Abstract: A safety clamp appliance is disclosed formed of a cable or rope housing having opposed hinged walls for opening to receive a rope and a generally U-shaped cross-section, the housing interior being adapted with a rope slide to receive a safety rope, a brake lever having a pivot point, a brake surface and a handle for attachment to a climber's belt. The brake lever is pivotally mounted in the housing. An actuating spring is provided for spring loading the brake lever, thereby maintaining a constant pressure by the brake surface on the rope. The actuating spring is provided with a quick release fastener to disconnect from the brake lever for converting the safety clamp appliance from a spring loaded mode to a non-spring loaded mode.
Abstract: A water to fuel production apparatus including a tank divided into compartments for producing hydrogen in one compartment and oxygen in another compartment, where the gases produced do not contact each other in the compartments or until they are mixed prior to entering an internal combustion engine. A control system including cathodes and anodes in the compartments and a switching system to turn individual cathodes and anodes on or off.
Abstract: A drift fence for retaining drifting snow and sand, and to be used as a barrier for people and animal control is disclosed. The drift fence is provided with tubular slats held together by parallel cords or cables and spaced apart by a plurality of retainers. Each retainer has an H-shape to receive tubular slats between the parallel legs and is held to the slats by the parallel cord or cables.
Abstract: An assembly for facilitating the quick connection and disconnection of appliance cables to the terminals of a storage battery and preventing corrosion at the terminals, including a pair of connectors defined by insulating caps enclosing conductive sleeves, and a releasable clamp engageable with the battery for securing the connectors against their respective terminals, including the improvement of a simple releasable clamp.
Abstract: A tamper proof protective cover for cap screws. The cover is installed over either the head or nut, depending which is exposed to vandalism. There is a hemispherical or dome shaped surface with a slightly angled bottom to prevent getting a grip on the cover. A blind bore with a compression ring and gripping rings extending from the flat bottom surface into the blind bore. The protective cover is installed using a special tool by placing the bore over the head or nut of a cap screw and driving down on the head or nut. The gripping rings engage and either binds with or penetrates the edges of the head or nut.
Abstract: A collapsible lunch box that can be folded into a flat package for storage when not in use and can be made ready for use by changing the package into a rectangular tube and pivoting two side panels to close the open ends of the tube. The side panels have locking elements which engage openings on the rectangular tube to keep the box closed. In the folded package position the locking elements on the side panels interlock to hold the package in the folded position.
Abstract: A raising and lowering mechanism including an electric powered winch having a cable connected to the cross bar of pivotal lever arms to raise and lower a pivotally hinged rigid cover. The winch cable is payed over a pulley system positioned at a height equal to or greater than the pivot points of the lever arms for providing a mechanical advantage.
Abstract: A power operated lawn mower with an internal combustion engine having a pull cord starter mechanism and a foot operated attachment for pulling the starter cord. The foot operated starter pull cord attachment mounts on the rear of a cutting blade housing and has a vertical support and a V-shaped lever pivotal on the vertical support. One arm of the V-shaped lever connects to the starter pull cord and the other arm has a foot pedal for applying an accelerating force to the cord. The vertical support raises the height of the pivotal lever to a position where the movement of the lever arms provides a maximum pulling force in a short distance.
Abstract: An automobile distress signal for attaching to the side window of an automobile where said distress signal is L-shaped with a short leg and a long leg, the shorter leg having a window mounting attachment. In the primary embodiment the mounting attachment is a pair of suction cups. In other embodiments hook and loop connectors are used, as well as a hook mounting attachment for hooking over the top edge of a window.
Abstract: A folding, solid polyfoam cushioned or inflatable seat for a pickup truck bed with a removable seat belt assembly that may be an integral part of the installed seat. The hinge arrangement permits the seat to move from upright to inclined, and allows installation in a variety of pickup bed sizes. The seat has an attaching support which connects to the truck for easy removal and reinstallation. The seat can be used out of the pickup bed, for example on the beach, picnicking, and the like.
Abstract: A windshield wiper for cleaning the windshield of motor vehicles, where a vertically moving wiper blade extends across the width of the windshield. The wiper blade has a generally triangular cross section with concave walls for collecting water and dumping it in front of the blade. There are two cleaning edges; one for cleaning on the downstroke, and one for cleaning on the upstroke. Sensors are placed at desired locations around the periphery of the windshield to sense the moisture when precipitation occurs and are connected in the windshield wiper circuit to activate the wipers accordingly.
Abstract: A game board and game pieces for playing a game of skill and chance, using dice and marbles. The game board has a raised playing surface with peripheral double tracks and cross shaped inner tracks. Troughs are located in the depressions defined by the quadrants between the peripheral double tracks and the cross shaped inner tracks. Each player has his/her own pair of dice and a plurality of playing pieces. A player's playing pieces are divided into four of a first color, e.g. blue, and four of a lighter shade of the same color, e.g. light blue. The player's dice are colored to correspond to his/her playing pieces wherein one die is of the first color, e.g. blue, and other die is of a lighter shade of the same color, e.g. light blue. The playing piece and dice of the other players are of different colors e.g. red and light red, green and light green, etc.
