    Abstract: A device for inserting or removing a plug and probe (13) which is subjected to high pressure in a process pipe or a tank. A nipple (12) is attached to the pipe (11) or the tank. The nipple can be secured by a cover (14). After removing the cover a ball valve (15) can be attached to the nipple. A hydraulic cylinder (16) is then externally connected to the ball valve. A piston in the cylinder can be connected to the probe through the ball valve. This piston can be used to pull the plug out or push it in through the ball valve. Once the plug has passed through the ball valve, the plug can be removed from the cylinder and replaced, if necessary.

    Abstract: A device for measuring the movement of a motor vehicle with a speedometer (11, 13) which produces a control signal when it is determined that the speed has exceeded a predetermined limit. A distance gauge (11, 15) is equipped with a release mechanism (14) which is activated by the control signal so that a record can be made of the distance driven only when such a control signal is received from the speedometer. The distance gauge (11, 15) is preferably equipped with a connecting device (14) which permits a stepwise or continuous increase in the weighting of distance registration following increased speed above the first, predetermined limit.

    Abstract: A floral greeting card is provided which includes two sections. A partially assembled receptacle base is provided which can be easily expanded into a rigid hollow receptacle base having a slanted or angled front face. Bottom flaps form an interlocking panel when the receptacle blank is expanded. The inside surface of the bottom portion of the receptacle is coated with a water-resistant material and a block of treated foam material is inserted in the bottom of the receptacle for holding the stems of a floral arrangement and providing nutrients to retain the freshness of the flowers. A face card having a central aperture and various designs and greetings can be attached to the tapered face of the receptacle to provide a pleasing presentation. The flowers are positioned through the opening in the face card and retained in the foam block. The face card can cover both the front and rear surfaces of the receptacle base and carry a design and greeting on one or both sides.

    Abstract: A portable dental delivery system is provided which is composed of a plurality of individual module sections. The portable delivery system provides all basic tools and accessories which are necessary for a dentist to perform all types of dental work which may be required by patients. The dental delivery system includes a quiet running, pressurized clean air supply system for operating the various tools and accessories utilized by the dentist. A hermetically enclosed refrigeration compressor unit is modified to provide an adequate supply of pressurized air in an extremely quiet manner. The temperature of the compressor unit is maintained at a safe level by an oil cooling system. A pump draws oil from the base of the compressor unit, passes it through a radiator which is additionally cooled by an axial fan. The oil is returned to the compressor unit at the top of the housing at a location which will cause the oil to impinge directly upon the cylinder head of the compressor.

    Abstract: A process for printing a two-sided visual display for attachment to a window, screen or object is provided which can be identically viewed from either side of the support surface. The carrier sheet is of the electrostatic adhesion type which clings to the support surface without glue or other adhesives. The display is formed by being printed on one side of the flexible transparent carrier sheet with quick drying inks having the final desired color. The inks are applied directly to the carrier sheet without overlap or underlayment. Each color segment can be overprinted in order to emphasize and enhance the color of the individual sections. A cover sheet can be applied to the display to facilitate handling and storage. The final product when in place can be visibly observed from either side with equal clarity and appearance.

    Abstract: A flow meter for determining the flow rate of a liquid or slurry flowing in a pipeline or similar conduit. The flow meter is capable of metering the flow of a multiple-phase medium such as a gas-oil combination from a sub sea oil well. The meter includes a tube-like J-bend member which is connected to the pipeline by a non-restricting, ring-type universal joint. The J-bend member is usually arranged with the member arranged in a horizontal plane with the member supported or suspended by a pair of load cells which are arranged 90.degree. apart and measure the reaction forces in a vertical and horizontal plane passing through the center of gravity. In this way, the load cells measure the weight of the J-bend member as well as the reaction moment produced by the liquid flow. In another embodiment the J-bend member is supported by a pair of rollers positoned 90.degree. to each other and arranged to suspend the J-bend member.

    Abstract: A trap is provided for the extermination of rodents. A spring-loaded striker is maintained in a raised, loaded position by a release lever connectable with the striker through a projection and lug arrangement. A bottom opening is provided in the trap which receives the bait therein. The release lever is placed forwardly of the bait and in the path of movement of the rodent. The striker is mounted for arcuate movement. When a rodent engages the release lever, the striker and the release lever disengage thereby permitting the striker to rotate in an arcuate path to strike the rodent.

    Abstract: A biomedical implantable shunt is provided having an enlarged generally circular pump body and a perforated distal and proximal catheter attached to said body. The catheters are intended to have excess length so they can be cut to proper length as necessary to fit a specific patient. The pump body includes a vestibule at the outlet end directly connected to the distal catheter. A pair of one-way miter valves are provided within the pump body. The inlet valve is directly connected to the entrance provided for the proximal catheter while the outlet valve is positioned within the vestibule which is connected to the distal catheter. A longitudinal ridge is provided in the base member of the pump body with one end of the ridge positioned directly under the inlet valve to eliminate the possibility of the valve becoming sealed in the closed position during the pumping operation.

