    Abstract: The present invention relates to an uplink control channel configuration in a mobile wideband wireless access system, and an allocation method thereof. An uplink control channel includes a long cyclic prefix used to improve interference and distortion caused by multipath transmission characteristics of an initial ranging or handover ranging signal and a periodic ranging or band request ranging signal. In addition, a short orthogonal frequency division multiple (OFDM) symbol is used to transmit uplink control information when one terminal exists or the number of terminals is small.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a channel state transmission method using time domain coefficient quantization. A terminal measures channel information in the time domain and transmits it to a base station. In this instance, a multipath frequency selective fading channel is displayed in a tapped delay line format configured with a per-path path delay value and a path gain in the time domain, differentiates a quantization level for each path gain for more efficient transmission, quantizes the same, and transmits it to a transmitter. Therefore, while the amount of bandwidths required for transmitting state information from the terminal to the base station is reduced, the base station can efficiently acquire channel state information on the entire bandwidths. Also, the base station transmits signals to many terminals through beamforming by using the acquired reliable channel state information, thereby increasing the terminal's signal receiving performance.

Then, in regards to a radio resource that is allocated in a current frame, a localized RB and a distributed RB are classified and represented. As for the localized RB, allocation information is represented in an index pattern method, and as for the distributed RB, resource allocation information is represented in a toggle pattern method.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a femtocell search method for a handover from a macrocell to a femtocell. The present invention relates to a method for a terminal that accesses a macrocell to search a femtocell in an environment where a plurality of femtocells are overlapped in one macrocell. The terminal searches a femtocell by using a dummy preamble in order to minimize the size of neighbor cell lists broadcasted from the macrocell to the terminal. Therefore, according to the present invention, an MAC overhead can be minimized by eliminating neighbor femtocell lists in a mobile neighbor advertisement (MOB_NBR_ADV) message broadcasted from the macrocell, and the terminal can search a femtocell with a minimum scanning load by checking only a femtocell dummy preamble in a dedicated symbol of the macrocell.
