside. A latch member engages the cover and seat assembly when both are in the horizontal position while releasing them when in the vertical position. The latch member includes a J-shape member that is cammingly pushed inwardly when the cover is brought to a substantially horizontal position. Once the end of the J-shape member clears the inner rim, it engages the toilet seat and the only way the cover can be raised is by bringing along the toilet seat.
Abstract: A security locking and reinforcement device to be used with doors, such as residential door and roll-up doors of the type that includes a plurality of horizontal slots defined by adjacent joined horizontal members, wherein the door is mounted within a substantially rectangular opening in a wall, and comprising a supporting plate assembly having a hanging plate removably mounted to the wall adjacent to the door; an elongated plate assembly hingedly mounted to the supporting plate assembly and having inner and outer surfaces. A security locking and reinforcement device also includes an assembly for locking the elongated plate assembly to the supporting plate assembly when the former is brought against the latter, and further including an assembly, such as a threaded rod, to engage the commonly found slots in commercial roll-up doors so that the door is kept locked in place which simultaneously enhancing its structural integrity of the roll-up door.
Abstract: A locking cover for a dead bolt lock assembly that permits a user to put it in one of three positions: neutral, locked and unlocked. The cover in the neutral position permits the operation of the bolt lock assembly normally. The other positions limit the rotational travel of the actuating shaft to one quarter of a turn. The actuating shaft is rotated by turning the locking cover that includes a central tubular cylinder that for selective engagement with the actuating shaft. A pin mounted on the interior of the cover is receivable within one of three holes on an annular base plate that limit the rotation of the actuating shaft. An annular base plate with a through opening includes a perpendicularly disposed tubular member that has an inwardly extending flange that together with an annular plug and a retainer ring keep in place a spring member biasing the cover towards the annular base plate assembly.
Abstract: A universal protector for remote control devices that includes a slotted elongated tubular member conformed in biting arrangement to the periphery of the devices. The universal protector can be readily adapted to practically all types of remote control devices, and by selecting a polyethylene material there is no need to take into consideration the path of the electromagnetic signal used to control the cooperating electronic equipment.
