    Abstract: Apparatus for closing and gluing containers which are of the type assembled from two pieces including a slotted tray with an outer sleeve which telescopes over the assembled tray and which has top flaps foldable into position as the top of the container. The tray is assembled and the sleeve is placed thereon prior to filling and the filled container is then directed into the apparatus which raises the outer sleeve to allow adhesive to be applied to the tray and at the same time allow the flaps to be glued and folded into position, the outer sleeve subsequently being pressed into position and held in that configuration until the adhesive can set, the finished container having adhesive holding the sleeve to the tray and the outer closure flaps sealed.

A conventional four panel end closure is provided with an outer panel covering the entire surface of the end of the carton, with two first-folded minor flaps having film attached thereto so that in the final folded position an aperture results, with the overlapping film covering that aperture from below. An overwrap is provided which is glued on the bottom side of the carton and attached to the top side to a removable panel formed as a part of the top flap and removable to expose the entire aperture.

    Abstract: A novel package for containing and dispensing moistened tissues which are arranged in a folded stacked array, including a film wrapper surrounding the stack of tissues and sealed on the ends with a longitudinal overlap of the edges on the top of the stack which allows access for removal of the tissues. This overlapping edge is sealed initially with an adhesive strip which is removable and the entire stack and wrapper are placed within a paperboard carton with a removable section in the top panel which allows access to the strip and overlapping edge to facilitate removal of the tissues. The package further includes means for retaining the film wrapper within the carton as the tissues are removed so that it does not pull out through the opening in the carton.
