  • Patent number: 5024015
Abstract: A portable advertisement display utilizing a plurality of lightweight panels pivotally interconnected by hinges. The panels themselves are constructed of a polystyrene core located intermediate two rigid pressboard panels. Such material is very lightweight but will not accommodate direct connection of hinges. A channel member is secured to selected lateral edges of each panel to provide a stable base on which to connect the hinges. Each panel is sheathed in fabric characteristic of the looped facing of hook-and-loop adhesive material. The panels may be detachably connected in vertical orientation of one another by magnetic strips located on the upper and lower marginal edge of each panel. Advertisement items such as signs or placards are attached to the present invention with strips of fabric characteristic of the hooked portion of hook-and-loop adhesive material.

  • Patent number: 5021057
Abstract: An instrument to be used during ocular surgery for the rapid closure of anterior segment openings and the control of expulsive choroidal hemorrhage and the resulting damage caused by this complication. The instrument is to be positioned over the anterior ocular surface of the eye at the first indication of hemorrhage or "posterior pressure". One or more dimples located on the upper surface of the instrument allows the insertion of a elongated member for holding the instrument in place while maintaining the intraocular pressure. An opening is also present which allows a surgeon to insert sutures into the underlying eye while the instrument is in place and also aids in the movement of the instrument about the anterior ocular surface of the eye by insertion of a probe or forceps. The instrument is transparent, allowing the surgeon to visually monitor the intraocular events.

  • Patent number: 5015023
Abstract: An automatic, lockable, and releasable range-taking cable connection for use in pole line application utilizes a pair of spring loaded gripper elements movable on inclined planar surfaces within a housing, with the gripper elements connected to a retractor mechanism that translates rotational motion of a retractor into axial movement of the grippers to release the same from the cable. A rotatable locking sleeve or cap is used to secure the gripper elements in locked position when in normal use.

  • Patent number: 5009885
Abstract: A method by which a mucoprotectant gelatin which forms a protective coating on the mucous membranes of the mouth is provided for use with active ingredients for treating the teeth. The active ingredient may be an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution or fluoride. When hydrogen peroxide is used as a bleaching agent the mucoprotectant prevents the caustic bleaching agent from damaging the gums. The bleaching agent and the mucoprotectant are stored in separate containers and are custom mixed by a supervising dentist and given to the patient in a dispenser so that the resulting slurry may be used in a personalized vacuformed mouthpiece. The treatment may last from several minutes to several hours.

  • Patent number: 4999881
Abstract: A condensate control apparatus for receiving drum type condenser units utilized in cotton ginning which eliminates moisture buildup on predetermined metal surfaces within the condenser unit by heating such surfaces with heated dry air emanating from a heat source and conducted to such surfaces through a series of heating ducts. The condensate control apparatus also compacts the cotton gin fiber collected by such condensers into batts wherein the compacting force utilized in combination with moisturized air integrated within the cotton is sufficient to overcome the cottons inherent resiliency thereby permanently reducing the volume per unit weight of such cotton batts.
