  • Patent number: 6901944
Abstract: There is an apparatus for regulating air flow into a rim mounted pneumatic vehicle tire. The apparatus has an elongated valve housing 1 with an inlet end 1A, an outlet end 2 and a central portion between the outlet and inlet. The outlet end includes a rim insertion portion 3 configured to fit into an aperture in the tire rim. There is a pistion 8 disposed within the housing. The piston includes a valve member 19. A coil spring 22 acts between the housing and piston so that in use of the apparatus the piston is biased to a open position for passage of air into the tire and is movable against the spring bias under air pressure build-up in the tire to a closed position at which the valve member seals against a valve seat. The spring acts in tension and the piston and spring are located in the central portion of the housing clear of the rim insertion portion. The rim insertion portion is of a reduced size not obstructive to the mounting of the tire.

  • Patent number: 6896031
Abstract: A closed system and method that includes a source of pressurizeable molten lead connected to a mold having a mold cavity therein with the mold maintainable at sufficiently low temperature so that a charge of molten lead located in the mold cavity solidifies to thereby form a solidified casting in the mold cavity. A housing having a runner, is maintainable at sufficiently high temperature to maintain the molten lead in a molten state so that the mold cavity can be refilled with a fresh charge molten lead when a solidified casting is removed therefrom without introducing air to the closed system. A shut-off valve, having an open position to allow a charge of molten lead to flow into the mold cavity and a closed position to prevent molten lead from flowing out of the runner as the molten lead in mold cavity solidifies with the shut-off valve configurable to intensify the pressure of the lead in the mold cavity.

  • Patent number: 6878880
Abstract: An on-the-go twist-on wire connector for enhancing the current carrying capacity of the electrical wires contained therein with the housing having a closed end and an open end with a wire engaging coil located in the closed end of the housing for bringing a plurality of wires into surface-to-surface contact to provide a direct surface-to-surface electrical path for flow of electrical energy therebetween. Located in the twist-on wire connector is a wire adhereable electrically conducting medium the adhereable electrical conducting medium is conformable around the plurality of wires as the plurality of wires are brought into surface-to-surface engagement with the conformable electrical conducting medium thereby forming an indirect current path between the ends of the plurality of wires while retaining the on-the-go ability of the twist-on wire connector to form the electrical connection solely through twisting action.

  • Patent number: 6877811
Abstract: A boat seat is rotatably supported on a hollow, tubular, deck-mounted support post or column by a yoke or spider. A radially movable locking plate is biased by a spring member to rotatably lock the yoke in place and a lever arm can be operated to move the locking plate in opposition to the force of the spring member out of locking engagement to permit the seat to be rotatably adjusted.

  • Patent number: 6866087
Abstract: An apparatus and method for pressure casting a battery part wherein an extendible piston includes sidewalls for shutting off the supply of molten lead and an impact surface that extends in a side-to-side condition to form an end surface of a battery part cavity so that when the extendible piston is brought into an intensifying condition the extendible piston shuts off further supply of molten metal while a heat source maintains the lead in a molten state as the impact surface of the piston forms a side-to-side mold cavity surface to complete the mold cavity surface thereby eliminating unevenness in the surface of the finished battery part by generating a force with the extendible piston which is sufficient to form a battery part so that upon removal from the mold the batter part is substantially free of tears and cracks as well as surface irregularities.