    Abstract: A disposable weather-proof safety fuse igniter is provided which includes a hollow cylindrical housing having an internally spaced sleeve provided for mounting and positioning a pull-wire type friction igniter cup. The end of the pull-wire is attached to a vent plug positioned at one end of the housing which, in turn, is attached to a finger-grip device for extracting the vent plug and pull-wire for ignition. A threaded cap is provided to cover and seal the vent plug end of the housing. The opposite end of the housing includes a compression type sealing retainer which has an internal bore for insertion of the safety fuse. A double O-ring seal can be positioned within the housing with the retainer arranged so that rotation of the cap causes the O-ring seal to be compressed against the inserted fuse.

    Abstract: A composite masonary wall structure is formed of inner and outer wall panels stacked and formed on either side of a reinforcing framework formed in a vertical aligned position. Novel cross-tie brackets are provided to secure the upper edges of each panel in proper position equidistant on either side of the reinforcing frame work and tied securely to this framwork. A hardenable or expandable bonding filler material is introduced into the cavity formed between the panels and reinforcing framework structure to bond the panels and framework securely into a homogeneous structure. The cross-tie brackets allow precise positioning of the wall panels with respect to the framework and securely ties the structure together allowing for rapid construction of a composite masonary wall.

    Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a spare tire on the exterior of a motor vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes a support base which is capable of being rigidly affixed to the frame of a motor vehicle. The support base supports a swing down spare tire mounting bracket having means for mounting the spare tire. The spare tire mounting bracket is pivotally attached to the support base so that the mounting bracket can be pivotally swung about a generally horizontal axis between a first upright vehicle operating position and a second generally horizontally disposed vehicle access position. A catch means is also disclosed for releasably locking the swing-down bracket in its first upright position. In addition, bumper means affixed to the support base are disclosed for protecting the vehicle spare tire mounting apparatus. The mounting apparatus is capable of supporting a table for holding food and drink when the mounting apparatus has been pivotally swung down to its second horizontally disposed position.

A motor mount plate is rotatably mounted on the base plate and is adapted for receiving the mounting bracket assembly of a remotely controlled electric trolling motor. The supporting arm and legs of the mount are of the telescoping type which allows an infinite amount of length adjustment to properly position the motor mount as desired either over or beyond the front edge of the boat. Slidably adjustable clamps are provided for attachment of the arms to the bow rails of the boat so that alignment and adjustment of the supporting arms can be provided.

    Abstract: A clamping apparatus for releasably securing a wheelchair to a base, such as the floor of a motor vehicle, is provided. The clamping apparatus includes a frame which is capable of being rigidly secured to the base and a movable clamp which is pivotally attached to the frame and capable of being moved between a wheelchair clamping position and a wheelchair release position. When in the clamping position, the clamp is capable of secure engagement with the wheelchair to prevent relative movement between the wheelchair and the base. When in the release position, the clamp disengages from the wheelchair, thereby permitting relative movement between the wheelchair and the base. Power driven actuating means for moving the clamp between the clamping and release positions is provided.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for remotely cancelling or reprogramming the call forwarding service provided by the telephone company on the customer/user's telephone line. A microprocessor is utilized in conjunction with external memory provisions as well as a keypad with DTMF-tone generator. The keypad and DTMF-tone generator are provided for inputting the call forwarding code data and preprogrammed telephone number into memory. A ring detector causes the microprocessor to seize the telephone line and automatically dial the preprogrammed telephone number. This allows the customer/user to answer the automatically dialed telephone call at the remote telephone location so that by inputting a proper code number into the line the user may take control of the operation of the device. At this point the preprogrammed telephone number can be cancelled or changed.

    Abstract: The shower head dispensing device simultaneously dispenses a plurality of separate liquids in pulsating simultaneous streams. The liquid streams are maintained separate within the device by the use of separate distribution chambers, channels and nozzle sections. A free-turning, tiered rotor is provided within the device. The rotor turns on frictionless bearings provided by hydraulic balancing of the liquid pressures around the rotor. The liquid flow is maintained separate within the device and rotor and provides pulsating liquid flow through the tiers of the rotor and out through outlet openings provided in the device. Angularly adjustable nozzles are proivided within the nozzle sections and adjacent to each tier of the rotor so that the pressurized liquids flowing through the nozzles will impinge upon the outer perimeter of the rotor causing the rotor to rotate as the desired speeds.
