  • Patent number: 4762341
Abstract: A cover for protecting and supporting a plurality of sheets bound together with a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape and bound to the cover by the tape. The cover has a binding area and a protective coating in that area where the binding tape has an adhesion force of between 200 and 700 grams per 1.27 cm width of tape according to a standard adhesion peel test. The coating may be an actual coating of low adhesion material, a film, a coated plastic film, or the cover material. The cover may include a sheet folded centrally, a truncated cover to afford attachment of a separate cover sheet, or the cover may be formed to cover only the front or back of the documents to be bound thereon.

  • Patent number: 4762497
Abstract: A wrist strap can be connected through the fabric of a cleanroom garment by means of an inexpensive, removable connector comprising two molded plastic parts that can be interconnected to entrap the fabric. Protruding from a reservoir in the first of the two plastic parts is an open tube of open-cell foam which is filled with an electrically conductive gel. The foam tube protrudes from the reservoir and, when the two plastic parts are interconnected, the foam tube is compressed and transmits a squeezing force to the conductive gel, thus forcing a portion of the conductive gel through the exposed open end of the foam tube into the entrapped fabric and against an electrode in the second of the two plastic parts. This completes an electrical connection between that electrode and an electrode in the first plastic part at the base of the reservoir. The conductive gel may also be carried in a collapsible cup which is biased to force the conductive gel through the fabric to complete the electrical connection.

  • Patent number: 4748043
Abstract: An electrostatic coating system for applying very thin coating to a substrate in air at atmospheric pressure comprises a plurality of spaced capillary needles positioned in at least two rows and fed with coating liquid via a manifold. The needles are disposed concentric within holes in an extractor plate, a potential is developed between the capillary needles and the extractor plate affording a reduction of the liquid to a mist of highly charged droplets drawn to the substrate by a second electrical field. Insulative layers on the extractor plate provide increased droplet control.

  • Patent number: 4742913
Abstract: A dispenser package for a stack of strips of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape. Each strip is formed with a tab at one end thereof and the strips of tape are aligned in the stack. The package comprises a support member supporting the stack of strips throughout their length and a cover portion which is positioned above the stack of strips and joined to the support member at one end and the cover is provided with an edge portion at the other end extending transversely of the stack at a position adjacent the tabs. The cover is formed of a flexible material to bow between its ends as the top strip is separated from the stack to hold the strip nearly perpendicular to the stack as it is peeled from the stack.

  • Patent number: 4731271
Abstract: A sleeve for enclosing a cable connection, comprising a bendable sheet adapted to be laid around the cable connection. The sheet has a series of equally spaced longitudinal cuts in at least one marginal portion to be arranged transversely of the longitudinal direction of the cable connection. The cuts subdivide the marginal portion into tongues so that as the sheet is laid around the cable connection, the tongues can be laid with a partial overlap tapering down onto the cable sheath at the end of the cable connection. The longitudinal cuts are formed by cutting lines which extend in a direction deivating from the longitudinal direction so that the free ends of the tongues are offset with respect to the base portions of the tongues in a direction transversely of the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 4725243
Abstract: A cable termination assembly with an integral polarizing key, and method of molding the same, includes an electrical cable including at least one conductor, at least one electrical contact, a support body for at least preliminarily supporting the electrical contact, the electrical contact having an insulation displacement connection portion, a contacting portion, and an offset between said portions, and the support body having a land for cooperating with the offset to support the electrical contact during insulation displacement connection connecting of the insulation displacement connection portion to such conductor. Part of the electrical contact and the support body cooperate during the mentioned molding to effect a shut off function blocking flow of molding material of the strain relief into an area of the support body where the contacting portion is located. Molding material fills a cell of the support body during molding of the strain relief body to form a polarizing key.
