Abstract: A tamperproof dead bolt device secured to a door jamb is disclosed including a stationary support plate assembly provided with a slotted section for a sliding dead bolt which in the secured position projects into the plane of the arc for opening the door. The dead bolt device further includes a lock member which prevents the dead bolt from being retracted from the secured position. When the dead bolt device is installed it is secured through the door jamb and wall partition to distribute the forces of an attempted forced entry over a larger surface area.
Abstract: A vehicle safety restraint device having an improved lock and release mechanism. The vehicle safety restraint device comprises an airbag and projectable lap plate attached to rotatably mounted transverse tubes containing compressed gas or chemical inflator cartridges, all of which are housed within a container capable of being used as a visor when in an inoperative condition. An electrical impulse from an impact sensing or emergency hand switch releases the unit to rotate into a vertical position, simultaneously inflating the airbag through telescoping tubes within the bag and projecting the lap plate into the occupant's lap. The improved lock and release mechanism, which includes one or more electrically responsive explosive wire cutters and a looped locking wire, provides rapid rotation of the airbag and transverse tube. The looped locking wire holds the spring biased transverse tube in a ready position until a signal activates the wire cutters which sever the wire, thereby releasing the tube for rotation.
Abstract: A safety clamp appliance is disclosed formed of a cable or rope housing having opposed walls and a generally U-shaped cross-section, the housing interior being adapted to receive a safety rope, and a brake lever having a pivot point, a brake surface and a handle for attachment to a workman's belt. The brake lever is pivotally mounted in the housing. An actuating spring is provided for spring loading the brake lever, thereby maintaining a constant pressure by the brake surface on the rope. The actuating spring is provided with a quick release for converting the safety clamp appliance from a spring loaded mode to a non-spring loaded mode.
Abstract: An attachment for bicycles which allows a wheeled shopping cart to be towed behind a conventional bicycle with universal pivoting and turning means to take care of uneven terrain, cornering and other movements which a vehicle-towed device may be subject to.
Abstract: A method of styling hair to cover partial baldness using only the hair on a person's head. The hair styling requires dividing a person's hair into three sections and carefully folding one section over another.
Abstract: An eyeglass carrying case of an improved design including a preformed fold line along the rear wall of the case and a pivotally attached carrying clip above the preformed fold line. The improved design of the eyeglass carrying case allows eyeglass wearers to carry their eyeglasses on their belts and waist bands without fear of breaking the eyeglasses.
Abstract: A bicycle is provided with safety apparatus consisting of a plurality of battery powered lights attached to the spokes of the bicycle wheels. The wheels are covered on each side with an apertured cover attached to the bicycle frame. Rotation of the wheels causes the lights to pass the apertures and be visible as flashing lights to the sides.
Abstract: A beach chair formed of a cylinder of canvas or other flexible material adapted to be filled with sand and having a cover flap to permit a person to sit thereon supported by the sand and protected by the flap. A pair of U-shaped rods inserted in the ground extend up along the side edges of the seat to support the seat and form lifting and carrying handles. Storage pockets are provided on the sides of the seat for accessories such as sunglasses, cigarettes, and the like. A net or mesh extends across the bottom of the chair to form an article holding beach bag and to allow the sand to escape when the chair is lifted.

Abstract: A permanently knotted necktie comprises an elongated necktie body having a front face and a rear face, a permanent necktie knot and an extensible strap for detachably fastening the necktie around a person's neck. The permanent necktie knot and the necktie body may be formed from a single strip of material or the knot and body may be formed from separate strips of material. In the former case, the knot is formed by folding one end of the strip material back onto the front face of the body and then folding the free ends of the folded-back portion around the body and fastening them together at the rear face. In the latter case, the knot is formed by folding one end of the body strip material back onto the rear face of the body and then encircling the knot strip material around the folded-back portion and fastening together the ends of the knot strip material at the rear face.
Abstract: An occupant propelled, tricycle type, recreational vehicle has an inflated flexible bag attached to its outer periphery to provide safe, controlled bumping of similar vehicles or other objects for the amusement of the occupant.
Abstract: A mortar tool for grasping a bead of mortar and placing it on top of the course of bricks or blocks being laid. The device includes a pair of opposed elongate jaws which are spring biased to open position and have handles or a pistol grip for closing the jaws to retain mortar therein. The device is then moved to engage the top of a course of bricks or blocks and with attached guides is aligned therewith and the handle or pistol is then released to open the jaws to deposit the bead of mortar onto the work.
