  • Patent number: 4301712
Abstract: Device for controlling the degree of blowback delay in automatically operable weapons is provided and comprises locking means which are operable to prevent opening of the weapon breech until breech pressures have dropped to generally residual, safe levels. For use with automatically operable pistols the device takes the form of a hammerlock which locks the hammer to the slide, and for use with automatically operable long guns the device takes the form of a boltlock which locks the bolt to the receiver.

  • Patent number: 4295352
Abstract: A die for the formation of semi-closed channels or other complex configurations comprises a male die member and a female die member. The male die member includes a generally circular mandrel, and elastic, workpiece-retaining pressure means; while the female die member includes an elastically deformable matrix having an open, generally U-shaped forming groove in the upper surface thereof. In operation, the workpiece is driven by the mandrel into the forming groove, and the matrix elastically deformed by matrix deforming apparatus to substantially close the forming groove and wrap the workpiece around the mandrel to form the desired channel. The pressure device retains the workpiece in place during forming while allowing sliding movement of the workpiece to prevent damage to the latter. Following channel formation, the mandrel is withdrawn from the forming groove and the matrix returns to its un-deformed position to re-open the forming groove and enable the ready removal of the workpiece from the die.

  • Patent number: 4215498
Abstract: New and improved safety tagging device is provided which is fabricated from highly visible, durable and weather-resistant materials and which is readily and conveniently, securely attachable to and removable from power transmission and distribution circuit support structures and the like. The device is operable to protectively and conspicuously display, and call attention to, a mark-up card with instructions regarding safety prerequisites attendant the re-energization of de-energized power transmission or distribution circuit.

  • Patent number: 4167646
Abstract: New and improved vibration damper, primarily for power cables, is disclosed and comprises two damper elements having interfaces of vibrational energy absorbing materials in the nature of rubber, and two rigid absorber arm and weight assemblies pivotally connected thereto. In use, vibrational energy is transmitted from the cable by, and under the vibrational energy absorbing restraint of, the interfaces to the absorber arm and weight assemblies for damping of the same. The absorber arms are of unequal length to provide two natural frequencies for the damper, and the vibration weights are readily removable for replacement by weights of different mass to adapt the same basic vibration damper to a wide variety of applications.

  • Patent number: 4166619
Abstract: An arrowhead, spearhead, integral arrow or spear, or other projectile for hunting, with a point of efficient penetrating design and having moveable sharpened blades, pivotally mounted within a slot in the head. The arrangement provides shrouding of the functional cutting surfaces of the moveable blades when they are in a beginning, closed and positively locked position. In response to impact with and penetration into a target, the blades automatically unlock and pivot outward from the enshrouded configuration to a second position where they are fully extended and may perform their cutting function.

  • Patent number: 4081139
Abstract: A simplified, multi-carrier dispenser attachment for shower heads is provided and comprises generally circular support means which are mounted externally of the shower head and which support a spaced plurality of different water soluble substances which may be selectively positioned within the stream of water emanating from the shower head for dissolving therein. In at least one position of the support means, no water soluble substance is disposed in the shower water stream, and a number of adjustment means are provided to enable the ready adjustment in the disposition of the respective substances in the shower water stream to optimize dispensing efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4063549
Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for the determination of the Raylographic information of a body part which is ensonified by acoustical energy pulses by a particularly precisely focused acoustical focusing system to produce acoustical energy echo pulses which are detected in coherent manner. Fourier transformation of the pulses from the time to the frequency domain enables frequency domain deconvolution to provide the impulse response with minimization of mathematical instabilities and distortion of the frequency domain impulse response. Noise extraction and spatial deconvolution filtering are included to respectively maximize signal to noise ratio and minimize distortive effects of body part surface non-orthogonality and combine with the above to provide for particular stability in the overall results and attendant increase in the axial resolution of Raylographic display and in the overall resolution of body part image displays.
