Abstract: A paperboard carton having a hinged or a flip top cover which extends down over the top of the carton and which has a double thickness front skirt with a slit extending across the center of the skirt, this slit positioned to overlie in the folded position a turned bound locking flange which is formed as a part of the front panel of the carton.

Abstract: A one-piece, die cut partition made from foldable sheet-like material which folds into a two-cell rectangular divider with single thickness material around the perimeter and double thickness material in the center partition, the partition being such that it may be easily set up by hand and requires no additional retention devices or material although it may be taped or stapled.

Abstract: A die cut pad made from corrugated paperboard for use in protecting a sink during shipment in a rectangular carton, the pad being one which folds over upon itself and has a die cut section which may extend down into the cavity in a similarly placed section on the opposite side which is positioned against the outside of the cavity and serves to hold the sink or suspend it away from the side panels of the carton.

Abstract: A shadow display carton and blank for making same with top and bottom portions of a front panel in position to frame the article to be displayed, and die cut folded sections at the top and bottom of the carton to support and restrain the article away from the end panels of the carton.

Abstract: A hinged pour spout for the upper corner of a rectangular paperboard carton which is formed integrally with the blank and can be reinserted to close the opening after use.

Abstract: A package for taco shells of the type which are a thin crisp tortilla of a generally circular shape which is folded upon itself leaving a radius of curvature across the folded mid section of the taco shell. The package includes a nested array of the shells which are located within a tray having two diagonally oriented and inwardly folded flaps which position the shells against one another in the nested array and which, in combination with a shrink film covering over the taco shells and the tray, reduces breakage of the shells during shipment and storage.

Abstract: Apparatus for closing and gluing containers which are of the type assembled from two pieces including a slotted tray with an outer sleeve which telescopes over the assembled tray and which has top flaps foldable into position as the top of the container. The tray is assembled and the sleeve is placed thereon prior to filling and the filled container is then directed into the apparatus which raises the outer sleeve to allow adhesive to be applied to the tray and at the same time allow the flaps to be glued and folded into position, the outer sleeve subsequently being pressed into position and held in that configuration until the adhesive can set, the finished container having adhesive holding the sleeve to the tray and the outer closure flaps sealed.

Abstract: A self-locking outside corner pad of sheet material and adapted for use with thin rectangular objects such as window frames or doors. The pads have adequate thickness and suspension structure to allow stacking, even without an outer sleeve.

Abstract: A tape cassette hub retainer which may be used with different types of cartons, and which is adapted to engage and restrain the hubs of the cassette from movement during shipment. Small die cut flaps are located in a base panel directly beneath the cassette hubs and are foldable upwardly into a post configuration to engage the internal teeth in the hub of the cassette reels. An overlying support panel is provided having an opening through which the small flaps extend and which has a pair of side restraining flaps to hold the flaps from the base panel in upright position. In an alternate form, the overlying support panel is omitted.

Abstract: A tape cassette hub retainer which may be used with different types of cartons, and which is adapted to engage and restrain the hubs of the cassette from movement during shipment. Small die cut flaps are located in a base panel directly beneath the cassette hubs and are foldable upwardly into a post configuration to engage the internal teeth in the hub of the cassette reels. An overlying support panel is provided having an opening through which the small flaps extend and which has a pair of side restraining flaps to hold the flaps from the base panel in upright position. In an alternate form, the overlying support panel is omitted.

Abstract: A display carton and blank for making same which is particularly useful in displaying small rigid tubes where both ends of the tube are engaged by the carton, including a shadow panel arrangement having at one end thereof a three-panel tube engaging arrangement wherein a center panel supports and engages the bottom of the cap and two small triangular panels engage the edges of the bottom of the tube to hold it in position along with the shadow panels.

Abstract: A carton for use in dispensing interleaved tissues which is designed to leave each succeeding tissue in position partially withdrawn from the dispenser after the prior tissue has been completely removed. A conventional four panel end closure is provided with an outer panel covering the entire surface of the end of the carton, with two first-folded minor flaps having film attached thereto so that in the final folded position an aperture results, with the overlapping film covering that aperture from below. An overwrap is provided which is glued on the bottom side of the carton and attached to the top side to a removable panel formed as a part of the top flap and removable to expose the entire aperture.

Abstract: A one-piece die cut blank foldable into a rigid-sided container which has a four-cell divider located within the walls, wherein the divider panels are incorporated into the one-piece blank and are either foldable into position or are removable from the blank and inserted into a partition panel which is foldable from the blank.

Abstract: A novel package for containing and dispensing moistened tissues which are arranged in a folded stacked array, including a film wrapper surrounding the stack of tissues and sealed on the ends with a longitudinal overlap of the edges on the top of the stack which allows access for removal of the tissues. This overlapping edge is sealed initially with an adhesive strip which is removable and the entire stack and wrapper are placed within a paperboard carton with a removable section in the top panel which allows access to the strip and overlapping edge to facilitate removal of the tissues. The package further includes means for retaining the film wrapper within the carton as the tissues are removed so that it does not pull out through the opening in the carton.

Abstract: A carton is provided having opposite side portions which project beyond the lower surface of carton. The lower surface is provided with apertures so that heat may pass through the apertures when the carton is placed in an oven or other heating chamber. A strip of film is secured to the lower surface and along an adjoining wall. The film normally closes the apertures, but is removable to expose the apertures.

Abstract: An improved cushioning structure for a rectangular paperboard carton adapted to hold fragile particles such as an electronic vacuum tube, and blank for making same, wherein a cushioning section is provided which extends substantially the entire length of the carton and has three transverse cuts therein extending partially therethrough which define an upper, middle and lower web members as well as a tube support member which are defined by staggered fold lines which allow the cushioning section to be folded and extend between opposite walls of the carton on either side of those two opposite panels to receive and cushion the article. The tube support member extends across the middle of the carton to position the tube vertically within the carton.
