  • Patent number: 7260773
Abstract: Two documents are processed to facilitate visual mapping and comparison. These documents comprise document subsections and the subsections comprise document subsection headers associated therewith. At least one of the first document subsection headers is juxtaposed relative to an output of second document subsection headers mapping thereto, to visually emphasize a header mapping. This header mapping is established by: mapping the first document subsections relative to the second document subsections based on identifying substantial similarities therebetween, to establish a subsection mapping therebetween; and, in relation to the subsection mapping and the association between the document subsections and the subsection headers, further mapping the first document subsection headers relative to the second document subsection headers.

  • Patent number: 7253349
Abstract: A 2 manual musical keyboard with the pitch progression on one of the manuals reversed. The keys on these manuals are segregated into 2 groups of 2 different heights in the same way as a standard musical keyboard. The key configurations on these manuals have 12 semi-tones linearly distributed across 12 keys of alternating heights. Instead of the traditional 7 lower keys (white) and 5 upper keys (black), this arrangement has 6 lower keys and 6 upper keys. The notation system for this unique keyboard is a dual character set. Six unique characters for the upper keys and six unique characters for the lower keys. The musical staff for this unique keyboard will have six lines assigned to one character set and the six spaces assigned to the other character set.

  • Patent number: 7194204
Abstract: A telescopic firearm scope/sight which is fully integrated with a compact digital camera, and which has size, shape and weight characteristics that are substantially the same as those of a conventional, camera-less telescopic scope, is used to photograph a target proximate the instant at which the target is fired upon. To configure the weapon for photography and firing, the scope is simply placed on the firearm in the same manner as a conventional scope, and the firearm is then fired in the conventional manner. Photographs are recorded, alternatively, in response to the sound of, or the recoil from, the firearm firing. An alternative embodiment eliminates the telescopic sight, but maintains all of the digital photography components, and is particularly useful for smaller-scale firearms such as pistols.

  • Patent number: 6809249
Abstract: Ultrasonic transducing elements (11, 12) are used to measure vibrations of a nearby musical drumhead or other vibrating surface (13). A first ultrasonic transducer (11) emits an ultrasonic signal (14) and a second ultrasonic transducer (12) listens for an echo of that signal (14). A phase change of the echoed (reflected) signal (202) is compared to a reference signal (206) to create a representation signal (216) which represents the movement of the drumhead or other vibrating surface (13). For this comparison to be properly made, a deviation signal (220) is generated that defines an average deviation of the reference signal (206) from optimum, which is then used to self-align the reference signal (206) to the reflected signal (202).

  • Patent number: 6794067
Abstract: For a direct oxidation fuel cell system in which the source fuel is diluted with a diluting fluid prior to entering the fuel cell generally, and for a Direct Methanol Fuel Cell System (DMFC) in which the methanol source fuel is diluted with water, the dielectric constant of the fuel mix comprising the source fuel and the diluting fluid is measured to determine the relative proportions of source fuel and diluting fluid within this fuel mix. This measurement may then be used in a feedback loop to control the subsequent mixing of the source fuel with the diluting fluid, and in particular, to adjust the mix in the event the fuel mix is too rich or too dilute as compared to a desired mixing proportion. Additionally, a second dielectric constant measurement is used to determine the source fuel level of a fuel tank providing source fuel to the fuel cell. Finally, an optional telecommunications link is used to automatically order a source fuel refill when the source fuel runs low.

  • Patent number: 6732445
Abstract: A pipe fitting method and apparatus for taking simultaneous linear and angular measurements is used for pipefitting. A first pipe joint fitting of a pipe fitting apparatus herein disclosed is attached to a first pipe joint, a second pipe joint fitting of the pipe fitting apparatus is attached to a second pipe joint, and the first pipe joint is attached to a first unconnected end of a first pipe-to-be-joined. Then, the pipe fitting apparatus is extended to an extended length thereof, while an angle measuring device of the pipe fitting apparatus simultaneously maintains an angular reading at a preselected joinder angle, until a top open end of the second pipe joint aligns with a second pipe-to-be-joined at an alignment line. Next, it is determined where to cut the second pipe-to-be-joined with reference to the alignment line. Finally, it is determined how long to cut a third connecting pipe with reference to the extended length of the pipe fitting apparatus.
