Abstract: Laundry detergent compositions containing a detergent surfactant, a detergent builder, and from about 0.1% to about 10% by weight ethylenediamine-N,N'-disuccinic acid or salts thereof are disclosed. These compositions provide enhanced removal of organic stains, such as food and beverage stains.

Abstract: Block polyesters useful as soil release agents in detergent compositions are disclosed. Preferred polyesters have the formula: ##STR1## wherein each R.sup.1 is a 1,4-phenylene moiety; the R.sup.2 consist essentially of ethylene moieties, 1,2-propylene moieties or a mixture thereof; each X is ethyl or preferably methyl; each n is from about 12 to about 43; u is from about 3 to about 10.

Abstract: Detergent compositions which comprise from about 0.05 to about 95% by weight of a water-soluble ethoxylated amine polymer having clay soil removal/anti-redeposition properties. These polymers comprise a polymer backbone other than a polyalkyleneamine or polyalkyleneimine backbone, and at least 2 M groups and at least one L-X group, wherein M is a tertiary amine group attached to or integral with the backbone; X is a nonionic group, an anionic group or mixture thereof; and L is a hydrophilic chain connecting groups M and X or connecting X to the polymer backbone. L also contains the polyoxyalkylene moiety (R'O).sub.m (CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n, wherein R' is C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 alkylene or hydroxyalkylene, m and n are numbers such that the moiety --(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n -- comprises at least about 50% by weight of said polyoxyalkylene moiety, and n is at least about 3.
Abstract: Detergent compositions which comprise from about 0.05 to about 95% by weight of a water-soluble cationic compound having clay soil removal/anti-redeposition properties. These compounds are selected from ethoxylated cationic monoamines, ethoxylated cationic diamines, ethoxylated cationic polyamines, ethoxylated cationic polymers, and mixtures thereof. In addition to the cationic compounds, the detergent compositions further comprise from about 1 to about 75% by weight of a nonionic, anionic, ampholytic, zwitterionic, or cationic detergent surfactant or mixture thereof. In addition to these detergent surfactants, the detergent composition can optionally comprise from 0 to about 80% by weight of a detergent builder.
Abstract: Water-soluble zwitterionic compounds having clay soil removal/anti-redeposition properties. The zwitterionic compounds are selected from monozwitterionic compounds, dizwitterionic compounds, polyzwitterionic compounds, and zwitterionic polymers. These zwitterionic compounds are useful in detergent compositions at from about 0.05 to about 95% by weight. In addition to the zwitterionic compounds, the detergent compositions further comprise from about 1 to about 75% by weight of a nonionic, anionic, ampholytic, zwitterionic, or cationic detergent surfactant or mixture thereof.
Abstract: A peanut butter-filled snack product or the like is disclosed. This product includes an edible, heat stable, lubricious filling having a fat content of from about 40% to about 70% by weight. In addition, an edible hydrophilic material coats this filling. The coated filling is then surrounded by a layer of dough. After the snack product is baked, the filling retains its softness and lubricity.

Abstract: A hydrophilic phenol ester derivative, especially a sulphonated or carboxylated phenol ester is prepared by reacting a C.sub.6 -C.sub.18 substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic carboxylic acid with a C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkanoic anhydride, and reacting the resultant C.sub.6 -C.sub.18 acid anhydride with a substituted phenol such as an alkali metal phenol sulphonate salt or hydroxybenzene carboxylic acid to give a C.sub.6 -C.sub.18 acyloxy derivative of a substituted benzene. The two stage process may be carried out in the same reaction vessel without the use of solvents. The products are useful as peroxyacid bleach precursors.
Abstract: Stain removal composition comprise mixtures of grease-cutting solvents and polyamines. The compositions are particularly useful for removing stains comprising a mixture of grease and particulate matter from fabrics. Liquid detergents containing said solvents and polyamines in the form of stable oil-in-water microemulsions are disclosed.

Abstract: Stable emulsions characterized by pseudo-"melting" properties are comprised of an oil phase, an aqueous disperse phase, and particles containing an immobilized water-in-oil emulsion destabilizing agent. The emulsions are suitable for use as drug delivery vehicles, cosmetic ointments, and the like, and especially as foods, such as cake frosting bases, desserts ("ice cream") and bread spreads. The physical and organoleptic properties of the emulsions make them especially useful as successors to butter or margarine. In an optional mode, compositions comprising the oil phase and the destabilizing agent are provided. Such compositions interact with extrinsic water (e.g., saliva) and provide palatable, non-waxy shortenings, food spreads, and the like. When used for frying foods, or the like, the water-containing compositions herein foam slightly, and this foaming reduces both spattering and the tendency of food being cooked to undesirably adhere to the cooking utensil.

Abstract: Zwitterionic surfactant compounds provide effective therapy for ulceration of the gastric mucosa. The tendency of aspirin and other salicylate-based drugs to cause ulceration of the gastric mucosa is also reduced by administration of such drugs in conjunction with certain zwitterionic surfactants. The ammoniohexanoate zwitterionics are especially preferred in the management of both gastric and duodenal ulcers.
Abstract: The anti-inflammatory activity of fenoprofen, ketoprofen, MK-830 and other phenylacetic acid-based anti-inflammatory drugs is enhanced by administration thereof in conjunction with a phosphonate compound such as EHDP or Cl.sub.2 MDP.
