Abstract: Excellent and durable demisting property can be imparted to the surface of the transparent materials such as glass and plastics by coating onto the surface of said transparent materials a copolymer obtained by subjecting 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate to solution polymerization and then graft-copolymerizing an allyl alcohol tribasic acid ester thereonto and then curing the copolymer by heating it. In this case, if an organo silicon nonionic surface active agent is added to said copolymer, more effective demisting property can be imparted to the surface of the transparent materials.

Abstract: In a position-correctable numerical control system for machines without any device for detecting the absolute position of an object to be controlled, a plurality of equidistantly-spaced reference marks providing standard ranges of control of the object are determined by a reference mark detection pulse generator. Reference positions corresponding to the reference marks are stored in advance in a non-volatile memory. The actual position of the object is compared with a reference position stored in said non-volatile memory, each time the object to be controlled passes each of the reference marks, so that the actual position of the object is corrected in accordance with a difference, if any, between the actual position and the reference position.

Abstract: A self-lubricated solid material comprising a metallic matrix having a lubricated surface, a plurality of circular cavities provided in the lubricating surface of the metallic matrix, a solid lubricant embedded in each of the circular cavities, and the circular cavities being disposed in the relation ofR < P < R/cos .theta., when O.degree. < .theta. .ltoreq. 45.degree., and R < P < R/sin .theta., when 45.degree. .ltoreq. .theta. < 90.degree.where R is the diameter of each of the circular cavities, P is the distance between the centers of adjacent two circular cavities and .theta. is the angle defined between a predetermined direction and the line lying on the centers of the two circular cavities.
Abstract: A reading system for a hybrid A-D converter having, in combination, code disk A-D converters for converting an analog quantity such as a rotation angle or the like into a digital quantity and a neighborhood absolute value detector such as an inductosyn, a resolver or the like for providing the absolute value of a rotation within a small range thereof to, thereby extend the neighborhood absolute value region. Each of the code disk A-D converters supplies an output signal l and a carry signal Cr(1) which is generated depending on whether an output signal from a lower order code disk A-D converter is included in a predetermined upper group to a corresponding one of the logical circuits which are provided so as to correspond in number to the code-disk A-D converters. The logical circuit performing the logical operation L = l .multidot. (Cr.multidot.l-1+Cr.multidot.l+1) provides a signal representative of one digit whereby the outputs from the A-D converters are prevented from errors upon carrying.
Abstract: A process for the recovery of lead from battery scraps by mixing the lead raps at elevated temperature with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal chloride and hydrochloric acid in order to dissolve, in the form of lead chloride, the lead compounds present in the lead scraps, separating an aqueous solution of this lead chloride from insoluble hard lead, which is recovered, crystallizing lead chloride from the cooling aqueous solution, which is separated from the lead chloride crystals, and finally subjecting the obtained lead chloride to electrolysis for the recovery of metallic lead.

Abstract: A means of damping cyclic fuel injection pressure drop in a constant-stroke, variable delivery flow rate injection jerk-pump for an internal combustion engine, consisting in slowing down fuel pressure drop at the end of every injection cycle by increasing the added pressure head losses of fuel backflow by a reduction of the free passageway cross-sections through which the fuel flows successively on its return path from the pump working chamber to the spill port.
Abstract: A golf ball having improved flight characteristics having a spherical surface with 252 depressions therein. 240 of the depressions are in the shape of inverted pyramids with hexagonal bases and 12 of the depressions are in the shape of inverted pyramids with pentagonal bases. The ball has two poles and an equator, and the pentgonal bases serve as the two poles and as the vertices of similar equilateral spherical triangles into which the surface of the ball may be divided.

Abstract: A salt-containing unprocessed foodstuff is charged in a wrapping tube unit comprising a cylindrical body, end plate means comprising members bonded to open opposite ends of the cylindrical body, and a pair of electrical contact members previously impregnated with a salt solution and fitted in the end plate means to provide a wrapped material foodstuff. The end plate means may be of any shape and is formed with a multitude of apertures, at least one of the members having cuts made therein to permit charging of the unprocessed foodstuff in the cylindrical body which may be deformed to conform to the shape of the end plate means.
Abstract: A system for controlling the operation of a numerically controlled machine tool used for cutting threads on workpieces, in which means are provided so that the quality of the products may not be adversely affected even when the thread cutting operation is interrupted for some reasons incidental to the thread cutting.
Abstract: A lathe on which the tool post is swiveled and indexed about a vertical axis and the workpiece is machined with a turning or rotary tool. The headstock is slidable upward and downward, and the work portions off the axis of the spindle can also be machined with the rotary tool. Once the workpiece is set in position, it can be subjected to a variety of machining operations on a number of surfaces.
Abstract: A rail clip for securing a rail to a tie wherein there is a shoulder upstanding from the tie having an aperture extending through it in a longitudinal direction, the shoulder containing a pin of general U-shape which bears downwardly intermediate the ends of a resilient plate-like clip which in turn bears downwardly against the rail foot and the tie.
Abstract: A power unit, energizable by solar heat, having a thermodynamic system including an evaporator, vapor pressure actuated motor, pump and condenser, the motor being arranged to operate upon evaporation of fluid in the evaporator, which is subsequently condensed and pumped back into the evaporator. The vapor pressure actuated motor is coupled to a hydraulic pump which in turn drives a hydraulic motor. The fluid in the thermodynamic circuit is a low temperature boiling fluid, preferably a fluoro carbon refrigerant, so that use can be made of "low grade" heat.

Abstract: A roll type huller including a housing, a pair of hulling rolls parallelly spaced apart within the housing, a main shaft carrying one of the rolls and supported by the housing rotatably about a fixed axis, and a counter shaft carrying the other roll and supported near the free end of an arm mounted at the base by a pivot which is spaced from, and parallel with, the fixed axis, so that the counter shaft can move toward and away from the main shaft while maintaining the parallelism. The pivot is supported by the housing in a relative position opposite to the roll-carrying portion of the counter shaft. The location of the pivot may be inside the housing beneath the counter shaft or outside of the housing above the shaft or elsewhere provided the aforesaid relationship with the shaft is maintained.
Abstract: A support system for use in partition walling and in supporting shelving and other elements. The system comprises an elongated post having a core, a face structure comprising a pair of spaced webs, each extending longitudinally of the post and delineating a longitudinally extending slot and sections joining the webs to the core and defining a space between the webs and the core. An elongated strip is a push fit within part of the space between the webs and the core, the strip having a part through which a series of longitudinally spaced locating holes are formed. The strip is shaped so that when fitted within said space said part lies behind said slot substantially parallel to the webs of the post and there is space left between said part and the core. This space may receive tabs on the ends of brackets shaped to interlock with the locating holes in the strip.
Abstract: A grinding wheel dressing device is mounted, together with a grinding wheel head, on the cut feed carriage, and the grinding wheel head, the grinding wheel dressing device and a direct sizing device which form a group are arranged in a manner to move in the axial direction of the spindle with respect to the head stock, whereby grinding of the inner peripheral surface of a workpiece can be effected.
