  • Patent number: 4954154
Abstract: Methylene diurea, either alone or as a component of methylene urea polymers acts as a gelling agent for producing a gel composition capable of suspending particles which are insoluble in a liquid medium. Methylene diurea as the gelling agent in a liquid medium can be used to obtain novel gel compositions in the absence of added thickener-suspending agents. The methylene diurea is present in an amount greater than the solubility limit of methylene diurea in the liquid medium and in an amount sufficient to provide a gel for suspending insoluble particles. The process for producing the gel composition includes subjecting a dry methylene urea composition in particulate form to a shearing action in a liquid medium wherein the methylene urea includes an amount of methylene diurea greater than the solubility limit of methylene diurea in the liquid medium.

  • Patent number: 4869559
Abstract: In a brake-slip-controlled automotive vehicle brake system, a pedal-operated master cylinder is provided which applies hydraulic fluid to the wheel brake circuits via at least one braking pressure modulator and via one electromagnetically operated closing valve at a time. The pressure modulator comprises a volume receiver and a pneumatic piston-and-cylinder arrangement acting on the volume receiver and connected with a vacuum source and a pressure source via a change-over valve actuated by a brake slip control circuit. Inserted into each hydraulic line between the master cylinder and the pressure modulator is an electromagnetically operated pilot valve having a normal operating position and a suction position. A traction slip control circuit switches the pilot valves over upon the occurrence of traction slip and ensures that the pressure modulator is reversed to the direction of increasing volume admission.

  • Patent number: 4850825
Abstract: A radial piston pump with at least one pair of pistons which alternately perform working strokes and are arranged in a stationary cylinder block with working chambers comprising inlet valves and outlet valves. An eccentric shaft controls the radial movement of the pistons and an annular device connects the radially outward end portions of the pistons. To avoid friction between eccentric and pistons, provisions are made that the eccentric shaft is supported outside of the cylinder block. The radially outward end portions of the pistons project radially outwardly from the cylinders and, by way of the annular device, take support on the eccentric of the eccendtric shaft. The eccentric is rotatably supported in the annular device.

  • Patent number: 4844557
Abstract: A circuit configuration for brake systems with anti-lock control and/or traction slip control is equipped with circuits for cornering identification and for generating signals characteristic of cornering. The differential speed between the wheels of one axle is measured. The speed difference signal is standardized. An error signal which is system-inherent and occurs also when driving straight ahead is generated by means of a low pass filter having a long time constant. The difference between the standardized speed difference signal and the error signal represents the cornering signal. Further, a quantity depending upon the speed of a wheel is compared with the cornering signal and checked for reasonableness. A second reasonableness check is based on the comparison and the evaluation of the cornering signals which were generated by the front axle and the rear axle irrespective of one another.

  • Patent number: 4840433
Abstract: Disclosed is a pressure control device including a housing incorporating a pressure control valve which governs a connection between a pressure-fluid inlet and a pressure-fluid outlet. Included is a deceleration-responsively movable inertia member, and control piston arranged in the housing and being slidable in dependence upon the pressure of the pressure fluid and the position of the inertia member and acting upon the pressure control valve. In order to provide for a pressure control device which is more cost-efficient and which switches precisely irrespective of the viscosity and the flow velocity of the pressure fluid, the inertia member is arranged in a chamber of the pressure control device which is substantially free from pressure fluid and the inertia member controls a valve which isolates a compartment confined by the housing and the control pisotn from the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4840435
Abstract: A hydraulic brake system in which a hydraulic line between the master brake cylinder and the wheel brake cylinders is free from hydraulic closing means. Upstream of a non-return valve in a line connecting a hydraulic pump and said hydraulic line, there is a hydraulic communication between the outlet of the hydraulic pump and an inlet of a pressure control valve which is actuatable in dependence on the volume of the working chamber, the control valve being a storage reservoir. A hydraulic branch is also provided between the master cylinder and the wheel brake cylinders, which leads to the inlet of an electromagnetic valve; the outlet of which ends in the storage reservoir. A cross-section in the hydraulic line is smaller between the hydraulic branch and the working chamber than between the closing valve and the wheel brake cylinders of the pair of wheel brake cylinders.
