  • Patent number: 5472064
Abstract: A system for providing total fluid exchange for an automatic transmission which interconnects with the transmission's opened cooling circuit to deliver new, fresh fluid to the transmission while simultaneously extracting the spent, used fluid. The system provides a means of quick and random interconnection to an opened cooling circuit and means of identifying and aligning direction of flow in such cooling circuit. The system can accurately calibrate and regulate the rate that fresh fluid will flow into the transmission to be the same as that at which the used fluid is extracted, both of which are regulated to flow at the same rate that fluid normally circulates at in the cooling circuit when it is closed under similar operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 5449209
Abstract: A portable and separable door blocking device functioning as a positive locking unit for a door to prevent its opening from the outside. The device includes an over-center locking unit with levers having members to block and lock a door by exerting forces in opposite directions. One lever includes a section positionable under a door and an upright section to abut with the side of the door. The second lever has at least one, reversible, downwardly and angularly disposed floor contacting member. When the unit is in locked, over-center position, the angularly disposed member prevents door movement and attempts to open the door will increase the holding force. The floor contacting member is adjustable to accomodate different floor-to-door gaps. A quick release is provided for emergency situations.

  • Patent number: 5404802
Abstract: A cheese formation tower wherein cheese curds and attendant whey are introduced into the upper portion of a vertical, low friction material lined, tower and the whey is extracted through gravitational, differential pressure/relative vacuum and vibration techniques. As the material reaches the lower portion of the tower the whey has been substantially extracted to provide the formed cheese product. A guillotine or cutting arrangement is provided to cut the formed cheese to suitable lengths which are then extracted from the tower. The invention is particularly directed to cheese units of various shapes and sizes but preferably smaller than the standard, 11".times.14", 40# block. The unit includes cleaning means for cleansing of the entire unit following complete batch formation. The tower ensures satisfactory whey removal and the delivery of properly formed cheeses.

  • Patent number: 5351453
Abstract: The invention of rapidly erectable housing units providing a number of properly shaped and interfitting wall sections. Beside the wall sections the units include interlocking or laid-uproofing applied to truss rafters. interlock to the erected walls. The wall sections are provided with structural base plates and headers for interlocking the walls into sturdy non-rackable condition to maintain the stability of the unit. The interfit of the wall sections may be in several forms such as matching, slotted grooves to afford sliding connection between sections and may also include mortise and tenon arrangements on the ends of sections with the tenon passing through the mortised area for the attachment of a locking element on the extending end of the tenon as well as the mortise position. The mortise and tenon arrangements, particularly at corner areas of the unit may include a plurality of interfitting elements rather than a single arrangement which will allow for more secure joining of the sections.

  • Patent number: 5333612
Abstract: A device for the rapid and complete interrogation of any portion of the body with specific attention to the breast and particularly the nipple-aerola area of the same for detection of abnormal, possibly cancerous, tissues within this normally difficult to examine area. The device includes an ultrasound transducer mounted in ultrasound conducting relationship to the area to be examined, positioned properly thereto and moved thereacross in a manner to provide a complete and systematic sweep of the area for total and rapid interrogation of the tissues within such area. The systematic sweep includes arcuate circumferential indexing of the transducer path moving radially across the breast. In this manner, the nipple-aerola area is repeatedly interrogated by each transducer travel across the breast. The transducer is also oscillated, normal to the path, as it travels along its path for cross sweep of tissue to insure total interrogation.

  • Patent number: 5330189
Abstract: A device for use with a golf club which includes a mercury switch controlled which is adjustable with respect to the shaft of the club which will emit an audible sound when the club is swung rearwardly on the backswing when the preadjusted positioning of the mercury switch is obtained. In this manner the user preadjusts the position of the mercury switch controlled circuit such that the sound will be emitted when the proper backswing height is obtained. The backswing height obviously will control the distance that the ball is driven as the player advances his club forwardly into the ball. The sensitivity of the unit allows for presetting the audible emission location to accommodate putting as well as short iron golf shots. The unit includes an electrical circuit powered through a battery source and a sound emitting element all of which are controlled through a mercury switch.
