Abstract: A cooked food staging device and method is provided. The cooked food staging device allows previously cooked food items, particularly sandwich fillings such as hamburger patties, fish fillets, biscuits, Canadian bacon, pork sausage, eggs, chicken patties, chicken fillets and nuggets, to be stored over extended periods of time at an elevated temperature without significant deleterious effects to the appearance, taste and texture of the food while avoiding risk of bacterial contamination. The food staging device is composed of a plurality of discrete compartments bounded by upper and lower heated compartment surfaces. Food can be stored within the compartments in trays having side walls of a height such that a gap is achieved between the top of the tray and the upper compartment heated surface to limit and control the evaporation of liquid from the food stored therein.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for adjusting the accuracy of an electronic timepiece that includes an oscillator with a 2.sup.n frequency output, means for reducing the oscillator output frequency to a time keeping frequency, means for counting the time keeping frequency, and means for displaying the time corresponding to the count of the time keeping frequency. The timepiece is initially synchronized with a time standard. After a period of time has elapsed, the timepiece is resynchronized with a time standard and the error E accumulated by the timepiece since the previous synchronization is calculated. The accumulated error, E, is divided by the number of adjustment intervals elapsed since the previous synchronizing of the timepiece, N, to obtain an accuracy adjustment factor. Then, at a specified time interval during each subsequent adjustment interval, the timekeeping frequency is adjusted by the amount of the accuracy adjustment factor to produce a resultant adjustment interval which equals an ideal time period.
Abstract: A data processing system capable of simultaneously processing a plurality of partial purge requests stored in a purge address stack and of reducing the effective time necessary for carrying out a partial purge process for the partial purging of an address translation lookaside buffer is disclosed. The data processing system comprises a purge address stack (106) having a plurality of registers (106a to 106d) for storing a plurality of partial purge requests, a plurality of comparators (109a to 109d) associated with the registers of the purge address stack respectively and functioning for both gaining normal access to an address translation lookaside buffer and carrying out a partial purge process, and a comparator (110) to be used when an address translator (107) operates.
Abstract: A die has four faces in the shape of isosceles triangles. The die uses an efficient amount of material and can be read without the player having to pick up the die. Each face of the die has placed thereon an indicium corresponding to only a single face. The die provides an equal chance for each of the four faces to be selected.
Abstract: The present invention comprises a method for injecting a heavier payload into orbit than is possible using a traditional method and the same rocket booster launch vehicle. The method of the present invention does not utilize a parking orbit and does not perform orbital injection at perigee or apogee of the desired orbit. Rather, in the present method the flight path angle is positive at the final lower stage booster burn so as to boost the perigee kick motor and payload into a suborbital trajectory having a low perigee, which may be below the surface of the Earth. In the preferred embodiment, the launch vehicle maintains a negative flight path angle during the PKM burn. The PKM burn does not occur at perigee, but perigee is at the desired location when the PKM burn is complete. Use of this method increases the payload capacity of some launch vehicles by up to fifty percent (50%).
Abstract: A flexible feed line is provided for use with a selectively deployable antenna system. The feed line is resilient and expandable so that it can maintain connections within antenna feed circuits while the antenna is being deformed or moved for stowage. An antenna system for use with the feed lines of the present invention may consist of a deployable quadrifilar helical antenna elements having four resilient conductive strips bonded thereto. Flexible feed lines are attached to each of the conductive helical strips. The feed lines expand to accommodate the shape of the antenna elements when compressed for stowing and return to their operating shape when deployed, thus providing identical feed paths to each of the antenna conductors when the antenna system is deployed.
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for printing on a water soluble film for use in-line on a packaging machine. Typically, the packaging machine will form a web from a roll of water soluble film and transport the film web toward a forming, filling and sealing station where the web is formed into the shape of a container, filled with a substance and sealed to form a water soluble container. A printer in accordance with the present invention can be mounted to the packaging machine for printing on the film web while the packaging machine has temporarily halted transportation of the web. The printer includes a printing head with an engraved face which is applied to the film web by a suitable actuating device. Ink is supplied to the engraved face by pressing the printing head against an ink-absorbent pad. The actuating device includes a mechanism for rotating the printing head 180.degree.

Abstract: A wireless network is provided for restricting the number of mobile terminal devices which are managed by the base station device for wireless communication with one another. The base station device has a mobile terminal confirming database for registering mobile terminal devices allowed to be subscribers to the wireless network, and a mobile terminal managing database for registering presently-managed mobile terminal devices. The wireless transfer request from one of the mobile terminal devices is tested to determine whether the request-issuing mobile terminal device is one of the subscribers. If the request is accepted, then the identification of the request-issuing mobile terminal device is registered into the managing database.
Abstract: A remedial wall anchor system includes a reinforcing rod or wire, a tie rod, anchor components which secure the tie rod to the facade wall and the back-up wall, and a capturing device. The tie rod extends between the facade and back-up walls and is insertable through a hole extending through the facade wall. The capturing device is secured to the front end of the tie rod and includes first and second spaced-apart upstanding surfaces joined by a linking member to form a channel for capturing a portion of the reinforcing wire. The remedial anchor system can be used both mechanical and adhesive facade anchors and back-up anchors. The remedial anchor wall system is easily and economically used to reconnect an existing facade wall to a back-up wall. Initially, the user forms a horizontal groove in a mortar bedjoint of the facade wall. Then, a hole is drilled into the grooved mortar line so that the hole is connected to the groove and extends through the facade wall.

Abstract: A combination fence and table for use with a power tool provides means for rotating a plate from a table position to a fence position. The plate also is tiltable with respect to the base of the apparatus. The edge of the plate closest to the power tool remains at a substantially constant distance from the power tool throughout the range of angles that the plate is tilted. When used in the fence position, the plate is movable linearly across the width of the power tool.
Abstract: A gaming machine has a plurality of symbol-bearing reels which are rotated to place the symbols in visual association with a win line. When the reels are brought to a halt, at least one symbol from each reel is associated with the win line. However, the win line has at least two indicating portions so that on one of the reels, two symbols are associated with the win line. Thus, a displayed game outcome includes at least one symbol from each of the reels and two symbols from one of the reels.
Abstract: When a processor generates an access request to a plurality of continuous addresses to an RAM through a memory control apparatus, in order to enable a high speed process, a register which holds an address for accessing a memory cell and a register which holds an address for accessing a data buffer are separately provided in an RAM having memory cells and a plurality of row correspondence data buffers of the memory cells.
